and your mother's day forecast in a few minutes. tom, we will check in with you then. coming up on 9:01, new developments in what is a triple shooting. this is working in the alexandria area. >> and news4's derrick ward just arrived on blue stone road. derrick, what do you got? >> reporter: this is the 200 block of blue stone road. the extended stay hotel here at this location. you can see police are still on the scene after this incident that actually happened at 2:18 this morning. what brought them here was the report of shots fire. when police got here, they found three adults who had been shot. a 28-year-old man was taken to the hospital. he has life-threatening injuries. a 21-year-old woman in the 35-year-old woman were also shot. they have what is described as non-life-threatening injuries. we are told that this happened in a room at the extended stay hotel. it's unclear at this point whether all three of those victims or any of the victims

police have not issued any information regarding a lookout or any suspect information. we have seen them with a canine sweeping the grounds here in their search for evidence. the hotel is indeed open for business, but part of the parking lot, of course, is blocked off because of this incident. so three people shot here in alexandria. one man, a 28-year-old man, with life-threatening injuries. two women, a 21-year-old and a 35-year-old, with non-life-threatening injuries. live in alexandria, derrick ward, news4. interviews are underway to fill the most controversial job vacancy right now. we are talking about james comey's seat in the fbi. four candidates will be interviewed today, they include the acting director of the fbi, andrew mccabe, republican senator john cornyn of texas, attorney alice fisher, who formally served as assistant attorney general for the justice department's criminal dion

new york court of appeals. meanwhile, senate democrats want deputy attorney general rosenstein to resign if he doesn't appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the possible trump ties to russia. rosenstein agreed to brief the full senate next week. meantime, james comey has declined an invitation to publicly testify before the senate intelligence committee next week. but the committee chair says he does expect comey to brief the committee in private. president donald trump is delivering the first commencement speech at liberty university today. the president is scheduled to arrive in lynchburg around now because the ceremony begins at 10:00. graduates and families have been pouring into the stadium as we take a look here. the christian school's president was among trump's earliest and strongest supporters. next week the president will speak at the united states coast guard academy in connecticut. and tomorrow morning on

yesterday he didn't show up to his sentencing for a dui crash that killed five people in oxen hill. there's now a warrant out for kelly's arrest. and we have learned his gps monitor was removed sometime last week, but it's still not clear why this happened. kelly was behind the wheel of a mercedes that slammed into another car back in 2014. four people in that car died including two children. and a passenger in kelly's car also died. the victim's family is now furious. >> he took away five lives, five, i'm not sure why the judge released him in the first place. you shouldn't have been out on the street. >> well, a judge initially released kelly on a $100,000 bond after his guilty plea. the state's attorney office did argue to keep him in jail. we also have an update to that story that caused anger and hurt in anne arundel county. police now say they have caught the two 19-year-olds suspected of placing a noose at a middle school. this is john havr

prout who face charges for dress praszing on school property. the pair was caught after they looked at still shots taken across the middle school. on thursday a teacher spots the noose hanging from the light fixture and the police chief condemned the incident but no hate crime charges have been filed. here in the district tonight, you may want to look up. expect to see thousands of candles illuminating the national mall all to honor fallen law enforcement officers. right now you're looking at last year's ceremony at the national law enforcement officers memorial. the names of 394 officers will be read aloud. 143 gave the ultimate sacrifice last year. while the other officers died previously but were never honored. this also includes those who died as a result of rescue and recovery work on

courthouse areas. watch the man enter the building after a woman unlocks the door. but notice he talks to somebody, that's the concierge. the guy won't be allowed upstairs, at least in this building. this was about 20 minutes before police say he attacked a woman inside the atrium building on key boulevard last sunday. that's what you're looking at. here's there noticing the police, putting his hands over his face, but the police cannot find him. if you spot him, give him a call. the unthinkable happened inside a nursing home in ohio when a shooter came in and opened fire. this happened in kirkersville, ohio. the gunman, a 23-year-old, was found dead inside the building. authorities don't know what led up to the shooting. and if you're heading out for a drive this morning, you may need the wipers. while the rain has stopped the water on the ad

i'm melissa mollet with a look at the first4 traffic. downtown this weekend, first of all, some graduations are happening, so going to have some extra traffic and maybe parking might be a bit tighter than normal. american university, howell university and catholic graduating this weekend. a little warning for you there. on sunday, the d.c. police bike ride, a huge event there with the streets shut down from 6:30 to 12:15 there in the ohio drive area. that's where it starts there in southwest washington. now, to the finish line, as for the road closures, they start midnight on sunday to 7:00 p.m. constitution avenue to third to 77th street, pennsylvania avenue to third street to seventh street, and fourth street to independence to constitution.

final salute discovered unexpected problems while renovating their home in the alexandria area. the project was a lot bigger than thank their plans and budget called for. and the home was sup suddenly uninhatable. and they have to raise more money to finish the job. >> the founder said it was difficult to find housing for veterans, particularly if they had children. >> we are growing to be the biggest population in america. over 70% of the population has children. so we are accommodating furthei woman and her child. and until we are back up and running, we can't help them when they can't get help anywhere else. this house can accommodate ten veterans and their children for ten

britain's national health service paralyzed. >> this was not targeted at the nhs. it was an international attack and a number of organizations and communities have been affected. >> reporter: ambulances rerouted, at least 16 hospitals forced to turn away patients. >> we turned up for our appointment to have his foot checked and they said, i'm really sorry, but their computer system is down. >> reporter: the computers with a ransom message on screen demanding $300 in bitcoin to unlock. at least 70 countries attacked, russia hit the hardest. major companies including fedex and spain's largest telecom also targeted. this is a flaw in microsoft's windows operating system. it is called wannacry or wannadecryptor.

your information, they just want your money. >> you can recover from this instance if you have a backup. the problem is many organizations don't defend themselves in advance. >> reporter: britain's hospitals are being ordered to pay up by may 19 or the data disappears. the american companies are now on alert. >> and that was nbc's staff fan ho stefan holt. and the companies include telephonica and u.s.-based company fedex. the spokesperson for the russian interior says 1,000 computers were hit by the servers were blocked. and nasa's orion spacecraft is meant to take humans farther into space than ever before. but for the first launch of the new big rocket, no humans will be on board. this is a deep space mission. nasa posted a statement declining a trump administration's request to send a flight crew on that first

nasa says it would add hundreds of millions to the cost and could delay the launch until the first half of 2020. the time right now is 9:33. there is new federal sentencing guidelines for drug cases from the justice department. attorney general jeff sessions is telling federal prosecutors to charge suspects with the most serious offense if they can prove. eric holder said prosecutors were looking into less serious charges if a defendant was not involve in a large drug cartel or gang. sessions is also directing prosecutors to disclose all facts that can impact a defendant's sentence. and the next story is something you will only see here on 4, this morning we are getting new insight into how ms-13 gang members operate in our suburbs, including how they lured and ikilled a teen last year. this comes out of the federal indictment that charges nine people. you may remember this scenero

local and federal law enforcement moving in on this leesburg home. in the middle of the night, neighbors recording several people, hands on their heads, walking out at the time where we saw gang unit investigators on scene, yet so many questions remain unanswered until now. >> people told us it was pretty safe around here, it's a nice area, but you just never know. >> reporter: two-and-a-half weeks before the house raid, the family reported carlos artero n rodriguez missing. the click leaders found carlos and pictures of him showing rival gang signs on facebook. last year a few lured him into a car and said they were going to a party. from there the gang members attacked and killed carlos. according to the indictment, after those involved in carlos'
