day goes along. some super mild air coming our way midweek. your complete ten-day forecast coming up in a few. >> chuck, thank you very much. following breaking news this morning. police trying to figure out if these two scenes are connected to a late-night officer-involved shooting. one of the scenes is in northeast d.c. >> the other is near taylor street and 51st street in bladensburg, maryland. derrick ward breaks down a timeline of what happened. >> reporter: it all started here at about 11:30 in the 4100 block of 51st street in bladensburg. folks that live around here say they heard as many as five shots. were police were called here because there was a report of someone breaking into cars. when police got here, the suspects were leaving the scene. they say that suspect's car hit a police cruiser and then tried to run down an officer who was on foot. officers shot at the car. there was a chase, but they say they lost sight of it. a short time later, a car was found burning in the 3700 block of j street northeast.

the vehicle. police are trying to determine if that is, indeed, the car. they don't know if anyone was injured. we do know the officers involved are on administrative duty pending an investigation into this zend. derrick ward, news 4. >> thank you, derrick. we're in the middle of a legal showdown over president trump's immigration order. this morning, a federal appeals court has denied the trump administration's request to immediately reinstate its travel ban. this comes just hours after the justice department filed an appeal on friday's ruling, temporarily stopping the order. doj lawyers argue the order is a valid exercise of the president. travelers from the seven countries banned in the executive order will now be allowed to get on flights and enter the united states. it's as though the executive order was never actually issued. as for visas issued before the

revoked, those are once again considered valid. well, president trump is defending his claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2016 election. he talked about it with fox news' bill o'reilly for a super bowl interview. >> many people have come out and said i'm right. >> but you have to have data to back that up. >> people are not citizens, and they're on the registration rolls. look, bill. we can be babies, but you take a look at the registration, you have illegals, dead people. it's really a bad situation. >> well, last month the president threatened to launch an investigation into voter fraud, but the white house has not provided details on that effort. well, the countdown to kickoff is on. the atlanta falcons are going to take on, who else, the new england patriots in super bowl li tonight in houston. >> if the falcons win,

we're already up to 40 degrees. yesterday's high was 42. so we will have no trouble surpassing yesterday's mark. southerly breezes have a little hint of a windchill left out there. still feels cold. you'll need your insulated jacket here early this morning. it'll be a jacket-off kind of an afternoon because milder weather comes in. temperatures today upper 40s and low 50s. 40 now in washington. 39 still in southern maryland where the clouds are hanging in a little tougher. but look at all the sun icons there in our hour-by-hour forecast. up into the low 50s today. skies will be mostly clear overnight tonight. the moisture bottled up down here across the lower parts of the gulf. that's aiming in our direction. we'll be dry for the remainder of the day tonight and tomorrow. then as we get into monday night, tuesday morning, that's when the rain chances come in. there was a little bit of light snow earlier this morning, but all that is now long gone. future weather carries the clear skies through today and tonight.
