sky. sheena parveen has a look at conditions we'll see and what's going to be the improvement here? >> you can tell they are clouds because there's no sunlight reflection on water. there's not any shadows out there right now. 48 degrees and cloudy conditions, most of the day today is going to be kind of overcast. by noon, 48 degrees, staying cool and as we go through the afternoon, we'll be in the upper 50s. take a look at the radar, we have a few sprinkles near fredericksburg, not a big deal but you do see all of the cloud cover here. temperatures will be a little bit milder than yesterday. as we go into the middle of the week, aside from these spotty sprinkles we have a bigger area of rain approaching across the gulf coast states moving up towards our area by wednesday and we could see the possibility for strong to severe storms. i'll talk about that and the timing coming up. big cosby's lawyers are trying toef jurors brought in from another county to hear the comedian's case in

under way by the fbi. >> reporter: at the moment, a congressional intelligence committee is working their investigation into russian activity in this country. the president wants to stick to the issues and first speaking to the governors this morning at the national governor association. then talking to health care ceos. edward lawrence, nbc news, washington. all eyes will be on the president tomorrow as he addresses a joint session of congress. this comes at a time when americans remain divided on how he's performing. the latest nbc news/wall street journal poll shows his approval rating at 44% positive. that's a record low for a newly inaugurated president and also shows right now that there's a huge partisan divide as you might expect, his personal favorable rating stands at 85% among republicans and 34% positive among independents and 9% of democrats view him positively. one of the issues you could hear a lot about tomow

quickly has warmed up to the mid to upper 40s. so as we go through the day today, mid to upper 50s and only going to be dropping into the mid-40s overnight. another mild evening. locally a few sprinkles around fredericks burg but the bigger area of rain, that's what we're watching as we go to the middle of the week. here's the severe weather threat for wednesday from philadelphia down to parts of louisiana. the yellow shaded area shows us the risk for strong to severe storms. we could be cecing damaging winds and lightning and hail and cannot rule out an isolated tornado but those do look smaller at this point but we do expect some strong winds and thunderstorms on wednesday. here's future weather this afternoon. we could see a shower north and west and otherwise cloudy. showers later in the day and wednesday, 9:00 in the morning we could see showers north and west but overall looking fairly dry. middle of the day wednesday around lunchtime, showers around. better chance of thunderstorms once we

breaking news, new threats around the country targeting jewish schools and jewish community centers. in rockville, the charles e smith jewish day school received a bomb threat around 9:30 a.m. derrick ward sends us new video. police went to the gesher jewish day school for a threat around the same time and the school was evacuated. they were also reports of threats in florida, north carolina, delaware and couple of other states as well. this video might make you think twice of handing your kids the car keys. a teenager drove his car off the 7th floor o

massachusetts yesterday. as you can see trees fell on to homes there and power lines ripped down and some homes lost their roofs as well. the entire town is still under a state of emergency and some roads will be closed for the week. schools are also closed today. the storm prediction center says this is the first tornado to touch down in massachusetts in the month of february. people living in charles county, a tornado hit this weekend, take a look at this video from the storm moving through on saturday. that storm started in laplattea and swept up towards waldorf. the national weather service says it was an ef-1 with maximum winds about 90 miles per hour. no one was hurt. you don't expect to see this type of weather on the east coast this time of year. >> we expect to see something like snow. but temperatures are so warm it fueled these very violent thunderstorms which is what we had and why we had the hail you saw in the video. that was hail ng

you could hear it and see how big it was. but as we go into the middle of this week. believe it or not, we have another round of strong to potentially severe storms on wednesday. as of now it looks like later in the day wednesday but this is something we're definitely going to be keeping our eye on. for today your commute looks dry and anything you're doing later on today, dinner out, exercise, walking the dog, not too bad. cloudy and school but temperatures will be a little bit milder than yesterday. we'll get in about the upper 50s this afternoon. upper 40s across the area. fredericks burg is already at 53. 49 in lorton and 48 degrees in the district and the day i'm telling you about with the thunderstorms we expect on wednesday, temperatures will in fact be in the 70s again. here's a look at the radar. locally we're cloudy, maybe a few sprinkles today and storms are all down around the southeast. eventually they'll make their way up here. here's our severe threat. all of the area shad

storms as we go into wednesday. any severe storms could contain damaging winds and maybe 60-mile-per-hour or higher. lightning and hail and heavy rain. this looks mostly to be later in the afternoon own wednesday but we could still see showers ahead of it. clouds are locked in, maybe a shower north and west. tomorrow morning we could see a stray shower but late in the day we have a better chance. 10:00 p.m. tomorrow, showers moving through and now we look at wednesday. 9:00 wednesday morning, we can see rain to the north and west and cloudy skies to start off the day. by lunchtime, there's a chance we can see showers moving through. then we warm up to the 70s, these temperatures will help to fuel some storms later in the day. by 9:00 p.m. wednesday, we could have a line of strong to severe storms moving into the district, hopefully it comes after the evening commute. the timing could change but that's what it looks like right now. 59 degrees and mostly cloudy, we see the stormy weathe
