the headlines. we'll start in the district where police say a man was shot on division avenue in northeast just before 10:00 last night. they will not confirm if the shooting is related to a car chase that ended at maryland live casino. anne arundel county police tell us they chased a vehicle that was somehow involved in a carjacking in d.c. now, the casino was partially evacuated until the man was arrested inside. president donald trump will tee off with shinzo abe in an effort to build a relationship. the two world leaders are spending the weekend together at mar-a-lago resort. a live picture of the panda cam. we believe bao bao one of the two rolling around here and the national zoo hosting a private farewell party for her. the celebration will include celebratory ice cake as part of a breeding agreement between the zoo and china, the panda will actually leave on february 21st.

already been felt. montgomery county lost one of its biggest advocates for child safety this week. emily crown worked for the county for 36 years. news4's kristin wright looks at the lasting legacy she believes behind. >> reporter: it's hard to say how many lives emily crown touched over the years. we know it's a lot. one car seat at a time, emily was known as the heart and soul of montgomery child passenger safety seat program and safe kids. at a car seat safety check event in 2012, emily told us how she just wanted to help parents. >> a lot of times there's just so many little details to look at that it gives them peace of mind when they come here and know it's done properly. >> reporter: emily led the way installing and checking countless car seats and training others. she understood the need for parents like

last minute, emily was always able to make it happen. >> and that was kristin wright reporting. a memorial service will be held later this morning in damascus for emily. it's going to be at 10:00 in the morning at the activities building. emily leaves behind her husband and her son. if you speed past a stopped school bus in maryland, you might soon have to pay a bigger penalty. according to our news partners at wtop, they have introduced a new house bill. it would slap a $250 fine on driver who is pass a stopped school bus for the second time. the second offense would have to happen within 60 days of the first offense within the same county. current state law states that drivers must halt for a stopped school bus unless they are on the opposite side of a

so we usually think act volcanoes and how they cause destruction. now one volcano has created

this is out in the pacific ocean. you're looking at video that was shot by a crew that landed on the island. this is at the end of january. the island is now 12 times its original size. look at that. the volcano exploded south of tokyo back in 2013. this is out of florida where police rescued a driver from a burning car moments before it exploded. police say 44-year-old philip sizzle crashed into a concrete barrier. they say he was able to get out of the car but he couldn't move much farther. dash cam video shows this right here. look closely. three police officers rushing in, they're pulling him to safety before that car just goes up in more intense flames. no word on what caused that crash. the man is expected to make a full recovery. check your

y29kty ysty good morning. getting above freezing now. we've got the sunshine breaking out in the metro area. there's a live view sfr our prince georges county camera overlooking national harbor on this saturday morning. we will have our sunshine with us here off and on into the afternoon hours. so a great day to get out and get in a run, a walk, maybe even a hike or a bike ride as temperatures will be getting mild. in fact, ought to be making it up to 60 degrees by mid-afternoon. just some clouds coming and going. then by 6:00 p.m., back down to the upper 50s. rain chances for tomorrow. new hour-by-hour timing in just a few minutes.

security secretary john kelly visited the u.s. border with mexico, his boss is now tweeting about how much a new border wall will cost. president trump tweeting this morning that it will cost more than the government thought, but that when he starts negotiating, he plans to get that price quote way down. here's what kelly had to say about the current border. >> the fact that they're tunnelling under it goes to the effectiveness of not just the wall, the physical barrier that already exists here in san diego, but goes to the effectiveness of the men and women that then back that wall, patrol that wall. >> president trump also tweeting that he has not gotten involved in any design or negotiations for that project just yet. montgomery county's jail wants a million bucks. they say it'll be used to upgrade security measures. operators say some of their surveillance cameras are getting old. they're about 15 years old, in

reston town center. there's the dulles tollway and some sunshine there. we'll have the clouds coming and going throughout the rest of the afternoon. right now it's getting well above freezing just about everywhere. our temperatures now into the mid-40s in washington and around the chesapeake bay. fairfax, northern virginia, shenandoah valley now. many spots beginning to climb into the 40s there as well. a pleasant day is under way. and hour-by-hour temperatures, 40s 10:00 just about everywhere. then by 2:00, upper 50s to near 60 degrees. the average high this time of year is in the mid-40s. that is way above the average. we're going to be about 15 degrees warmer than average this afternoon with sunshine coming and going. not as cold tonight. back down to near 50 by 10:00. we'll have the peekaboo moon with the cloud cover coming and going. we'll see the sunshine a little bit this afternoon as well as a little bit of that just past full moon

storm team 4 radar. don't have any rain or snow in the vicinity. but tomorrow 6:00 a.m., this area you see in color northern virginia, panhandle of west virginia, this area could get a bit of light rain. then 7:00 to 8:00 a.m., light rain. that may move off to the east. here's the hour-by-hour timing by noon time tomorrow. we'll see maybe a few scattered rain showers. metro area points north and east as well as the shenandoah valley and into the mountains. as we get into the afternoon hours, just a few scattered sprinkles as well. most will be ending around 6:00 p.m. tomorrow. then we'll dry out on sunday night and into monday morning. after we reach the mid-60s on sunday afternoon, back down to the mid-30s on monday morning. then monday afternoon, upper 40s after blustery winds in the morning. then on tuesday, valentine's day will be in the 20s in the morning but lovable weather in the afternoon.
