is now a "times" columnist. and we have a security nbc analyst here with us as well. matt, let's start with your "washington post" story. a senior member of the trump white house team is under investigation, criminal investigation. did they find evidence of wrongdoing? >> it means they have evidence that makes them suspicious of the wrongdoing by the senior adviser. what we can read from this is the underlying investigation into whether there were links between trump campaign associates, people close to the president and the russian government. and there with those winks there was something going on close in the white house. what that means is people in the white house have to testify before a grand jury, they are asked to turn over

documents and it will be disruptive to the functioning of the white house and the senior staff. >> elise, i want to talk about "the new york times" bombshell. as president trump was firing on air force one, that to the russians in the oval office, the president referred to james comey as a nut job, telling the russians, apparently, it relieves pressure on him with the russia investigation. just poor judgment or more significant? >> it is absolutely staggering that you hahave the president o united states assaulting his russian counterpart envoy. but it's amazing the number of leaks coming from the white house. it is unprecedented and shows discontent within the entire administration, within his own staff and career officials. >> we should mention the white house is not denying the overall theme of the meeting. this later circulated around the west coast. >> their defense is that they are building a fence that president trum n

graphic. several security cameras capturing driver richard rojas barreling through crowds in the packed tourist area. this is hard to watch. according to prosecutors, rojas said he smoked marijuana with pcp and wanted to kill the crowds on his way and hope to be shot to death by police. rojas made his first court appearance on friday charged with murder and held without bail. a shocking close call caught on camera in pasco. look at this collision, one of the vehicles soars into the area crashing into the very spot where the officer stood seconds ago. no word yet on any injuries. and it is a big day across the pond, as they say. duchess kate's little sister pippa middleton is getting married this

we'll start with new port, rhode island. >> a long coastal retreat for america's wealthy. still a beautiful destination with a great marine center for kids. there is fort adam state park, which is one of the best american state parks according to guide users. there's a new hotel there called the guilded all about the history bringing in the colorful, ornate touches, beautiful more report and everything. $179 a night. but you're right in the heart of n newport, rhode island. there's a beautiful flower show this summer. there's also a jazz festival in august. so wherever you are looking to go, this is a great choice. >> we are not that far, we could do a road trip. how about silver springs, new york, a big horse racing town. >> also close by, about 190 miles north of new york city. this is a destination that starts off horse racing in july, but what a lot of people don't know is before that race, rates are really affordable.
