travel times coming up. 6:02 now. authorities across virginia are searching for a missing 8-month-old baby girl. khloe johnson was taken in virginia. keir johnson, her mother, is missing as well. they may be in johnson's car, a 2013 black kia optima. it is 6:02. breaking news now out of northern virginia where crews have just put out a fire at a town house in lorton. >> justin finch arrived on the scene. what do you see now? >> reporter: hey there, eun. good morning. no injuries to report in this fire. the hall that caught fire is behind us. 8500 block, that home is still smoking that upper level.

that crime tape spans three town homes here. we understand this did reach an adjoining home. residents are going to be displaced as a result. we are hearing on scene that the people who live in the center home do not appear to have been home when the fire broke out. those two families in those two homes are likely going to be misplaced for quite a while. fairfax county fire rescue remaining here putting water on hot spots and keeping an eye on the fire for potential problems. they're continuing to put out this fire and making sure it does not flare-up. at this point we have no reports of any injuries. i'm justin finch, news 4. >> thank you, justin. >> no means no. no means no. >> reporter: more than a year afterun

university students marched protesting the alleged rape of two female students, there is now a lawsuit holding the school at fault. some of the allegations are hard to read. >> last hour we shared the allegations made by two of the women. now megan mcgrath has the accusations against a campus police officer. megan? >> reporter: good morning. there are five current and former howard university students who are part of this lawsuit. they are identified only as jane doe 1 through 5. now in 2014 jane doe three she had experienced sexual and physical abuse at the hands of a campus police officer. she told university officials that she wanted counseling because she was depressed and suicidal following the rape. weeks passnd

jane doe 3 said she received no help from the university. now the lawsuit says she requested a record of her report from the counseling sector. people will judge her for her file. the lawyer representing the five women says the lawsuit was filed only after the university failed to help. >> these young women came to us after they had made loots of efforts on their own and advocates trying to help them, going to the administrationts o efforts on their own and advocates trying to help them, going to the administration first reporting it. >> two of them say they were assaulted by a student resident advisor. i'll have more on that coming up at 6:45. back to you guys. >> megan, thank you. 6:06. in an e-mail a howard

spokesperson told news 4 the university could not comment on the lawsuit. the statement went on to say, quote, the university has been and remains committed to diligently investigating any such area for faculty staff and students. >> 6:06. captured at crofton middle school before a teacher found a noose hanging from a light. this is the third incident of nooses found on school campuses in our area in just three weeks. news of that incident spread quickly and caused a lot of concern. >> some students were texting their parents to make them aware. parents were calling the school. >> we're hoping our students realize the severity of these incidents and realize they have an impact on members of our community. >> take a look at the suspect. school officials believe the noose was placed on a light after they gained access to the roof at some point on wednesday. call police if you

dinner with the president to retain his job. sources say it was requested by the white house and that comey would have never told the president he was not under investigation. in that same interview the president said he had planned to fire comey all along. that contradicted previous explanations from the white house. acting fbi director andrew mccape that comey had been fired in the part because he had lost the confidence. comey is widely respected and nbc news has said they will investigate it. the president would not be warmly welcome at the fbi. heads up this weekend. cyclists taking to the streets of d.c. for the d.c. bike ride. a lot of roads are going to be closed. this is on sunday. riders of all ages, all abilities are going to be able to roll through 20 miles of d.c. streets without dealing with traffic.

hour and flipped on to its side. today joint services will be held in south boston for the doctor and his wife. they were brutally murdered in his condo after dr. field texted a friend to send police. they found the suspect inside the condo when they arrived and shot him in the standoff. chilling revelations in a northern virginia murder hearing. a teenager accused of murder told her 15-year-old victim, quote, i will see you in hell. that testimony came yesterday at a hearing for 17-year-old venus romera harietta. she is being charged as an adult. she was the lead attacker of alex sandra reyes reva after stabbing her. investigators believe revenge was the motive. the suspected member of the

ms-13 game blamed the gaithersburg teen for the killing of her boyfriend just a week earlier. 17 after the hour right now. $370,000 has been raised to support the family of a murdered delaware state trooper with ties to our area. corporal steven ballard is from bowie. he was shot and killed last month while investigating a suspicious vehicle. the suspect was shot and killed by police after a standoff that lasted nearly a day. today is national military spouse appreciation day, and one very special spouse will receive a big honor. today the title of military spouse of the year will be awarded to one very deserving person. one of the candidates is from our area. she's from springfield. mother of six. a veteran herself and has raised her children through her husband's four long deployments. you can see whether she wins the title today on facebook at noon. we put a link to the announcement in our nbc washington facebook page. you forget the families

wood frame. the two surrounding homes, the beige home and blue home have taken some smoke and fire damage. the beige house taking the most damage buckling under the heat and intensity of the flames. i want to give you another view of the fire from the front. you can see at least three homes there are behind fire scene tape. we do understand that one of those fire damaged homes, we're hearing the people who live in the center home are not believed to have been home when this fire broke out this morning. now back out live, we do have fairfax county fire investigators on scene here surveying this property seeing how all of this may have broken out this morning as they continue to look for a cause of this fire. we also have firefighters continuing to douse this fire, continuing to knock out hot spots that may be inside and could flare-up here. that is the latest live here. back in to you.

another car on route 4 in upper marlboro last november. police say he fled the scene and was fourchtd hiding in the woods. he was in his county owned car at the time of the accident. this is franklin's third time crashing vehicles. tracie wilkins will be in court for that hearing. follow her on twitter. learning more about an fbi raid in annapolis. the president of strategic campaign group said the investigation is connected to a lawsuit filed after the race for virginia governor. ken cuccinelli sued the firm after he lost that race to terry mccullough. the company and the political action committee raised more than $2 million and gave his campaign 10,000. it is not clear how the raid is connected to that case. bending the rules to get the best schools

with their story. megan? >> reporter: well, good morning. the five women are either current or former howard university students, and they are identified in this lawsuit as jane dough 1 through 5. now jane doe 4 and 5 say that they were assaulted in 2015 and 2016 respectively. one of the attacks happened in a dorm room. both of the assaults were reported according to this lawsuit to officials at howard university, but the women say that it took months to get the help that they wanted from the university and that they experienced anxiety and were afraid at times to be on campus. now there are other bill, in this lawsuit as well. some of them saying they were assaulted by a student r.a. who was working here on campus, he was not immediately removed from his job. another woman says that
