66 and 95 looking good overall. we'll talk about travel times coming up. >> melissa, thank you. breaking news overnight now. we're working to learn the identity of someone killed in a crash. take a look at the mangled car. that road was shut down for some time. alexandria police say one person was killed and two other people were hurt and they're recovering. 6:03. let's check in with angie goff with new information about a ship wreck. >> two ship wrecks, eun. this is coming from the united nations refugee agency regarding two shipwrecks that happened in the mediterranean over the weekend. officials saying nearly 250 refugees are missing and appear dead. you are looking at one of the rescue missions off the coast of sicily

we know that more than 50 people, a lot of women and children, were saved. as we mention, this is a journey that brings up the total missing or feared dead to 1300 since the beginning of the year according to the u.n. refugee agency. back to you, eun. a warning from parents after an online sting investigation caught these min men. most are from virginia and one is from maryland. >> justin finch is live with how police busted them and what parents should know. justin, good morning. >> reporter: aaron, good morning. fairfax county police want families to understand that sexual predators are very real. that they can be anyone anywhere and that is especially true online. now those eight men were netted in a three-day sting led by

loudoun county sheriff's office. detectives posing as children saying they were solicited quite quickly. they set up the in person meetings. these children meet strangers they found online. in this case these eight men met police. they say to set guidelines, train your kids to avoid suspicious activity. limit your kids' screen time and have continuous conversations reminding your children not to share their personal information, their full names, their phone numbers or even their addresses. >> that's one of the main reasons why we're putting this out and we want parents, everybody to realize that, you know, don't look away from this. don't deny it and please be vigilant about watching your children's online activity because it happens all

away. take a close look to see if you recognize him. he forced his way into a woman's apartment and sexually assaulted her. 6:07. a live look at capitol hill and the white house where people are still reacting to former acting attorney general sally yates's testimony. the big development that she told the white house that then national security adviser, michael flynn, quote, could be black mailed by the russians. that's because he lied to his bosses about the contacts with the russian ambassador. nbc news learned that the president barack obama warned president trump about hiring flynn two days after the election. georgetown university police are investigating what they're calling a hate crime this morning. they say someone wrote an anti-semetic message in a restroom close to a jewish meeting space on campus. first reported on

the graffiti included a death threat. heather cook was driving drunk and testing when she hit and killed a bicyclist in 2014. she was supposed to spend seven years in prison. today cook will ask a parole board in baltimore for early release. she was sentenced two years ago for that deadly crash. supporters of the victim's family told our baltimore affiliate she could be released so early. a pilot's union is getting blamed for the chaos that broke out in ft. lauderdale. this turned violent. angie goff is at the live desk. >> i've been going through this on social media. a lot we can't show because it gets so crazy. the airline is giving an explanation. after all of the cancellations september passengers into a real

yesterday. a law enforcement source says his motive is believed to be robbery. the serial killer that terrorized one of the largest cities has been identified. phoenix police didn't have to go far because he was already in jail for murder. he's facing 26 additional charges. police say between 2015 and 2016 he shot and killed nine people in their driveways and in their cars. police say he only knew one of his victims. the rest were random targets. police narrowed in on him. a new twist in an infamous murder case. the man once convicted of killing d.c. intern chandra levy is now back in his native country. they released this video of ingmar guandique. he was an undocumented immigrant and he was serving time

charged with levy's death. he was found guilty in 2010. he was granted a new trial based on false witness testimony. the case was dismissed last year. you may have seen the violent video, a teenager throwing a 68-year-old woman into a pool. he's now facing charges. a warning, this video may be upsetting. take a look here. that is a 16-year-old picking a woman up. this is in the miami area, slamming her to the ground and then he dragged her across the ground and threw her into the pool. the woman was complaining about loud noise apparently trying to break up the party here. police say the teen turned himself in after that video blew up online. he said, quote, i messed up and i have to own up to it. police charged the teen with battery. it's now time to turn to the forecast. sheena, a really chilly start. >> yeah. >> you can feel it. i

made his way into the atrium condos on sunday morning just before 10:00 and he went door to door posing as a maintenance worker on a particular floor until a woman actually opened her door. there was a violent struggle and then she was sexually assaulted. anyone with information about this case is asked to call arlington county police. back to you now. >> molette green live for us in arlington. thank you. working for you this morning to shine a light on the growing problem of human trafficking. it can affect every family and as one expert put it, if you have the internet in your house, your child could be talking to a predator right now. running away, skipping school and having a cell phone that you or your child did not purchase are just a few of the warning signs to look out for. those who work with victims of sex trafficking say these warning signs are often mistaken for bad behavior. >> it's often happening under the radar, under the lens of people thinking that's just a run away

anti-semetic message in a restroom close to a jewish meeting space on campus. this was first reported on saturday. graffiti included a death threat according to the school newspaper. both the anti-defamation league in washington and the university are condemning the vandalism. a first daughter will soon be a student at georgetown. tiffany trump is a university of pennsylvania graduate. eric trump is a georgetown graduate as well. the national park service will literally be draining the swamp near the white house. lafayette park is a popular spot. federal officials tell the news 4 i-team they need to fix irrigation in the park. the project will be divided into thirds. the entire park won't be shut down at once. crews will renovate the park's historic fountain.

throughout the year. violence at the airport. tensions turned into chaos at the ft. lauderdale airport overnight. this is all happening because of contract negotiations between spirit airlines and its pilot. here's a video. the video shows police tackling people at the airport. there was apparently a fight between passengers and officers. hundreds were stranded there after waiting for hours and some are still there right now. spirit says it didn't have enough people to fly the planes and now it's suing the airlines pilot association. the airline says the disruption was not legal. spirit airlines flies into bwi marshall. 6:49. pretty incredible story here. >> oh, wow. >> a 10-year-old girl from florida managed to fight off almost a nine foot long alligator with two fingers. >> kerry sanders sat down with the brave little girl in an exclusive
