>> we truly loved her like a sister. >> reporter: iyana was home for spring break. the shooting happened around 8:40 monday night. the shooter is still on the loose. >> i am forgiving whoever killed my baby because it's not going to bring her back. but what i am saying is if you're dealing with guns, if you got a shady lifestyle, i'm going to need you to do something with your life. >> reporter: this is the second shooting death in the family in recent months. iyana's cousin was killed in capitol heights in december. her parents say stories about her daughter are helping them in the healing process and they're relying on their faith to keep them strong. darby spencer, news4. investigators are still looking to see what

to kill his daughter before killing himself. he kill ed his daughters and thn themselves on thursday night. investigators say goodwin shot his wife but she managed to escape and get help. he didn't have a criminal record or history of domestic violence. we're now getting a look at new photos of a person of interest. this is in the death of a local artist. police are looking for the man in these images here. karina meal was found in a basement dead. developing right now, an 8-year-old boy and five other people are recovering this morning after a mass shooting. a total of seven people were shot in st. louis and a teenager was killed. police say there could be as many as three

accountability. muri muriel bowser supports him. the former president of penn state is appealing a verdict that could send him to prison for the next five years. graham spanier was found guilty of child endangerment in connection to the jerry sandusky case. sandusky is in prison for sexually abusing several children. specifically they said spanier should have called police when he heard of the abuse in 2001. he wasn't arrested until ten years after that. the university of maryland has a high profile march madness game today. the terps women's basketball team is playing oregon. game starts at 11:30 this morning. the coach says they're not thinking too far ahead. >> you know, obviously any time you get to a sweet 16, i mean, it's great teams that are left in the bracket. and so both teams are going to o battle it out for 40 minutes. >> if maryland wins, they will

commonwealth of virginia. the state health department releasing new figures that show the number of deaths increased in many counties. we can give you the breakdown from january to september of 2016. we'll start with arlington county. they had 12 deaths. in fairfax county, 52. loudoun and prince william county, they each lost more than 20 people to overdoses. we now know the terms of the plea deal sfr the man accused of opening fire in the d.c. restaurant. ed welsh could spend the next ten years in prison. he pleaded guilty to assault charges after shooting inside comet ping-pong. welch told the police he was investigating a fake news story about democrats and child sex trafficking. he will be sentenced later this year. today the faa is going to be investigating a tragic plane crash. >> and that tragic plane

was outside atlanta. it slammed into a home. only the plane pilot died. no one on the ground or in the home was hurt. you can see the dark smoke rising from above the crash site last night. witnesses say they saw the plane start to spin moments before it crashed. the cause of that crash is still unknown. and maryland governor larry hogan says he will veto a bill about education in the state. the protect our school act would limit how the state identifies low-performing schools. it would also prevent actions like trying to convert schools to private charters. the bill is a direct response to the federal every student succeeds act. about school accountability. hogan says the bill gets in the way of improving failing schools. it seems those who need a little extra medical attention will get the help they need in prince georges county. >> shomari stone explains how a new program will free up firefighters to let them respon

>> reporter: as tears fall down robin dickerson's face, she feels helpless in her bedroom. it looks like a hospital room. >> going places, you know, having children, doing things. i can't do none of that. >> reporter: she had two knee replacements last november and they became infected. >> it's like my life is taken away. >> reporter: she came home a month ago and says her insurance company won't pay for a nurse's aide. so she called 911 15 times when she needed help after falling down the steps. robin is one of 38 people who have repeatedly called 911. >> some people call for stubbed toes. >> reporter: the department launched a new program called mobile integrated health care to lessen the burden on the 911 system. the program has cut 911 cal
