intentionally set a woman on fire. and the health care vote is on. congress ready to try again to replace obamacare in a matter of hours. good evening. tonight that inmate, that dangerous inmate who escaped in maryland last week is finally back in custody. >> david watson is his name. he managed to break free last friday while being transferred to the hospital for mental evaluation. it started a days long search. somebody reported seeing a suspicious man in the woods. >> police say the 28-year-old man freed himself from handcuffs and waist chain while riding in a prison van and then overpowered officers. police tell us they found watson lying inside an 18 inch drainage

pipe. he was in good health. they are promising more updates tomorrow morning. >> he is facing charges and serving sentence of 100 years in delaware for attempted murder. more breaking news in what sounds like a disturbing case of domestic violence. >> a woman apparently set on fire tonight in the district. police responding to the call at a motel on fourth street just off new york avenue. our shomari stone is there live with details for us. >> reporter: good evening. we were the first on the scene here. one woman walked up to me and said this is so disturbing, how could someone become so angry that he would allegedly set a woman on fire. let's roll video for you. an employee at the hotel told me a man lit a woman on fire in a room on the first floor about 9:00. he got away before police

arrived. medics drove the burned woman to the hospital. d.c. fire, ems and fire investigators were here and left moments ago. to show you the process we called police and they tell us that there was a domestic disturbance at the hotel. we don't know the woman's condition but we do know that she was transported to the hospital with burns. we'll continue to stay on top of this story and bring you the latest details as they become available on our nbc washington app. live here in northeast d.c. i'm shomari stone news 4. we could be one step closer to a major overhaul of the nation's health care system. republicans scheduled a vote tomorrow on a bill to replace the affordable care act. the house majority leader promises they have enough republicans on board to pass it. the last bill

it's been amazing outburst of support and i am thankful to members of student body and the faculty, staff and administration for all of their help. >> the d.c. community is invited to a meeting at 2:00 tomorrow at the center on the campus. we have just learned there was a similar incident at the university of maryland last week. campus police tell us a noose was found in a fraturnity building. on april 27 called the act despicable. campus police are investigating this act as a hate incident. a high school student took an assault rifle on to school property this week and now he is behind bars. that's not all he is accused of doing. turns out the gun was stolen from rockville city police along with fully loaded magazines and a shot gun. a school resource officer spotted him walking into

black bag and came out empty handed and drove off. the car he was driving also turned out to be stolen. police found the weapon when they searched the trunk. a blaze broke out on a playground near a school. it started as a call about a brush fire but when crews arrived at aurora hill park they found playground equipment covered in flames. students at a nearby school stayed inside while firefighters put the flames out. investigators tell us the fire does look suspicious. service could be back to normal tomorrow after a train hit and killed someone on the track. that happened this afternoon. the train was heading from new york to miami when it hit somebody. service was suspended for hours then the trains began single tracking which caused long delays. no one on the train was hurt. she was a successful journalist, wife and mother who thought she knew everything she
