at 9:00 on this saturday morning, your top stories. a murder investigation that is happening in maryland. a man died overnight. he was one of four people shot in germantown. three others are expected to be okay. and look at your screen right now, if you see this man, call 911 immediately. david watson is an escaped prisoner serving time for attempted murder. and he ran off in howard county yesterday and is still on the run right now. president trump marking his 100th day in office by spending the day up in pennsylvania. the white house says he'll be taking a tough stance on train by signing an executive order which called for the review of trade agreement. he's going to finish up today with a speech in harrisburg.

were outside, there you are. how does it feel out there? >> reporter: it is warm and muggy. we have a gray sky on the weather deck here in northwest washington. there's a mama mockingbird diving at me. i think she's worried i'm threatening her nest here. as we got everything all green, we have a gray sky. that's the view from the tower camera looking off to the west. what to wear today? dress for a summer-like day but have the umbrella ready. this afternoon we could get thundershowers. we are getting a few showers out of the mountains heading to the east. that's a little bit of light rain tracking across northern virginia into beyond including montgomery, loudoun, prince william, all this tracking east. and it should be out of here in another hour or so. the mets take on the first pitch at 1:05 but arriving at nats park at noontime in the mid-80s. during the middle part of the game, we'll be hovering near 90 degrees. toward the end of the game, it may be interrupted by a

we have since learned the man is in stable condition. here's footage from the scene. the investigators had the area between p and o streets blocked off. an suv there has a bullet hole in it. and we are talking about the massive fire near the university of maryland and college park that started on monday morning in an apartment building that was under construction. hundreds of firefighters have worked tirelessly ever since to put it out. the fire was an accident, but they don't know how it started. well, this morning marks 25 years since the beginning of one of the most violent moments. >> joe fryer is showing us how that time inspired to make one woman's day different. >> reporter: maesha taylor's doctor dreams were planted

good morning on this saturday. we are showing showers and thunder coming in from the west and tracking across maryland and virginia. later today, if you plan to get outdoor exercise. by noontime, it should be partly sunny climbing into the lower 80s.

mid-afternoon. after that we may get some passing thunderstorms. keep that in mind. the best time to be out and about will be after another hour into the mid-afternoon. you'll be out getting exercise. look at the other chances for storms over the next ten days in a few minutes. tom, we'll see you in a little bit. right now crews are wrapping up a big job on metro that could affect you if you drive into northern virginia. all weekend long crews are taking down a power crane at the herndon station part of phase two of the silver line. the work started last night at 10:00. it's not going to wrap until 5:30 monday morning. as for what is happening now on metro, we're almost there. but the last safetrack surges could cause some major disruptions. metro announced it will close several stations instead of keeping them open and stable tracking trains. this is going to make things move faster. here's wt

metro is closing 15 orange line stations. new carollton, landover, cheverly, deanwood and minnesota avenue. for surge 16 on the red line, the shady grove and rockville stations will be closed until late june. once all the safetrack work is finally done, metro will cut back its hours to get more work done in the overnight. remember, the fare increases take effect come this summer in july. now to a story that you saw first on 4. hundreds of d.c. government employees will start noticing less money in their paychecks next week. it's not going to fall. the former workers did not have medicare checks withheld from their paychecks. the problem dates back at least a decade. and the cause could be a range of issues. i

breaking news. this is happening in northern virginia in the alexandria section of fairfax county. police tweeting out this morning that a man has been shot and killed on general washington drive. that is not far from where 395 meets the beltway. and we're told that the suspect is in custody and confronted and killed someone he knew. fairfax county say another suspect took off. and another homicide, well, that is one here in montgomery county, maryland. the deadly shooting happened there overnight. >> a man was also kill in germantown as we mentioned. one of four people. derrick ward has the latest details in montgomery county. >> reporter: we're here on the scene this morning on kitchen house way in germantown. take a look, police are still investigating and doing sweeping outside of this house. this happened at about five minutes before 1:00. police were called

when they got here. some were in the house where the shooting occurred, but some of the victims ran from the back of the house through neighbors yards. one victim made it to a neighbor's deck and had to be taken out through that neighbor's house. now, we don't have any identities of the victims yet but know one male did not survive the shooting. so the other male and the two other females have injuries that are described as nonthreatening. police are working on a motive and description of the suspect. and this time we don't have any of that information. in germantown, derrick ward, news4. also developing, we now know that a woman was kill in calvert county. they say that you should stay inside and lock your doors. they believe a man killed his wife on raw hyde road and are looking for james harley jr. who shot his wife tanya last night and left. police are actively searching for

speaking of an active search, we are coming close to 24 hours since an escaped prisoner was last seen in maryland. this is him right there, david watson. apparently he overpowered a guard and ran away yesterday. howard county police say they looked for him all night and are still searching for him right now. watson was in jesup for a psychiatric evaluation. you can identify him by the tattoos including some on his face and arm. the word "thin" on his arm and "evil" is on his neck. if you see watson, call 911 right away. we are waiting the see if there are any political consequences after another missile launch in north korea. officials in the u.s. and south korea say that the launch failed. you're looking at video right here. president trump tweeted that north korea disrespected china by trying to launch that missile. earlier this week, mr. trump said that north korea should be heading to a, quote, major, major conflict. all right. staying with president trump as the topic he

100th day in office in pennsylvania. it's there he'll sign a new executive order calling for the review of trade agreements. that will be followed by a speech at a rally. his time in office has been a whirlwind from health care to tax reform to the southern bo d bord border. to items that stick out are the appointment of neil gorsuch and the missile strike in syria. so the justice gorsuch process took 66 days, that's two days faster than the average for the other eight current justices. and earlier this month the u.s. fired 59 tomahawk cruise missiles at isis underground tunnels. that happened in syria killing isis members leading civilians untouched. now two setbacks include the saturation of trump's campaign and presidency with issues stemming from russia. and speaking of the campaign, the biggest pitch we heard was from candidate trump. the repeal and replacement of
