proper burial is turning into a labor of love. >> mostly stays to himself. >> reporter: it was an unlikely friendship. he was a flamboyant man, long time fixture in d.c.'s gay community. deloris young's world focussed on her five children and grand and great grandchildren but the two lived next door to each other in northwest for 18 years. >> i really liked it. he had his way. >> when he died february 5 at 84 deloris young learned he had no family left. his body was headed from the d.c. medical examiner's office to a mass burial plot. >> i refused to just leave him. i just can't do that. >> reporter: she asked a local funeral home to take the body. that is
