and you can see now there are dozens of units on this scene. >> yeah, we just learned the fire is going to 2 alarms and the crews trying to fight it include foam and hazmat units. we want to bring in ashley, public information officer for the fairfax county fire department. ashley, what can you tell us about this facility that's on fire and what you're doing to get the fire under control right now? >> so, around 9:00 p.m. this evening our units responded for reports of a fire at a fairfax county recycling and disposal facility and the 9800 block of furnace road in the lorton area. we immediately began an aggressive attack on the fire. due to the size of the facility and the amount of fire that was showing, it went to a second alarm that has brought approximately 60 fire fighters to the scene and we're still actively working to bring the fire under control. >> ashley, this is impressive from the air. is there any concern about what's burning tonight and any

truck. the driver stopped here at the scene. shortly after the impact, was questioned by investigators here at the scene and then was allowed to leave. we believe that this accident happened in the intersection here and i can tell you this is a very well marked intersection with traffic signals, crosswalk signs. you can see those marks, you know, the white stripes of the crosswalk and, you know, nothing as far as we've been able to determine was wrong with the signals here. i know that is one of the things that they are looking at. but right now fairfax county police, again, attempting to do some evidence gathering, some reconstruction of exactly what happened tonight in this fatal pedestrian collision. live in alexandria, jackie ben sen, news 4. back to you. >> same conflict, different coast. tonight protesters turned away another right wing speaker from a college campus. this time at nyu.

nyu demonstrators faced off with nypd officers just off campus and an nyu spokesperson says like last night at cal berkeley, most of them aren't actually students. the college is providing him to speak. someone pepper sprayed him opt way in and the event ended early. the group says they have a right to hear from prominent conservative voices. protesters say the school shouldn't stand for bigotry and racism. out west they're prerepairing $100,000 of damage to cal berkeley. hundreds of massage staters who rioted on campus, who tossed rocks and molatof cocktails at police. it grew from the breitbart editor's speech. this morning president trump tweeted a threat to yank the school's federal funding if it doesn't allow free speech. but several members of congress including one republican called that an empty threat. and one said she won't allow the president to bullical

u.n. resolution that had condemned the settlements. president trump will discuss the issue with prime minister benjamin netanyahu at a white house meeting february 15th. >> new sanctions on iran could come as early as tomorrow. it would be the trump administration's first disciplinary action after iran test fired a ballistic missile. up to two dozen iranian people, companies and government agencies could be penalized. throughout his campaign, president trump accused the obama administration of not being tough enough on iran. >> a taller stronger fence around the white house is one step closer to being built. approval from the national capital planning commission today means that that agency can now start looking for a contractor. the news 4 item has detailed the secret service to find the best way to protect the white house after a series of security breaches during the obama years. the new metal fence will be 11'7" tall. it will have anti-climb and intrusion detection technology.

fbi are working together to nab the guy they say robbed two banks today in the district. both are td banks. one on rhode island avenue northeast here this afternoon, the other on seventh street in chinatown early this morning. in both cases, the guy entered the bank, approached the teller and announced the robbery. but took off without any cash, and no one was hurt. if you think you've seen him, you're urged to call police. >> new at 11:00, there is a reward out now for information about a bethesda man who has been missing since december 13th. john patrick donahoe's family hasn't seen or heard from him since then. now they are offering $25,000 to anyone who can help find him. montgomery county police said a woman was caught on surveillance video using donahoe's credit card in hyattsville on december 22nd. police haven't said whether she is linked to his disappearance. >> now to a story you saw first on news 4. dozens of prince georges county police officers are accusing the d
