good morning, everybody. thank you for watching. we begin with the fight happening right now between metro and the biggest union. after metro sayings hundreds of workers fried calling out sick today. the system was still running smoothly this morning. the employees are calling for better working condition which is pay. there is a news conference about metro's sick leave policy. justin is live where this is happening in friendship heights. >> >> reporter: and that event starts in just a few minutes. told the union says they never back any kind of stakeout and any workers who did call out sick were following the three day sick policy now part of their union. policy is unsafe and unfair. and one of the many conditions they're not fighting against. >> looks to be a smooth friday morning rush at the carlton station. buses and training running early riders

>> what are some basics that people need to know when they're getting a puppy and when they're training. you have the reward only when good. you can reward bad behavior doing something negative like jumping. >> that's right. when we have training challenges, what we want to do is figure out what we can reward. we teach the dog what we want them to do. we make sure they're successful. we make sure we we ward them as quickly as possible. then we make it much harder to do the behaviors we don't want them to do. if you jump, something is going to walk away or you're going get a timeout. if you sit, oh, my goodness. what a good dog. you're going to get a treat and the person is going to greet you. >>. they start to understand. >> most of the questions about barking. one was about excessive barking and o

i've never heard of the on demand barking. people do that if they here at the door. >> it's actually called demand barking. i like on demand though. it's basically the jog barking when they want something. they want attention, they want their food. they want to go out the door. what you need to do is teach them that's not what is going to get them what they want. that's going get them -- again, that's going get them the timeout. that's going get you walking out of the room. if they're quiet and they sit, old neighbors in a different state that would go yip yip yip and i thought something had to be done. employees out there. so just for your dog so they don't eat all their food out of a bowl.
