tight security measures put in place. >> more on the travel warnings for the march for life. megan, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, guys. could be tricky getting around this morning. we were expecting to see some of those road closures to take effect at 6:00. it hasn't happened quite yet but we do see a stack of barriers so we're expecting police to come any time now, but we are expecting a number of closures starting at 6:00 in the morning and then kind of running as the events unfold this afternoon. take a look at the map here and that will give you an idea of the area that's impacted here. we're really talking about the area down by 15th and constitution. that's where the stage is. and that's where people are going to be attending that rally. then the march begins later on in the afternoon. they'll be marching up constitution avenue so we'll start to see those closures. so to give you an idea, madison

and jefferson drive, between 14th and 15th as well as areas along constitution all the way on up to the supreme court and the capitol after that march gets understoway. so expecting traffic tieups there. your best bet is metro. it's going to be very, very crowded. tens of thousands of people are expected. metro will be offering enhanced service between the morning and evening rush hour. trains every eight minutes. they're also going to be running more eight car trains. also, be sure to load up that smart trip card before you get on the subway, because it's going to be crowded. you don't want to be stuck in one of those lines waiting to get some money on your smart trip card. do it in advance. because vice president mike pence and kellyanne conway are going to be attending, we are expecting tight security. you are going to have to pass through a security check point if you're

for the first time since taking office president trump will take questions from reporters at his news conference today. much will be on the focus with his visit with british prime minister. there's a lot of risk at that meeting. with britain leaving the european union the u.k. is in need of a quick trade agreement with the u.s. president trump is also expected to sign several executive orders today. the white house isn't specifically said what those actions will involve but be sure to look for an alert on the nbc washington app before the signing at 4:30 this afternoon. mexico's president has cancelled a white house visit over president trump's plans to build a wall. one of the options to pay for the wall includes a 20% tax on mexican imports. that means american shoppers would likely

that same crime. charges. justin finch will have a message from d.c. police to other potential victims. a virginia man has been found guilty of a murder not far from alexandria. he was convicted by a jury yesterday. in 2015 he got into a fight with tibs on north fayette street and shot him four times. we're working to get an update on the sentence the jury is recommending. new this morning five montgomery county car owners are having to deal with an unplanned expense after a trip to the mall. a fire broke out last night on the third level of the parking garage at montgomery mall in bethesda. five cars were damaged. two were destroyed. montgomery county fire says there was $75,000 worth of damage. look at all that mess. fire investigators are now looking into how the fire started. some scary momentsr

people flying out of dulles airport. a flight had to make an emergency landing. >> authorities say it was a hot spot on one of the engines that is to blame for turning that plane around. crews had to spray the engine down with water after landing. everybody is okay. the metro operator who opened a yellow line's train's door before it arrived at the station. he was the same employee who was at the controls in 2015. in that incident the operator was praised how he handled the incident. however, on tuesday, sources say he did not follow proper procedure after opening the doors before arriving at the national airport stop. the operator told metro officials his elbow hit the door button as he was trying to take his jacket off. an alleged serial burglar off the streets and it's thanks in part to a smart phone app.

here are some good news for foodies and wine lovers out there. a new winery could be coming to the district by the end of the year. >> new york based city winery plans to open. the business journal reports that a warehouse will likely be transformed to a concert venue complete with a restaurant, and bar, maybe a roof top as well. >> you could soon be able to buy more types of alcohol in virginia. the house of delegates passed a bill to overturn the ban on 151 proof spirits like ever clear. governor vetoed a similar bill last year but this time they tweaked the bill a little bit. they would be able to restrict sales at certain stores near campuses. only one

make a difference. a resident in fairfax county, community is being credited with helping to stop a serial burglar. residents on edge after at least eight homes were broken into. a resident out walking his dog spotted a man crouched down in some bushes and called police. 19-year-old nicolas cormier was arrested and he allegedly had some of the jewelry on his person. residents say during this crime spree they stayed alert and communicated with each other. >> communicated with each other so that everybody knows what's going on. and everybody can, you know, watch out for -- watch out for each other. >> and one way neighbors are on the look out for each other is on this website called next door. it allows police and neighbors to post developments. we're at the washington auto show t

be more victims. >> reporter: good morning. police are hoping with him caught that more victims will turn up. his long record includes 20 arrests for sex offenses leaving the public and the police to wonder why he was still on the streets in the first place. now, we are awaiting a photo of michael hilliard to show you. he was actually due in court for his groping arrest in the logan circle area. then overnight wednesday, almost two weeks later booked again for groping a woman on 7th street northwest. so why was he free? well, charged with misdemeanors in that logan circle case, he was awaiting a february 2nd court date. his wednesday arrest includes felony kidnapping charges so now he remains in custody. police say he's been linked to crimes like this for many years. these types of offenses for more than two
