a threat to strike australia, when you and your counterparts meet at the white house this morning, what can you possibly come up with to rein in north korea that hasn't been tried in the past and hasn't already failed in the past? >> i think what you're seeing is kim jong-un is starting to flex his muscles because he feels the pressure. last week the security council unanimously condemned what north korea's doing with their testing. china has been considerably helpful in putting pressure on him and he's just trying to show his strength to the people of his country. it's not going to work. >> but we've been talking about containing north korea for decades now and it's not working. what can you come up with? >> well, working with china for the first time, they have really been our partner in trying to make sure wehold him at bay and i think it's a new day when you have china and the united states working together on a statement to condemn north korea. they've put pressure on him. he feels it, that's why he's responding this way and i think it is a different day. what we have said from the

say is the united states is not looking for a fight so don't give us a reason to have one. >> it's interesting you say that. you said you think he's responding to the pressure by flexing muscle, by conducting more nuclear tests. i don't have to tell you, you have a very unstable adversary there. does the tough talk and the rhetoric, things like mr. trump saying if china doesn't help us here, we'll do it ourselves, we may consider a preemptive strike coming from administration officials, do you ever worry about the point of no return with words? >> well, i think no. that's not the case. and keep in mind he's trying to get the confidence of his own people so when he does these things, he's not necessarily doing them to all of us as much as he's trying to prove to his own people he can handle this. he's very much feeling the pressure. i think you're starting to see him get paranoid and i think you're seeing pressure come from all parts of the international community and i think we have to keep the pressure up. >> i think what savannah is getting at, madmb

unstable as kim jong-un, do you worry words might force him into a catastrophic mistake? >> no, and i think if you look at what is happening now, if there's a catastrophic mistake it's going to be because he's continuing to try to ins kate an issue. we'll continue to be stable and to have the international community stable. it's the reason why none of us are even trying to pick a fight with him. but we'll have to wait and see, what i can tell you the international community is very united. >> ambassador haley, every single leader says all options are on the table, they always say that. is a preemptive strike against north korea really being considered? is the administration actively planning for that? >> we are not going to do anything unless he gives us reason to do something. >> what's that reason? >> our goal is not to start a fight. >> what would that reason be? do you have that threshold in your mind? >> well, if you see him attack a military base, if you see some sort of intercontinental

exclusive interview she talked to her brother three times this weekend. daphne quinn says she wants everyone to know he's not a monster. >> he's done this horrible thing that he has to pay for but he's still my brother and i love him. >> reporter: cummins is scheduled to be arraigned in sacramento on federal kidnapping charges. his sister says he doesn't believe he kidnapped elizabeth. >> i asked him why. why would he do this? and the answer he gave me is that she wanted to run away and she wanted to leave. and he didn't want her to go alone and -- so he went with her so he could know she was safe. >> reporter: the 15-year-old and her former teacher were found with more than 2,000 miles away in a remote cabin in northern california with no electricity or running water, a camping stove, food, toilet paper and two beer cans. during their 39 days on the run, the pair was caught on surveillance video at an oklahoma walmart

and north korea will be a major topic when the president holds an unprecedented meeting at the white house with the u.n. security council. overnight, workers in new orleans began taking down the first of four confederate-era landmarks that were set to be removed across the city. this was done at night to avoid protests from supporters of the landmark. the mayor says he's committed to taking down three more statues in the coming days now that legal challenges to their removal have been overcome. and congrats to nasa's peggy whitson, she said another record. the 57-year-old spent the most cumulative time in space by any american astronaut, 535 days and counting. she already holds the record for most space walks by a woman with eight. she's also the first woman to command the space station. president trump is calling whitson this morning to congratulate her. >> that's an incredible number of days in space. >> any astronaut. can you imagine connecting that call? in arkansas caught on camera. take a look. you can see a little girl fall out of the back of a moving van. it keeps going as the man who filmed it races into action. it's a scene almost unimaginable. an emts dash cam rolling as the doors of a driving church van swing open. a four-year-old girl seen falling out of the back on to a highway. >> it was unbelievable. >> as the car slows down, the girl lies motionless. the driver and another motorist rushing to her aide. >> once i picked her up and put her in my arms it was heartbreaking. she just had this horrified look on her face. i just had to not think about my family and my children and focus on her. i. >> ciampoli says he was at the right place at the right time and as a licensed emt and volunteer firefighter the 31-year-old would never normally move a trauma patient but in this case he had to make a quick decision for her

airline is investigating an incident captured on video. a female passenger hysterically crying while holding her child on board an american airlines flight from san francisco to dallas. the woman allegedly clashing with a male flight attendant over whether she could bring her stroller on board. >> you can't use violence with babies. just give me back my stroller, please. >> reporter: witnesses said the flight attendant violently ripped the stroller away, accidentally striking the woman and narrowly missing her child. >> you almost hurt a baby! >> reporter: later, another passenger tried to intervene. >> hey, bud, you do that to me and i'll knock you flat. >> you stay out of this. >> reporter: not backing down, the two men got into a screaming match, nearly coming to blows. >> we all were in shock, it was a pretty -- it was pretty insane. i've traveled quite a bit. the lack of professionalism from that flight attendant and the fact that you had this crying woman and her two

and it was just -- it was a scene that was just kind of surreal. >> reporter: in a statement, american airlines says "what we see on this video does not reflect our values or how we care for our customers. we are deeply sorry for the pain we have caused this passenger and her family and to any other customers affected by the incident." after arriving in dallas, the airline suspended a flight attendant and upgraded the woman to a first class seat for her flight home to argentina, offering her a $1,000 travel voucher. this latest incident coming two weeks after this now-famous scene on a united flight. >> oh, my god! what are you doing? >> reporter: passenger dr. david dow was dragged off when he refused to give up his seat for commuting crew members causing a public relations fiasco. dr. dao suffered a broken nose, two broken teeth, sinus injuries and a concussion. three airport security officers were suspended and the united ceo has apologize. >> i want to apologize to our customers. again,wa

hurt. that's very important. we have the american airlines incident, right? >> yes, the latest incident. it was the shocking video, everybody's got cell phone video and it involved the flight attendant and the passengers and the video emerged this weekend and it was a woman holding a baby who was hysterically crying after an alleged crash with a male flight attendant on board with the american airlines flight. so some witnesses reported the conflict that started when the flight attendant ripped the stroller away from her. it narrowly missed the child which we kind of see on the video. then another passenger tried to intervene. take a look. >> you can't use violence with baby. just give me back my stroller, please. >> hey, bud? hey, bud? you do that to me and i'll knock you flat. >> you stay out of this! >> here's the thing. there was so much talk -- was it just last week, the united incident? >> a couple weeks now. >> so it's interesting to me

all of the flights have been on in the meantime before this one, i always found the flight attendants are in some ways extra nice and people are aware and everybody knows it's bubbling. >> since then, every flight is like me coming here, right? i flew from l.a. yesterday and i was on american and, it happened to be delayed, it was something that happened and we had to go back to the gate and the pilot came out of the cockpit and had this amazing calm voice and was like, "hey, everybody, i just want you to know that we have a little delay but i really appreciate everybody's patience." and it was like he just automatically calmed everybody down immediately and to be honest it's like round of applause. that you can for finally doing that. making us feel okay. >> and in this case american jumped in very quickly. american airlines says "what we see on this video does not reflect our values or how we care o

we are deeply sorry for the pain we have caused this passenger, our family and any other customers affected." and after arriving in dallas the airline suspended the flight attendant, upgraded the woman to first class for her flight home offering her a $1,000 travel voucher. that's how -- they handle it quickly. >> and they should. you look at social media and you say there's great things and bad things about social media and everything that happens in the world as being exposed but it's accountability. in your personal life i'm like, that's not okay but when you're talking about a business you're talking about a plight attendant whose job is customer care and they should be accountable. i love the fact that people are like ha ha! gotcha. >> in a statement the union representing the airlines flight attendants urges the public not to jump to conclusion saying it appears another passenger may have threatened the flight
