it comes hours after president trump met with turkish president erdogan at the white house today. and the rush hour right now is a mess, folks. news4's shomari stone has more on the fight and the impact it's having on the traffic now. shomari? >> reporter: good evening. i'm here at the sheridan circle, at northwest 23rd street. over there are pro-turkish protesters outside the ambassador's residence. inside the president is there and they tell me he's supposed to come out moments from now. d.c. police have blocked off the street here and they're protesting in solidarity with turkey's president at the residence. however, earlier some protesters had a scuffle with police at the turkish embassy. nine people were transported for minor injuries, and many of them are upset that the turkish presiden

chilling phone call to come right away. >> when we got there, it was any typical scene, cop cars, ambulances, everyone's out front. so we knew something bad had happened. >> reporter: the couple soon learned cole had gotten hold of a loaded gun at the babysitter's house and fatally shot himself. the babysitter's fiance is a stafford county sheriff's deputy still in training. the orange county sheriff's office is investigating, reporting the gun that killed cole was not a service revolver, but the deputy wasn't at home at the time of the tragic incident. as the investigation continues, cole's parents have a warning for anyone who drops their child off at a home daycare. >> basically tell them, look, make sure your weapons are nowhere that any of the kids can reach. >> if you have a weapon, gun safety. it's something that they teach for any person that gets a weapon. you keep it secure. there's no reason a child should be in reach of any

in time. >> reporter: this gofundme page has been set up to help the family with funeral expenses. >> we're doing the best we can to freud for him as his parents still. new questions tonight in a high profile murder in the district. the family of seth rich is blasting claims that the young man sent e-mails to wikileaks before he was killed last summer. rich was working for the democratic national committee at the time, and his unsolved murder has drawn a lot of news coverage. police call it a robbery gone wrong, but there are a lot of conspiracy theories in this still unsolved case. pat collins has been trying to separate fact from fiction on this. he is downtown with more on the latest developments on this. pat? >> reporter: it's not easy, doreen. a high profile murder, conspiracy theories here, there, all around.

seth rich was 27 years old. he worked for the democratic national committee. in the dark hours of the morning last july 10th, he was shot and killed as he was walking to his home in the blooming dale section of washington. police believe it was a robbery gone bad. now private detective rod wheeler has told fox news there's evidence on rich's computer that indicates some degree of an e-mail exchange between rich and wikileaks. it was wikileaks that exposed embarrassing dnc e-mails during the presidential campaign. fox news is reporting that within 96 hours of rich's murder, the fbi was aware of thousands of e-mails between seth rich and wikileaks. but an fbi spokesperson told me today, the bureau did not examine rich's computer. he said the fbi didn't have

case. tracee? well, it looks like we're having a problem -- >> kenneth kelley is back behind bars after a weekend on the run. >> this is good community policing. you know, not in the conventional sort of way, but they were out there, trying to stir up information. >> reporter: the prince george's county sheriff's office said it was a tip that led to kelley's arrest. he was found at a hotel in suitland. >> the deputies were able to come up with a series of tips that led to good investigation and ultimately the arrest. >> reporter: kelley had been out on $100,000 bond after pleading guilty to five counts of negligent manslaughter. he admitted he was drunk behind the wheel when he crashed into another vehicle in oxon hill in 2014, killing one of his passengers and four people in the other vehicle, including two children. but on friday, he did not show up for sentencing. the prince george's county state's attorney's office is trying to figure out why

suddenly monday morning, she was one of three people killed in an awful crash along the suitland parkway in prince george's county. chopper4 flew over the crash on monday morning when a jeep and a sedan collided on the suitland parkway. the sedan caught fire. three people inside died at the scene. london dior was a passenger in the sedan. tonight her fans are sharing their grief on social media. her family members are talking to news4 about how they would like for her to be remembered. chris gordon joins us live from the crash site with more. chris? >> reporter: well, doreen, i spoke with some of her family members today. they would like her to be remembered as a shining star whose life will continue through her music. ♪ ♪ >> reporter: that's london dior. she was also known as lundy. she was a local rapper who had already gained national attention. her fans loved

if you've ever been to ocean city, chances are you've seen or sat on one of the hundreds of benches that line the boardwalk there. a lot of families bought these benches and dedicated them to lost loved ones. but now some families are being told to pay more than a thousand dollars or lose their memorial bench. news4's darcy spencer spoke to one prince george's county couple trying to figure out what to do. >> this is where we got stacy's bench. >> reporter: gayle took this video of the bench she bought and dedicated to her 17-year-old daughter stacy, who was murdered back in 2005. the memorial bench is on the

stacy actually told her family she wanted one of these benches before she died. >> i said, these are memorial benches for when people die. she goes, i want you to buy me one of these. i said 80 years down the road, when you die, four family will buy you one. five days later, she was murdered. >> reporter: her family looked into it, and it wasn't cheap. >> $1,370. i thought that might be a little steep, but then i thought, this is forever. >> reporter: stacy's parents and friends visit that bench every year and it gives them a sense of peace. because she didn't want to be buried, this bench takes on special meaning. >> we don't have a grave site for her, so we talk to stacy there. >> reporter: they and other families were surprised when they received a letter from the town of ocean city, asking for more money. the letter explains a new policy, assigning benches a ten-year life span and

$1161 restoration fee. some of the benches are cracked and damaged and need to be repaired or replaced. >> i just think that's the wrong way to do business. because you're retro actively going back in time and saying, we made this policy and, okay, this is ten years old, that bench is ten years old, send them a bill. >> the letter spells out three options, pay the fee, donate the bench to the town, or come and take your bench. in a letter to the seatons from 2005, there's no mention of maintenance or future payments. in a phone interview with news4, town spokesperson said the benches didn't hold up as long as they'd hoped in the ocean air. the money is needed for maintenance, repair, and in some cases, replacement. quote, this is a tough decision, we understand people are upset. >> i know they're looking at it strictly from a business point of view of running a city. but there's
