working to respond to those challenges. just behind that scene, perhaps you can see one of their trouble spots back there, a snapped power pole and tree debris on the ground below. i want to take you now to my left, perhaps your right, and you can see all these dark condos out here behind us. ridge road, you will see traffic being diverted in that area cutting through that strip mall parking lot. they're working around utility crews working there to restore power to those lines. i want to take you to video of downed trees we have seen. this is the presidential park condos. you see trees have fallen into that driveway area and also have fallen on two cars off metzerott road there. we have seen trees falling off of that entryway there. it is not yet been cleared so you will see difficulty as melissa mentioned traveling in and around that area this

morning. that's the latest here live in adelphi. justin finch, back to you. breaking news out of howard county this morning. take a look at your screen here. there is an arrest warrant for timothy powers. he managed to get away from the howard county general hospital last night. county police looked for him but they don't know where he is right now. they don't believe he had access to a car though. powers is a minimum security inmate and we're told that he was last seen wearing aburg begun did i sweatshirt. inmates in arkansas. erika gonzalez has the latest. >> reporter: the state of arkansas executed a death row inmate. the first in a decade. dell lee was executed last night before midnight. this after the u.s. supreme court declined to hear five last-minute appeals by his attorney.

suspected terror attack. erika at the live desk. >> we have information after last night's suspected terrorist attack. the paris investigators office leading the investigation. they found a pump action shotgun and knives in the gunman's car. he was killed in the attack on police. i believe this is new video coming into our newsroom of the rates that were taking place in the city overnight. one officer died and two others injured in the shooting. isis has claimed responsibility. meanwhile, there is a countrywide manhunt for accomplipolices. developing. she was wrongly held for years. aya hijazi is back in the united states. she's going to meet with the president today. she thanked president trump for

she's accused of abusing children through an organization she founded to help kids living on the street. she was found not guilty. they said the allegations are always false. larry hogan sr. passed away last night after suffering a stroke on saturday. in a facebook post governor larry hogan called his father an american hero. hoeg fwan sr. represented tpeope in congress. he was 88 years old. today family and friends will say good-bye to a soldier killed when a black hawk helicopter crashed on monday. army specialist jeremy conlin was 22 years old. he died when his helicopter crashed on a golf course. his memorial service is being held where he grew up near chapel hill, tennessee. it's still not clear why that

two other soldiers are still in the hospital. starting this weekend, getting to virginia from downtown d.c. is about to get easier. after two years the massachusetts ramp southbound opens tomorrow. you can drive directly on to the highway instead of using the ramp. this is part of the capital crossing project which won't wrap up until 2019. over to metro where there is some good news for riders this weeke weekend. metro has canceled the shutdown of the blue, orange tracks in d.c. trains will single track between the square and smithsonian. silver line trains will only run from wheelie west and balston. on the red line, the college park station will be closed. there is an emergency response on sunday. yellow line trains will only run

raining in the southern half. goldsboro road has cleared out of the way. pat cummings is being extradited to virginia. he took 15-year-old elizabeth thomas to live in a remote cabin in northern california. an amber alert was issued for the pair on march 13th. they were found yesterday after the caretaker for the cabin says he became suspicious and called authorities. thomas's father says he's relieved his daughter has been found. >> we're going to have to figure out what kind of state of mind she's in, of course, and probably get her some help. it may be a long road but, you know, at least we got her back now. we got her back. >>. covering prince george's

after a former prince george's county teacher is arrested. this time a substitute teacher and basketball coach is fatesing child pornography charges. news 4's megan mcgrath is outside the school where he was around elementary kids for nearly a decade. megan? >> reporter: certainly the allegations are disturbing. he's accused of uploading child pornography from his iphone to a drop box account. 34-year-old christopher spate was charged. investigators received a tip about that drop box account, a search of his capitol heights home turned up the exully responsible material. he said he admitted to

morning. close to 6:00 a.m. take a look over here. near pitch black. a number of condo buildings still in the dark. here off edwards way pepco crews are working to get their lights back on for them. way back there it does appear that this storm downed at least one power pole. i want to take you to some video we got earlier. road closures there between adelphi and metzerott road. that area, we saw cars coming to a strip mall parking lot and the crews working on power lines on that road, too. on metzerott we got a look at how strong the storms were. at least two trees down. some branches resting on top of parked cars. this morning we did find the condo resident now pulling up to all of this. >> i just want to get home. i'm just tired. i just want

they thought they were doing everything legally. they were on federal land and they arrested them. the group says it will fight the charges. police in frederick, maryland, said they caught another group of local businesses selling cigarettes to under age kids. a recent news 4 i-team investigation found a 7% increase in local businesses failing those checks in recent years. when the i-team went under cover they watched clerks sell to under aged teens employed by police. erika gonzalez has details of a shooting? >> right. they found a man dead on campus. they first got a call from a woman saying a man walked up to her, showed a gun, she struggled with him, that gun goes off. that guy runs off, she's okay. after that police got another call and that the
