a couple trapped inside. one person died. a fire broke out on south grant street last night. >> we're live outside with more on that difficult rescue effort. justin? >> reporter: aaron, eun, good morning. at this hour restoration crews are working. the fire marshal is circling the scene but when the fire department got here they found heavy smoke conditions and fire on the first level of this home. another obstacle was clutter. there was so much of it that they struggled to open that front door. let's take you now to last night. the clutter again, did delay the official response here, we are told, especially when seconds count the most. inside they had two victims in here. one did die at the scene. another was rushed to the hospital and was seriously hurt. this is on south grant street here in arlington. neighbors say that the family has lived here for several decades and they also tell us too, that the response here was complicated by the conditions

take a listen. >> clutter by the front door. units were only able to open the door about 18 inches. >> it's a crushing thing to have seen them in the condition they were when they were brought out. yeah. you just don't expect ever to see that. somebody you know, you know. >> and again, this all happened close to 9:00 last night here in arlington. two victims, we are told, they have not yet been identified. one did die her on the scene. another is fighting life threatening injuries and the cause of this fire remains under investigation this morning. we are live here in arlington. justin finch, news 4. >> thank you. a family in capitol heights is mourning after a loved one was found dead after a house fire. a neighbor realized a home was on fire and called 911. as firefighters were putting out the flames they found a body. they've not identified the person or cause of death

her mother lived in that home. there was not a working smoke detector inside the house. a fairfax county teenager is on her way home and a man is behind bars accused of raping her. police in tulsa, oklahoma, found the suspect and the teenage girl in a motel on saturday. officers had been asked to keep an eye out for the girl. once found she was taken to the hospital and jonathan lewis was arrested. he's 26 years old. police tell us the girl is in good health and that detectives will keep working with her and her family. angie is at the live desk with news about a missing man in the district. >> and this missing alert from police, a man who may need his medicine. they're calling it a critical case. please keep your eye out for this man, 76-year-old george hines, he was last seen sunday. he was wearing a black puffy coat, black pants and

overnight. this is file video you're looking at. the new missile handed 200 miles away from japan. it was likely timed to coincide with the military drills between south korea and the u.s. >> president trump is expected to sign a revised travel ban today. a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order on the original ban more than a month ago. it temporarily blocked people from seven muslim countries from entering the united states. the president is still making headlines for his explosive allegations over the weekend. he is accusing former president obama of wiretapping his phones just before the election last year. a spokes person for president obama has denied those claims but this morning a new twist, a senior u.s. official tells nbc news that over the weekend james comey asked the department of justice

>> it's cold. the cold temperature is getting blamed for that story up in rhode island. two elderly sisters found dead in their home. police say the extreme cold temperatures there were probably a factor. the women were both 97 years old. their younger zuser hsister hadd them off after dinner and police say they both likely died not long after that. a teen girl will not be back in the classroom with her friends today after a tragic crash took her life. this happened in new jersey saturday night. police say the girl was following a scavenger hunt when a service vehicle hit her in westfield. an offduty state trooper was behind the wheel. the cause of this crash is still being investigated. it's now 6:14. we want to get to angie at the live desk, a car drove into a house in the district. what's going on? >> we just found out that that driver did crash into the building. police have confirmed is
