weather. easy to see when you look at the map. line of storms pushing off to the east today. we are still going to watch for severe weather as we go through the afternoon. we know this. it has been very warm. warm conditions combine with cold air behind it. major cities. philadelphia, washington and new york city with a slight threat. mostly looking for thunderstorms. this is strong winds and hail potenti potential. minimal threat for tornado. watch for flooding concerns. snow on the ground. rain in february on top of that. that will melt the snow. especially with ice jams possible with the runoff areas. we will watch this throughout the day. mostly to the afternoon and evening hours of the east coast. by sunday, this will be out of here. you notice the temperature drop through sunday where temperatures are a good 30 degrees cooler in some of the major cities. you will not see a lot of rain necessarily, but when it does hit, y

quickly. >> thank you. to our nation's capitol and brewing political storms. white house under fire after asking the fbi to discredit a new york times article. that as the president faces another hurdle in his attempt to enforce a controversial travel ban. nbc's kelly o'donnell is live at the white house. >> reporter: good morning, sheinelle. so many developments from the white house. the president's revised travel ban is expected to be released this week. it comes at a time when on friday, a report surfaced from inside the department of homeland security and they are responsible for working on immigration. it appears to under cut the reasons behind the president's report and what he says is a danger from the seven countries. one line from the report says that citizenship is likely an unreliable indicator of the terrorist threat to the united states. going right at the issue of the risk posed by seven mostly

fort lauderdale airport this month. the son and his mother were returning from jamaica from a black history month event. the ali jr. was questioned for two hour was questions focusing on his religion. a judge ruled one accuser can testify to support charges that bill cosby drugged and molested a woman near his estate in philadelphia. prosecutors wanted to call 12 other women to support the claim of prior bad acts. a meetding here in new york with the city's mayor and federal prosecutors. mayor de blasio was questioned by prosecutors for four hours on friday. part of the investigation into whether the mayor and aides traded favors for campaign donations. mayor said fund raising followed the law. let's go to indra on the plaza wit love this g

they are doing. derrick, what is the latest? >> well, good morning. take a look. this is the naylor road metro parking lot. the entire lot is a crime scene. if you look where we are, we're in the parking lot of the old ledges. this is where buses are being allowed to go to pick people up and let them off. they're going to have to walk across. now, they are allowing folks to walk into the metro station and the station is open to rail traffic. but all of this is after this shooting earlier this morning. that was about 2:00 a.m. when two teens were at a bus bay at this metro stop when they were shot. a 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old female. we understand that the male is in critical condition. there is no suspect information and no lookout at this point from metro. but they are collecting evidence still at that bus bay. and that is why this entire parking lot is now a crime scene. both on the branch avenue side and on this

traffic. but you're just going to have to walk through that crime scene in the designated areas while they gather evidence. again, two teens shot and injured here. 15-year-old male and a 16-year-old female. male as we understand is in critical condition. no identity or suspect information at this time. you do take metro via bus, expect disruption while this crime scene is processed. derrick ward, news4. back to you. >> thank you, derrick. developing this morning, two men are in the hospital. this after a shooting in northeast d.c. police say that one man was shot in the stomach. the other man was shot in the leg on 51st street. both victims were conscious when officers arrived. d.c. police are still looking for whoever is responsible. and this morning a d.c. police officer back home after recovering from being shot thursday night. another officer is still in the hospital. jackie benson tells us more about the criminal history of the suspects who died during that shooting.

>> reporter: timothy lionel williams is the man seen on the ground here. we're not showing the portion of shots fired because of the graphic nature. court records show williams has a criminal history dating back to at least 1989. he was sentenced to eight years in prison after crashing a stolen car into a police cruiser ending a 20-mile chase clocked by radar at 143 miles an hour. in 1994 he pleaded guilty to armed robbery and weapon charges and was sentenced to ten years in prison. what he was doing in the 1200 block of holbrook street northeast and the exact circumstances that led to him being shot and killed remain unclear. >> i can't say from everything i've seen and everything i know exactly what happened. and i caution people, try not to jump to any conclusions until they've heard all of the evidence. >> reporter: the officers injured were called to the neighborhood after gunshots earlier in the day. this neighborhood has seen an 11% increase in violent crime

this man says he's a relative of timothy lionel williams. he asks not to be identified. >> i want to see justice. i mean, i want them to thoroughly investigate what happened, why he was shot. >> reporter: police tell us a gun was recovered and has been taken into evidence. jackie benson, news4. the democratic national committee is set to vote on its new national chair today. and there are seven candidates. now, one of the top candidates is former montgomery county council member and labor secretary tom perez. another c another top candidate is keith ellison. democrats hope their new chair will be able to lead the party into the 2018 midterms. one of the key issues has been the repeal and replacement of obamacare. now, the draft republican bill would eliminate the individual mandate meaning there would be no penalty if you didn't buy

caused it. now to the latest in that bizarre death of kim jong-nam. malaysian police say they raided a condominium this morning and tested for traces of the vx nerve agent. that chemical was used to kill the estranged half brother of north korea's half brother kim jong-un at the kuala lumpur airport. the indonesian suspect says she was paid $90 for what she thought was just a prank. meanwhile, malaysia is urging a north korean diplomat whom is wanted for questioning to cooperate with the police. right now iraqi ground troops are making major progress against forces in mosul. the u.s.-backed troops have already gained full control of the airport and military base on the southwestern edge of the city. now these territorial gains are the most significant so far. also iraq's air force has hit isis targets inside of syria for the first time in response to

get that all done before about 1:00. that's when we'll likely see a big change in our weather. and it could be our first round of springlike storms. so we do have a weather alert day as a result of that. because some of those storms could be pretty strong. right now looking off to the west. that's the direction the storms will be coming from. we just have some clouds sort of racing through our sky right now. the winds are picking up from the south and west. and temperatures are up as well climbing into the 60s. culpepper up to 64 right now. up to 63. reagan national now 62 degrees. and kind of humid. you can just kind of tell this is sort of a setup for a springlike day for storms to come in. right now leading edge of rain is into the panhandle of west virginia. just to the western edge of the panhandle. over the next few hours. just as some rain showers. but then some thunder and lightning develops along the 81 corridor. then closer to watch as we get to the afternoon. here's the hour-by-hour timing

this is as of 10:00 right now. but then by around noontime, that's when we could see some thunderstorms start to roll across the shenandoah valley, across the blue ridge, and south mountain. areas in the yellow and red and orange, that's where we could get the heavier down pours and hail. this is as of 2:00 p.m. montgomery county, loudoun, western fairfax, prince william. that's where there could be the strong storms. then it's between 2:00 and 3:00 they come into washington. prince georges county. and into charles county and farther south along the 95 corridor toward fredricksburg. then they move off to the east. clearing the area. sky begins to clear up. the sky will likely turn dark and stormy. just a slight risk of an isolated brief tornado. the greater chance, though, is for some high winds that may cause some damage. and for hail. we could get that brief burst of

come on through as well as some hail. and not a lot of rain because it's moving so fast. it'll be moving through quickly. temperatures 60s through the morning. then maybe even low 70s around noontime. then by 2:00, they roll through. we'll be back into the 60s. then upper 50s as we clear out. it starts getting windy. windy tonight. maybe gusts around 40 miles an hour and getting cold. down to the 20s and 30s tomorrow morning. breezy and sunny on sunday with temperatures in the low 50s. upper 50s monday and partly sunny. maybe a sprinkle monday night. 60s on tuesday. maybe rain showers tuesday afternoon into, perhaps, thursday morning. cooler than
