least a dozen people will wake up away from home after a fire at a rockville apartment building forced them to find somewhere else to stay. the fire started last night and quickly spread to the attic. take a look had at this scene from chapter 4. fire investigators believe smoking materials are to blame for this fire. happening today, don't be surprised if your favorite restaurant is closed or there are fewer workers where you shop today. immigrants and supporters are planning to strike. the protest is called day without immigrants. take a look at the map here. this is happening in boston, houston, chicago, new york, fill filling and here in washington, d.c. the protest is being organized on social media and there are two major goals. first to show opposition to president trump's immigration

new tension today for one of president trump's nominees. the senate will vote on whether to confirm congressman nick mulvaney. senator john mccain is expected to vote no because mulvaney supported cuts if defense spending in the past. mulvaney is still expected to be confirmed. another nominee is expected to be replaced this morning. andi puzder withdrew his nomination. the last straw was a 1990 episode where his ex-wife appeared in disguise describing allegations of domestic abuse. he has always denied allegations. his ex-wife has sis recanted his allegations. who is next to replace him? we'll go to capitol hill for news on potential

over the brother of the north korean leader. >> right, april. so we have information on not only a second, but a third arrest. new details coming in in the death of kim jong un's half brother. what we are hearing this morning is he is assaulted by two women at the malaysian airport while awaiting a flight there. we understand an autopsy is being done with some pushback on north korea with the speculation that in this was quite possibly a hit carried out by north korea. back to you. today, more charges could be coming for ten people connected to the death of a 15-year-old. we showed you the emotional reunion of a missing teen with her family. now we know she may be connected to that murder. this story is full of twist and turns here. it all started when another teen disappeared in december.

she was held against her will for about a month before being killed and left in a springfield park. these four adults are now charged with her abduction. sixteen agers have been arrested. the 17-year-old venus is among those teenagers. initially, police said she may be in danger, too, but now they say she is connected somehow to the murder. >> she is in custody. we're looking at the extent of her involvement. somehow, some way the people are connected through acquaintances, through knowledge of the crimes. >> police believe everyone involved is acquainted or affiliated with one gang. we have several missing people police need your help tracking down. they're concerned about the health and safety of 72-year-old melvin wylie. he was reported missing around 10:00 last night to fairfax police. he was driving a black

resignation. what exactly do these lawmakers want? >> and that depends on who you ask. both republicans and democrats say there needs to be an investigation into what the ties are. but republicans are specifically saying they would like to know who leaked the information. they also want to see if that was a crime and they asked, in fact, two chairman of the house committees asked the justice department to look into that aspect of it. senate democrats are saying this russian thing is a growing cloud over the white house. they would like to see a full investigation into exactly what's going on and what the ties are between the administration and the russians. and the over big story is andi pudzer withdrawing his nomination for labor secretary. who are some of the potential nominations? >> he had some issues and there was concern based on some domestic issues he was having that were later recounted. also his stance on opposing the minimum wage.

it's only getting more and more expensive to raise a child. our news partners at wtop found in many cases child care is more expensive than a mortgage or college tuition. new research from child care aware found that parents in the district are spending on average nearly $23,000 a year. in maryland, it's also very pricey. more than $14,000 a year. virginia is the cheapest
