anything about this case. today a team of army investigators will be investigating a crash. it slammed into the ground. the injured are in a baltimore hospital this morning. take a look, this is new video from southern maryland news net. it shows the scene moments after the helicopter came down at the bretton bay golf and country club. the helicopter was a training flight. witnesses saw the helicopter fall from the sky. >> we were sitting down and we watched the helicopter come by sitting very low. my brother made a comment, look at how low it is. it started going sideways and then it went down. >> major bradley becker said they are deeply saddened by this loss and are focused on supporting the family and friends who were affected by the

tragedy. no names of the crew members have yet been released. in case you're wondering, blackhawk helicopters flying above us are not unusual. defense department staffers tell news 4 that the army flies vips to and from the pentagon all the time. more than half of them started flying three decades ago. it's not clear in the aircraft that crashed was one of the older models. the supreme court is stepping into multiple kor controversial cases about the death penalty. >> this just came down within the last few hours here. the united states supreme court rejected arkansas's request to begin execution. the state was planning on executing these eight inmates in the span of ten days. two of those executions were set to take place last night but they're not happening now. the high court didn't

explanation. arkansas governor asa hutch chin son said he was, quote, disappointed by the ruling. lawyers for the inmates called the aggressive execution schedule assembly line killing. president trump will sign a new executive order that could have a big impact on u.s. jobs. they call it buy american, hire american. it requires the u.s. agency to buy more from american workers. it will move the h 1 b visa changes away from the lottery system. the president will outline the plan and sign the order at a tool manufacturing plant in milwaukee, wisconsin. meanwhile, vice president pence is working to assure japan that the u.s. will work with its allies.

details of what the vice president is telling leaders. the city of hyattsville will become a sanctuary city. the city council passed the ordinance last night. the ordinance prevents police officers and other city workers from providing a citizen's immigration status. it is a matter of public safety and all citizens should be able to trust local police officers. >> no child, especially a child in elementary school, should have to ponder over whether or not they are safe in their community. >> well, president trump has threatened to cut offer federal funding to sanctuary cities. for hyattsville that can mean a lot, $20,000. new security measures could be coming to jewish enters montgomery county. they're looking to plan on

tensions continue to rise. news 4's tracie potts is live on capitol hill. what message is the vice president trying to send to the country of japan today? >> reporter: largely angie and eun, the message is about trade. there are other concerns in the region that will likely come up about north korea, but the biggest concern today is trying to work a one-on-one trade deal with japan after the trump administration and the president himself killed the tpp, the trans-pacific partnership. now the president has promised he can work better deals with every country one on one, and that's the sales job that the vice president is there to do today. japan has two concerns about a one-on-one deal, particularly when it comes to opening their agriculture market. so those discussions are going on today. no details, but he's there today essentially to set a framework for how the discussions will proceed. >> and, tracie, the president is

and was grabbed by officers. yesterday the judge ordered her to stay away from white house grounds. this is a story you'll only see on news 4 as well. a long-time employee accused of stealing sensitive equipment inside of agency headquarters and accused of turning around and trying to sell it on ebay. federal investigators say they linked chris james to an ebay user selling nih equipment. they discovered a dozen pieces of equipment believed to be for sale inside a storage closet at n.i.h. now to a new push in northern virginia. a sex assault. a woman was attacked in a dumpster behind a fairfax county shopping center. this happened one year ago at a shopping center in franconia. now investigators are trying to jog some memories. >> assault and robbery. >> we don't forget. every case that comes

department gets the attention of a detective. that detective holds on to that case until that case is resolved or they retire. >> you might remember the surveillance video of a red car with a gray patch on the driver's side. police never found the driver. the 40-year-old victim told police the man who assaulted her also stole her belongings. detectives went door to door in a nearby apartment complex handing out flyers about the crime. anyone with information is asked to call police. 4:50. the search is on for a group of suspects involved in a robbery. this happened sunday evening. take a look at this video. this is around 5:30. the plane approached the wheaton metro station. looking for four suspects. you can see one of them in that moment, they punched the victim. here's a close jer look at all four. if you recognize any of the suspects you are asked to call metro transit police. >> we all shared t

welcome back. tax day. here are four things to know if you are one of the 450 billi0 b americans who hasn't filed. as long as your tax return is postmarked by april 18th, the internal revenue service will consider it filed on time. for help with that, the postal service has a list of locations that will be open

postage. if you don't, your tax forms will be returned. that's really important to remember. reminder, forget what you've heard about the irs not calling taxpayers. they hired private debt collection agencies this year. they may send you mailings and then call anyone who still owes money. don't give out private information. be sure you protect yourself. if you need more time, you can file for an extension. however, there are rules you have to follow. in most cases you can get six months more time if you fill out form 4868 by tonight. the due date for your full return can be delayed until october 16th. generally that's easy if you expect a refund, however, if you think you mayo taxes to the irs, you have to pay your estimated amou amount. there are penalties and interest charges. the penalty for late filing can be ten times higher than making a late payment.
