this morning he may be sidestepping the blame, but democrats are calling him out on making a rookie mistake. kelly, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, sheinelle. today begins a new phase measuring the fallout for this white house and republican-led congress who were unable to deliver on a promise to overhaul obamacare. it seems that even with their stunning swing and miss, what comes next? so president trump kept his trade mark bravado in check a bit, a softer response than usual. he calls this defeat an interesting experience. >> we all learned a lot. we learned a lot about loyalty. we learned a lot about the vote getting processes. i'm disappointed because we could have had it. i'm a little surprised, to be honest with you. >> reporter: his surprise was shared by many who thought the republican majority would mean they could deliver on this. but a more moderate group of republicans who were concerned about their

conservative block known as the freedom caucus who wanted a more aggressive bill, together they derailed this plan so it was never brought for a vote and it's really on hold now. speaker ryan also takes a political hit here because he was unable to deliver. and one of the questions remains, can they work together now on something else? the president already talking about turning to tax reform. but another big question, will the defeat on health care affect other things on their agenda? that's part of what we'll be watching closely going forward. >> all right. kelly, thank you. let's take a look at other stories making headlines this morning. united nations officials say they are stunned at reports of as many as 200 civilian casualties in iraq. residents of the besieged city of mosul say the deaths are a result of a u.s.-led coalition air strike there. if confirmed it would rank among the highest civilian death tolls since the u.s. innovated

the effort to drive isis out of mosul is in its sixth month. a robbery at the bellagio hotel. sent gamblers and guests into a panic. several suspects broke the glass doors of a jewelry shop just before 1:00 in the morning local time and then fled through the parking garage. witnesses tweeted pictures including what is believed to be one of the suspects in a pig mask. the investigation is ongoing but there are no reported injuries at this time. check out this amazing video. most man meet shark stories don't end well. but these divers off the coast of florida made a lasting friend when they came upon a lemon shark who was in distress. the shark kept nudging one of the divers until the man finally figured out its problem. there was a giant hook sticking in the shark's belly. the diver pulled out the hook and the shark swam away happy. >> wow. don't try that at home. >> no, no. >> they clearly know what they're doing. >> brave diver e.

from the carolinas to california, there's a movement brewing and it's bringing men closer together one burpee at a time. >> it's about so much more than just fitness. i took a trip down south to see precisely what this new trend is all about. >> reporter: in charlotte, north carolina, just before a cold sun rises, a few dozen men gather together for 45 minutes of fitness, fellowship, and faith. the group formerly known as f-3 is 15,000 men strong spread across 18 states. one tv news guy in an orange hat. the founder dave redding started the

34 men. how did this come to be? >> a man and his wife when he starts having a family and working at a job, you know, you get a little lonely. you get a little isolated. tim and i we both got out of shape. >> you know they have gyms now. >> they do, you're right. >> you could do this inside. >> yeah. but what we found was that getting up and going to the gym was not sufficient motivation. i don't want to necessarily charge in the gym and get on the treadmi treadmill. but i o o and see the guys. >> reporter: six years later, there are roughly a thousand weekly volunteer-led morning meet yumups in cities from cleveland to seattle. rain or shine. and free of charge. but took to these men and the time they spend together is as much as workout for the soul as it is the body. >> for the me fitness is the last point. fellowship is important. >> i had no idea how much i'd enjoy it. men just start working and start

good morning. it's 8:26 on this saturday. i'm meagan fitzgerald. we're following some breaking news for you this morning out of laurel where a man was found dead. prince georges county police are calling it a homicide. officers found the man's lifeless body in an apartment complex on edinburgh lane. police tell us they were responding to a shooting but they didn't say if that's how the man died. we're now getting a new look at some photos of a person of interest in the death of a local artist. police want you to take a good look at this guy. officers want to talk to him. on tuesday,

good morning. welcome back. meteorologist tom kierein is standing by with a look at our forecast. sounds like it's going to be a good weekend to check out the cherry blossoms. >> yeah. they are at peak bloom now around the tidal basin. we will be at the mid-70s there and throughout much of the region this afternoon. a lot of cloudiness as well. then a shower moving in from the west. that's not going to be until later this evening. then overnight any light rain around willing ending before midnight. then during the day on sunday, a bit cooler with a blustery northeast wind. we'll be into the low 60s for highs on sunday afternoon with a partly sunny sky. then mid-day rain and sunshine back in the afternoon with highs reaching low 70s. and then increasing clouds tuesday into the mid-70s. then late afternoon and evening rain. after that, drying out, cooler wednesday and thursday. >> all right. thank you.
