a lot of people are hoping that he can carry through on that part of his theme in trying to unify the country. it is going to be a busy night for the president. from here, he will attend three of the inaugural balls tonight. that is a big reduction from what we have seen from presidents past. presidents reagan, president clinton and president obama all attended between 10 or 11 balls. president trump, who came into office talking about getting to work, scaling back some of the pageantry and making this more about the people and getting down to business, is only going to do three. he'll do the liberty and the freedom ball, both at the washington convention center. and of course the ball for the service members at the national building museum, at which point he and the first lady will dae there. and then of course they will split up, dance with some of the service members. that will take him probably well

franklin square, which is one of the stages for the protesters. i can tell you people have been lighting fires in the middle of the street, throwing newspaper bundles into them, facing off with police all day. earlier today, as you said, things got heated early when protesters near mcpherson square were marching down the street, smashing windows, trying to push police out of their way. that's when police started to chase them. we had video of that chase where about 50 or 60 protesters were being chased by almost as many police officers. at that point they surrounded those protesters and that's when they began the mass arrests. so far today about 95 people have been arrested. they have been charged with rioting. we also know at least two d.c. police officers have been injured during some of those dust-ups and at least one civilian also. later this afternoon, we also saw a
