panhandle, alabama, georgia, mississippi. back to you. >> following new developments from capitol hill now where lawmakers have reached a deal on a spending plan to avoid a government shutdown. that $1 trillion plan would fund the government through september. it does not include funding for a border wall but does set aside money for border security measures. the plan includes money to strengthen the military and another round of private school vouchers for students in the washington school system. news 4's tracie potts will have more. immigration front and center in many cities including the district today. thousands of people are expected to march in may day demonstrations. they're protesting against donald trump's efforts to boost deportation. union members traditionally march on may 1st for worker's rights. here in washington people will gather at noon at lamont park in

d.c. police are looking for 16-year-old sade williams. she was last seen on saturday at call place. 5'6" with brown eyes and black hair. she was last seen wearing a black shirt, tan pants and white tennis shoes. if you see her, call d.c. police. maryland state police say speed caused a motorcycle accident in prince george's county. a 32-year-old man was killed when he lost control, skidded and hit a guardrail. this happened on largo avenue. he was riding with a group of motorcyclists when it happened. maryland state police have seen a spike in motorcycle crashes since the weather became nicer. a tacoma park police is recovering after a man ran over his foot. he

over the officer's foot. two area officers will be added to the national law enforcement officers memorial. ashleigh winden was killed hours into her first shift on the job last year. prince george's county officer was killed during friendly fire during a shootout in a police station in landover. their names will be added to a list of a memorial. 4:32. starting today the national park service will begin installing parking meters near the national mall, tidal basin and enforcement will not start right off. th

the trains were forced to single track for a few hours. service is expected to be back to normal this morning. in april metro may have extended its safe track work on the blue and yellow lines, but crews didn't finish all of that work. our news partners say wtop say they plan to delay it. the snow response suspended some of that work which is planned for later. a training exercise turned into a real life rescue in fredericksburg. stafford county fire and rescue units were doing training and they noticed two people on the river were in trouble and needed help. they performed a water rescue. a third person was pulled out of the water by someone nearby. everyone is expected to be okay. timing is everything. >> clearly. dozens of volunteers spent

hold until the end of the budget year, the end of september. it provides more money for medical research. that was a big one for democrats. it holds on to health care for coal miners making that a permanent fix. it gives president trump half of what he wanted on defense spending and border security, and there is no money in the deal for border walls. >> tracie, what can we expect on the republican effort to repeal and replace the affordable care act? >> vice president pence says it's going to happen. they won't come to the table if it's all about replacing obama care. the sticking point this week, eun, could be whether or not pre-existing conditions are built into this bill. the president insisted in an interview yesterday, yes, if you have a pre-existing condition that will be covered under the health care plan, but the issue seems to be where will it be covered. the language in the latest bill that's making its way

capitol hill seems to suggest that states would have an option to opt out of that. some states it might be covered, others it might not. >> tracie potts, live on capitol hill for us. tracie, thank you. 4:47. former virginia governor bob mcdonald said he, quotes, feels vindicated after his corruption charges were overturned last year. if he were to do it over again he wouldn't take any gifts. a straw poll is giving maryland democrats a look at who could be in the best position to take on the governor. baltimore county executive kevin kamenetz came in second. benjamin jealous came in third. he describes himself as a baltimore city public school teacher who has gone on to

entrepreneur. he didn't get any votes in that straw poll. we're working to learn when brian williams will be in court. he intentionally hit an officer with a car. they called officers to report a fight possibly involving a gun. they tried to arrest williams, police say he hit the gas, hit the female officer and sped off. the officer wasn't hurt. police eventually caught up with williams on columbia pike. he is facing a slew of charges including felony hit and run and driving with a suspended license. a man who was supposed to spend 100 years in prison for trying to kill a woman, he is out and on the run. david watson escaped on friday as he was being taken to the hospital in maryland. howard county police along with u.s. marshall service believe that watson has moved out
