so far we know ten airports at least are impacted. mostly in the middle east and north africa. and so far, some middle eastern air carriers have said they're still waiting to hear more from the u.s. on this policy. now, homeland security plans to notify all these airports by today we are told of this policy change. those airports then after they have notification have four days to prepare for this new policy. now, this does not apply to any u.s. carriers and as for why this is happening as you mentioned homeland security says it is in response to ongoing threats to aviation from those regions here to the u.s. we also heard from passengers who say that's a very long distance to travel without any kind of in-flight entertainment. many planes shea they don't have that feature in them. for now we are live at dulles. >> you can see a full list of which electronic devices are

in the nbc washington app. president trump is headed to capitol hill today where he will be in full sale mode. he's expected to sell the plan for the affordable care act to house republicans. last night he pushed the plan to supporters in kentucky. >> thursday is our chance to end obamacare and the obamacare catastrophe and begin delivering the reforms our people deserve. >> the plan is set to be voted in the house on thursday, but it will include some changes. it would end the affordable care act's tax increases this year instead of next. it requires most medicaid recipients to work and baby boomers could see premiums jump 700%. day two of neil gorsuch's confirmation hearing for

court. today begins the question and answer portion of the hearing. he would replace the late supreme court justice scalia. also some well known pbs characters, kids and parents are expected to rally on the hill today. they want congress to reject president trump's budget proposal eliminating finding of pbs and npr. they also plan to deliver a petition with 660,000 signatures to members of the senate. police are trying to track down dozens of stolen guns that could be now on the streets. over the weekend police arrested three men for burglarizing three gun stores in three days. they used surveillance video to connect the crimes. police say this same white u-haul van showed up in all three surveillance videos. atf agents tracked down the van, followed the men and arrested them. >> we're impressed that in only a week's timeframe that they have apprehended the three people that broke into our

gotten from the atf is they feel they'll be able to recover the fire arms that were stolen. >> two of the men arrested are matthew jones and daniel quarrels. at the time of the gun store burglaries they were already out on bond for a burglary at a cvs store. they're expected to appear in court today on those charges. the smash and grab at a rockville gun store is still an open case. two people went right for the display cases inside the united gun shop on randolph road in rock vul earlier this month. 30 weapons in all were stolen. police are not saying whether this is connected to the northern virginia cases. the d.c. counsel wants to know what you think about the acting police chief new sham. a public safety committee is hosting the hearings and will vote on new sham becoming chief of police. it's up to the full council to

late last night. one of the passengers involved had to be taken to the hospital. you can see police investigating here at the rhode island avenue station. the red line was single tracking between there but that's all over now. this morning we're learning a tennessee teacher was allowed to stay in the classroom even after he was accused of kissing a student. that teacher is now missing with that same 15-year-old girl. elizabeth thomas' parents say they weren't told that another student reported seeing their daughter kissing 50-year-old tad com cummins. the two have been missing for more than a week. police have charged cummins with ki kidnapping and other charges. a candle light vigil will be held tonight for the emt killed by her own ambulance. she died in new york when a car jacker took off in her ambulance, hitting her as he fled. the man baltimore police

has turned himself in. antonio wright throw malatov cocktails into a home on saturday. one of the victim's mother said she didn't know her son had died on the fire until she saw it on the news. he faces several charges including murder and arson. before they rest he recorded a facebook video claiming he was not the man responsible. it was a horrible fire that killed six children. three other siblings survived that fire in january. a new playground will soon be built to honor their memory. students at city neighbors charter school where the announcement was made lost two of their classmates. the victim's father wants this new space to be a joyful one. >> a place to play, a place to grow and explore and come together. that's what -- that's what our

see the runway very well. amazing. back to you. >> all right. thank you. developing this morning as well, we're finding out smoke alarms may have saved a family from a fire in glenmont. montgomery county fire says a cigarette or something similar started a fire at this house. it caused $45,000 in damage. four people and their dog managed to escape. montgomery county says if convicted one or both of the rockville high school students accused of raping a 14-year-old classmate will be deported after serving their sentences. he says this is consistent with the county's long standing policy. the victim says 17-year-old jose monotano took turns sexually assaulting her last week in a boys' bathroom at the school. detainers are issued on individuals arrested on local criminal charges and whoou
