take a look agency s we go throe day. by 7:00 a.m., 64 degrees. and look at the afternoon, mid to low 90s. by 7:00 p.m., still near 90 degrees. 63 in the gaithersburg. and the heat continues for the next couple days. we're coming back with a look at that forecast. >> sheena, thank you. it's 5:02. another bombshell development rocking the white house this morning. nbc news has confirmed that former fbi director james comey wrote a memo claiming president trump urged him to shut down the investigation on michael flynn and his ties to russia. the story was first reported by "the new york times." >> according to a course close to comey, the memo was part of a paper trail, documenting what he believes was the president's attempt to

investigation to the campaign. comey wrote it on february 14th, the day after flynn resigned. it was also after comey attended a meeting with the president at the white house. comey quoted the president saying, quote, i hope you can see your way clear to letting this go to letting flynn go. the white house denies asking comey or anyone else to end the investigation. >> now, this latest development has led to a flood of reaction from capitol hill. some lawmakers saying president trump's attempts to shut down the administration raised questions about obstruction of justice. republican congressman jason chaffetz, the head of the oversight committee sent a letter to the fbi asking for all communications between comey and the president. he said they have until next week to turn it over. then, quote, if we need a subpoena, we'll do it. coming up, we'll go to capitol hill where news4's tracie potts is telling us why john mccain is comparing the late of the to

>> to angie goff. >> eun, the damage is deadly, this morning, very widespread after tornadoes were reported across five states. the midwest taking it hard. look at those homes ripped apart by strong winds and thunderstorms in oklahoma. we know entire trees were uprooted. some of them, in fact, cut in half. you can see right there. two people killed and dozens were hurt. storm chasersch kaing some of the twisters on camera here. and many schooled closed as the clean up continues. eun. we're following a developing story, three men are on the run after murdering a man at an apartment in waldorf. right now, detectives believe the victim may have known his killers. chopper 4 was over the scene last night as police collected evidence. here's what clis say happened three suspects entered an apartment

shot a man. we're also working to find out the name of a woman shot and killed by d.c. police. this happened around 7:00 last night near a popular rec center where children were plays. police chief newsham said police were called to juliet street. when officers arrived they saw a woman with a gun, told her to drop it. when she didn't, two d.c. officers fired. >> the police told her to put it down. when she didn't, we heard four or five shots. >> we'll, of course, take a look to see if the body cameras were activated. there are multiple cameras in the area. >> police are also looking at a camera on a metro bus driving by. the woman died at the hospital. there is a search for a man accused of grabbing a woman on a bike path. the woman was walking near tall cedars parkway and edgewater

around noon when the man grabbed. this is a composite sketch. police think he was driving a silver honda civic. now, take a good look at these pictures. the st. mary's sheriff's office said these men were behind two armed robberies. a m an hour and a half later, the deputies received a call that the same men robbed a cab driver at gun point. if you recognize the men in the surveillance pictures call the sheriff's office. chelsea manning will be released from a military prison 28 years early. the army saints once manning is freed, she'll be un-r on unpaid active duty. former president barack obama granted her

last year, manning tweeted that she planned to return to maryland after her release. but it's still not clear if that is still the plan. now, despite new security measures at the white house, the secret service had to deal with another would-be fence jumper yesterday. the secret service said the person who jumped over a bike rack on pennsylvania avenue was arrested before getting on to white house grounds. according to the news4 i-team, two other people were recently charged with jumping the fents or security scares at the white house are scheduled to appear in federal court yesterday. what you see happening here is the transformation of an old metro railcar. the retired 4,000 series car is now being turned into a retail kiosk outside of the grosvenor-strathmore metro station. nine pop-up vendors are open for

in some field somewhere. >> detectives told the family, they interviewed the woman from the dating app. he last called. the woman told police she never spoke to or met him. and that someone else must have used her phone. ♪ ♪ bring him home >> emotions raw at a candlelight vigil last night in franklin, massachusetts. hundreds of people gathered to show their support for the family of a missing college student. police have been looking for 20-year-old michael dougherty since sunday. he was last seen leaving a party early that morning and then returned home. a diver is recovering after being bitten by a shark. this happened monday at the zoo in washington. the aquarium said the diver was doing maintenance work in the shark tank when the shark bit the diver's finger.
