on i-95. it happened early sunday morning near richmond. one of the victims was holland of mona sass. she ask another young woman were in a car with five others and someone pulled up next to them at exit 75 and opened fire. troopers believe someone targeted the women. they are asking for the k's help with the investigation. they described the suspect's vehicle as a newer model white fo four-door sedan. >> let's take a live look at the national peace officers memorial service. these are live pictures coming to you from the u.s. capital. president trump will take the stage in about 30 minutes. brothers and sisters in blue are remembering 234 officers who gave their lives to make their communities safer. ahead of the ceremony, the president vowed to cut down on violence against police officers. >> melissa mollet joins us live from the memorial. with more on the six officers from our area being

an e-mail and quickly spreads through an organization's network locking computers, encrypting files and demanding $300 in bitcoin. the cyber thieves used a hole in microsoft security made public by hackers who stole it from the national security agency last summer. over the weekend, this 22-year-old british cyber researcher known as malware tech says he found a kill switch for the virus. he along with americans slowed the attack but didn't stop it. the only way to guard against it would be to update your computer software ask avoid strange links. chinese officials have detected a a version 2.0 of this virus. they say it spreads faster is and isn't affected by that kill switch. now some industry experts suggested this may be the work of russian-speaking cyber criminals, intelligence agencies around the world are investigating. they

we have some breaking news at 11:30. we just found out 25 people were hurt in wh this commuter bus overturned in if maryland. this is on i-95 in northbound traffic is getting by. but police completely shut down the southbound lanes of the highway. two people were critically injured. a chopper flew them to the hospital. it's not clear why the bus crashed. right now, vice president mike pence is about to take the stage at the national peace officers memorial service that is happening at the capital as part of police week. president trump will speak right after the vice president.

>> reporter: if you look behind me here, you can see a waterman's work boat out there. they are pulling up their crab pots out here on the chesapeake bay. because of the warm winter and the warm spring, we are actually seeing crabs in this area in the churcheston area coming out earlier. they are actually out there working the crab pot, working the lines earlier than usual. weeks earlier than they have in previous years because they are actually catching crabs. so good news for the waterman in this particular area. we went out with one on his boat early in the morning, and he says he's optimistic about what he's seeing so far. things slowed down because of the cold weather we have seen as of late, but he's sigh sooeing plenty of crabs and they are decent sized. very optimistic about the season. now one thing to keep in mind is that. ap

americans die each year because of a heart disease. so hopefully learning hands on cpr is simple will help save a life. >> why is is it hands only now? traditional cpr is what we'll do as first responders. but hands-only cpr is something that will help circulate the blood and oxygen left in the. first few minutes of a heart attack. so basically it is recognizing that there's an emergency, calling 911, starting hands-only cpr, push hard and fast and get the leftover oxygen circulating to the brain. >> let's show kwhaus us what to do here. you're doing it to the beat of "staying alive." >> that will be playing as the folks are going through their training and basically you want

overdosing a day, we. wanted to put faces on the struggle beyond just the headlines. >> so you spent a whole year studying this. have you learned some things that surprised you that you didn't know when you started the project? >> i think a big part of what we learned is how pervasive the problem is. it's not something that's just affecting smaller parts of the county and across the country actually. it's a a huge problem that everyone has someone who is struggling with it or knows somebody who is struggling with it. we wanted to give those people a platform and ruse reduce the stigma around talking about the issues. that was a big thing we learned. people are willing to talk about it, which is really important. >> so you produced a series of videos. tell us about what went into the series. the same topic with several videos. >> the thing about this epidemic is that it touches everyone. we have storiesro

as well as the officials, the police chief, emt, on scenes and at overdoses showing people what it's like to be there. one of the most surprising parts for me was to be at the scene of an overdose and see just how powerful seeing someone overdose and being brought back by narcan is just widespread. >> there's so many powerful moments in the videos that you have shot and produced. one, for example, features a mother who is talking about using the drugs during pr pregnancy. >> you watch her cry and scream and feel the pain that she feels as she had to give away her baby to a stranger. and the more powerful the effort she is to regaining control of her life after this drug took control of it. >> she was actually pregnant and holding a baby. >> no, she
