>> her tumors were too small for the treatment. she was devastated. but she refused to give up. she reached out once again and her persistence paid off. in march 2015, she joined dr. steven rosenburg's trial. he's a leading researcher in the therapy and the surgery at the national caninstitute. his trial involved removing cells from a tumor your body's own cancer-fighting cells, multiplying th the billions in the lab th returning those cells back to your body to fight the tumor. she spent a ruling month in the hospital, 148 billion cancer-fighting cells were put back into body and the result sent shock waves through the medical community. >> six disappeared completely, one then started to grow about eight or nine months later. >> yeah. >> and with everything else gone and this only one tumor in all of the scans that we could do, we decided to take it out. >> her
