>> chopper 4 there over the scene on west dale court tonight. s we have new information from neighbors and police, shomari. >> reporter: good evening jim and doreen. this is a very tragic, sad situation out here. people who live in this neighborhood are just shocked, stunned after finding out a little girl's body was found in the townhouse behind me. right now, charles county crime scene investigators are processing the scene, gathering evidence, walking in and out of the home behind the yellow crime scene tape behind me. let's show you video from chopper 4 up above. just moments ago a sheriffs spokesperson said a man and the little girl are dead in the townhouse. we're on the 330 oc0 block of westdale court. when officers responded, they arrived to the house and a

thinking this was an active shooter situation. they found the man's body near the foot of the stairs with a gun next to it. they searched the house and found the body of the little girl. officers searched more and found a teenage girl and a woman with multiple gunshot wounds. right now they are at a nearby hospital in critical condition. now, i asked investigators if this is a family. they say it's too early to determine that. they are trying to determine the relationship, they did tell me, however, that detectives believe the man is the shooter and this appears to be a domestic related shooting. we're now going to hear from the sheriffs spokesperson and a woman who lives near the crime scene. >> it's very emotional for everybody here, especially our officers because when they first arrived on the scene, they thought perhaps they still had an active shooter case going on. >> it's really shocking. i'm upset. nothing goes on over here. it's usually quiet. >> reporter: that's right. a lot of people in this

neighborhood tell me it's relatively quiet. investigators are in the process of notifying next of kin, trying to notify relatives. meanwhile, they are still processing the scene and trying to determine what exactly happened here. live in waldorf, news 4. heartbreak tonight for another local family after a murder in south florida. >> the victim here just 25 years old from buoy, maryland. theodore teddy brown travels a lot for work. tuesday morning someone shot and killed him inside his florida hotel. news 4 meagan fitzgerald spoke to his family tonight. >> he had an appetite for love, for food, for music, for family. >> he's a beautiful child. he just hold you so tight, you say, oh, teddy. >> reporter: at just 25 years old, teddy brown had his entire

life ahead of him. >> teddy was a jack of all trades. teddy did maintenance, cooked. >> reporter: his cousin and grandmother say teddy was a hard worker. he was dependable and that's the reason why his catering company trusted him twice a year to travel to miami. his company was one of the food vendors at the miami gardens jazz festival. teddy was staying at the courtyard marriott, which is in miami-dade county. it's also where his life ended. police say his co-worker found his lifeless body in the hallway on tuesday morning just before 1:30. investigators say he had been shot. >> i feel so bad because i wish i was there to protect him. he was all alone in the hallway by himself. more than 80 people are signed up to speak. he will be the last to speak and take questions. a local nonprofit is suing for d.c. police records related to the arrests during inauguration protest. the partnership for civil justice funds says the information needs to be released before chief newshom is confirmed. police arrested 231 people on felony charges, rioting on inauguration day. the group suing says when officers use the kind of tactics that were used that day, they are required to file certain documentation about why it was justified. now the organization is suing for those documents under the freedom of information act. >> here at washington d.c. and nation's capitol, it is is one of the important jobs of the chief of police to uphold the constitutional rights of people to demonstrate. >> we reached out to npd for comment tonight. we were told

abundant sunshine and high temperatures were still ten degrees below average. the average high is 58 degrees now but we're only in the 40s. 47 the high temperature today. 51 in richmond but look back to the west here. 64 charleston, west virginia 67 in eastern portions of kentucky. much warmer air, just on the doorstep and it's going to come tomorrow in a big way. warmer pattern moving in. chance for showers over the next few days but no big storms. we need the rain but we won't see a lot of it but staying on the warm side for the entire ten-day period. i got the warmest ten-day forecast all year in about ten minutes. >> doug, thank you. a person of interest could help police crack the case of a murdered artist wide open, but they have to find him first. the man was picked up on surveillance camera here. police are also looking for corina bill's blue toyota. her body was found on tuesday in a basement

this is masood at the seat of an suv hitting pedestrians. one woman falling into the river. she's seriously injured but curt cochran from utah was killed. he and his wife melissa were on the last day of a european tour, posting photographs to celebrate 25 years of marriage. she's injured in the hospital. they are offering prayers here at the exact spot where the american curt cochran toppled over this bridge and tied. the driver then accelerating, slamming into dozens of people on this bridge on his way to parliament. there were many american survivors relieved to be alive. >> a car comes out of nowhere and hits four to five innocent bystanders on the street. it seems like pure evil and to be honest, i guess that's when a war zone would look like. >> reporter: tonight london is defiant, paying tribute to curt cochran and the other dead

bill neely, nbc news, london. usa hockey could ice out players who are boycotting the women's world championship. the entire women's national team announced it would boycott the games over wage and benefit issues, so usa hockey started searching for players to replace them. the women's team released a statement saying this is more than just about money but equal treatment for women players now and in the future. the u.s. women's team won silver in the 2014 olympics and gold in the last two would championships. a bittersweet day for prince william county police. they honored an officer who was killed on the job and recognized others who went above and beyond the call of duty. you'll recall she was shot and killed on her first day on the job a little more than a year ago. two other officers were seriously injured. all three earning the top award in today's ceremony, the gold medal of valor. rescue crews in south florida saved a construction worker left dangling from a high-rise building after the scolding collapsed underneath him. they say he was doing exterior work between the sixth and eighth floor when the platform tipped and left him hanging there for more than an hour. he is expected to be okay. probably -- >> doing his job. >> probably took awhile to calm down after that experience. my goodness. >> sure. we've got some little bit more cold weather ahead but -- >> yeah. >> good things after that? >> i think great things. i do not think we'll go below freezing again, at least for the next ten days but i think we may be done with freezing temperatures and that's very good news at least in the city. outskir

couple more days. out there now close to freezing in parts of the area but not downtown. downtown 40 degrees. a really nice night on the cool side but look at that wind out of the south at 13 miles per hour keeping things on the mild side. last night low 20s. we will not get that close tonight or that cold tonight but chilly 32 the freezing mark. 34 and cambridge coming in at 31 and 3 many 3 in coal pepper. nothing to show. we really do need to see the rain. we've seen clear skies all day today and continuing to see clear skies. it's clear towards boston and raleigh but it's a warm front extending to the south. to the north we have rain and snow but the warm front will move across our area during the day tomorrow. take a look at the high temperatures behind this front. how about kansas city? how about kansas city at 80 degrees today? 75 in

so tomorrow, tonight in the 40s. tomorrow we get into this air upper 50s and low 60s and then by saturday, this is the air we get to tap into mid to upper 70s as we move through the day. the cold air has been in place with a deep trough of low pressure. that's moving out. we'll see a beautiful ridge move in and talking very warm temperatures. some of the warmest we've seen in awhile out here, especially for the month of march. below average for the month of march even though we started march 1st with an 80 degree record high temperature. much warmer pattern. the cold air to the north and i think it stays there. this pattern, warmer pattern wants to stick around. it may stick around through april. future weather timing it out tomorrow. waking up around 8:00 to cloud cover and showers to the west and if we stay below freezing, we could see freezing rain in parts of the area. haserstown and wind chester but not a lot of moisture but clouds. we b
