surveillance cameras on campus don't offer much help in identifying the person who appears to be a man. the accompanying flyer confirms police are investigating the incident in which bananas in nooses were found as a hate crime. it reveals the subject dressed in black may have worn a hat or mask and may have entered a white or silver sedan on rockwood parkway. hundreds of students walked out of the town hall meeting this afternoon and began marching across campus. pressure is increasing on school administrators to respond to repeated racist acts. the frustration hoping to share lessons he learned in civil rights struggle. >> we always pray. we prayed. >> despite the fact that this is finals week,

be. >> it doesn't have a place in the game. i thought we moved past that a long time ago. >> two games to go in the series. wizards in boston. they needed overtime for game two. new at 11:00 tonight detectives believe a man accused of soliciting an ashburn girl for sex may have pursued other teen victims here and across the country. police arrested 35-year-old derek lamar jones. they tell us he has a history of meeting teenage girls at comiccon type events and posing as someone in his early 20s. in march police say he contacted a teen and provided transportation for her to travel to baltimore to meet him.

seven cities around the country since march and want to know if he has tried to contact anyone else. reconstruction crews are digging through debris trying to figure out what led to a very serious crash in german town this evening. we learned an infant was among six people taken to the hospital. we are told some have serious injuries. six cars were involved. the crash happened during rush hour. >> turning to our weather and things turning much cooler as we head into the middle of the work week. >> sounds like it will be feel more like march than early may tomorrow. >> average high temperature in the low 70s. today beautiful conditions across our area. we hit a high of 80 degrees. most everybody in the mid to upper 70s across the region. 76 in dulles. 79 down towards fredricksburg. i am tracking a storm system.

on a car full of teenagers. police say the car refused to stop and was driving away from officers. one of the bullets hit edwards in the head. they are working hard to quote deal with the loss of our beloved jordan. >> thank you. alton sterling is trending on twitter hours after the justice department decided not to charge police officers in connection with his death. sterling, you may recall, was the man selling cds outside a store in baton rouge last summer and police say he fit the description of someone who threatened someone with a gun. officers tackled him and videos showed them shooting him on the ground. sources tell nbc bringing federal civil rights charges in a case like this is difficult and requires proving

different outcome for a similar case in south carolina where a white officer pleaded guilty to federal charges of using excessive force in the death of walter scott. scott was unarmed when michael slater shot him five times in the back. slater stopped scott for a broken tail light and scott ran away. slater's first trial ended in hung jury. as part of the plea deal the state will not file new charges against him. he faces life in prison but could have his sentence reduced. they are two men hoping for your vote in 2017. tonight the democratic candidates for governor of virginia answered questions at a forum. they took turns behind the podium. they both took swipes at the trump administration. some more veiled than others. >> needs to be inclusive. we shouldn't discriminate against anybody because of sexual

extra police monitoring a neighborhood in hill east neighborhood. 30 shots fired from three different guns all happening in broad day light monday. some of the bullets nicked the fence of the housing complex at 13th and g southeast. nobody was hurt but that is not making neighbors feel any better. >> this just seems like with the number of shots potentially more dangerous weapons used and the time of day. so we are angry and we would like answers and a resolution. >> police say they are looking for at least two vehicles that may be connected to yesterday's shooting, a gray nissan altima and orange colored van. back here at the live desk we learned that two police officers have been shot on the south side of chicago. a spokesman for the police department tweeted that two officers are in stable condition after getting shot by someone who was riding in a

a messy room mate can make a living situation pretty dreadful. it went a step forward in fort washington, maryland. things got down right dangerous. >> heated argument sparked a fire literally. news 4's shomari stone has more on this peculiar case in prince georges county. >> reporter: there is an unusual story about this boarded up house in fort washington. just ask the state attorney's office. >> certainly not something you see every day. >> reporter: according to these court documents seven room mates rented this house but one of them was allegedly messy. her room mates were talking about it and she was listening. >> the defendant allegedly overheard that. >> reporter: upset she walked to the basement and

play golf. noon kids at recess looking great. you can probably still eat lunch. 68 degrees, great afternoon. nice 7:00 temperature there around 65:00 degrees. a.m. jacket you probably need that. you can do the short sleeve in the afternoon. sunglasses a must. no need for the umbrella. we won't need that until thursday night when another storm moves in. temperature around 69 degrees. friday as the system moves in we get to 72 degrees. heavy rain is going to be the main factor. rain early. some of the rain heavy. i think over an inch easily, maybe two inches in some spots. look at the pattern here. average high temperature in mid 70s. we may not hit 60 many of the next ten days. it's really quite amazing. seven of the next ten days if you have games this saturday it is quite cool if you are thinking about touring around the city.
