most of the votes were cast via mail-in ballot and that was before he was charged. on election day he stayed out of sight mostly about body slamming the reporter. he has a court date in june on the misdemeanor charge. 5:03. president trump is on the final leg of his first over seas trip. he is at the g-7 summit in italy where he meets with heads of other major economic powers. this morning everyone is talking about this video. take a look. here's president trump pushing aside the prime minister of montenegro so he could move to the front of the group. this happened as the leaders were ready to take a group picture yesterday. the white house official said the president was just moving into his assigned place. the prime minister markevich shrugged off the sleight and said it was harmless. the fbi investigation into the trump campaign and russia has hit the

nbc news has learned that his son-in-law and senior adviser jared kushner is under the bureau's scrutiny. they believe he has significant information related to the russia investigation. coming up news 4's tracie potts will explain why the fbi is looking at kushner and the possibility that he could face criminal charges. four minutes after the hour. this morning secretary of state rex tillerson travels to london to pay tribute to the 22 people killed in monday's bombing in manchester, england. while he's there he will work to smooth out the relationship between british and american law enforcement. this morning the two countries are once again sharing their intelligence about the attack. you're looking at live pictures from london where tributes have been put in place. balloons, flowers left to honor those who died in the attack on monday. leaders angrily stopped exchanging information about details that appeared in american media. here's what we know about the investigation this morning. for the first time we're seeing the suspect, salam

the bomber's sister told t"the wall street journal" that he wanted revenge for the bombing in syria. ten people have been arrested, including two of the suspect's brothers and their father. 5:05 now. family and friends will gather today to say their final good-bye to army lieutenant richard collins iii. he is remembered as an exceptional man and friend. flowers were placed at the place police say the 23-year-old was killed in an unprovoked attack last saturday. he was at the universe 12i ity maryland when he was attacked. his gown was draped over his chair at tuesday's ceremony. the killer is maryland student shawn urbansky. he's charged with murder and assault. the fbi is helping to determine whether the collins killing was a hate crime and the university of maryland has launched an action plan to deal with hate

dior will be laid to rest today. she was killed last week in a crash along suitland parkway. her fwrand mother told news 4 she was on her way home after a recording session. her funeral starts at 10:00 this morning at the way of the cross church in capital heights. her birth name is dasha red. she was one of three people killed in that crash. no license, no problem. that was the thought of dozens, possibly hundreds of people who lined up to sell their blood to a man in southwest d.c. but police say he didn't have a license to operate his make shift blood bank. our cameras will rolling when ko nguyen left his court hearing. he set up shop in an abandoned apartment building and paid people $30 for each sample. >> to me, it was illegal, unsanitary, unsafe. >> offer you $30, you know, people, $30,

>> now nguyen said he worked for boston biosource. the company said he provides a valuable service collecting blood for research for diseases like cancer and alzheimer's. it's unclear if that company is tied to this collection of blood. more details in the massive construction project happening on beach drive. you can see some relief as we enter the next stage of the project. the good news is there will no longer be a 24/7 closure. segment 2 and 3 of the project are going to be combined. detour routes have been updated to improve neighborhood safety and be more a come 340e dating to traffic pattern and feedback from area residents. >> you will hear this sound all memorial day weekend. thousands of motorcycles are in town to take part

last saturday. he was at the university of maryland visiting friends when he was stand. the -- stabbed. the fbi is helping people determine whether the killing was a hate crime. also in prince george's county, police tell us a man killed in fort washington on wednesday likely knew the man who pulled the trigger. 19-year-old xavier johnson is accused of killing timothy harris on asbury drive. they argued before the shooting. county police are also questioning a relative about a murder of an elderly man. officers said they went to the victim's house on mill street in fort washington to do a welfare check. that's when they found him slumped over with signs of trauma to his body. no names have been released in the investigation. a sad day for working families and children of maryland. that's what prince george's county executive said about the governor's veto of the earned sick leave legislation. that bill would have required employers with more than 15 workers toow

paid sick leave. maryland's governor larry hogan called it a job killing bill. hogan supported a different bill that relied on tax incentives to coax employers into offering sick leave benefits. the governor did sign some bills yesterday. one of them was amber's law. that bill was named for a.m. be chenault who was killed by her boyfriend despite having an order against him. it's 5:33. you might be awake right now because you're getting ready for the memorial day weekend. >> what's the best time to get going? molette green is in the newsroom to tell you how long you have until the traffic gets out there? >> reporter: as of this moment you have 4:24 to leave the house. 10:00 is the last chance you have to have if you don't want to be out there with everybody else. if you miss the

>> reporter: this memorial day weekend a lot of people will be heading to the beach but you don't have to cross the bay brink bridge to find a beautiful stretch sand. i'm live in north beach. well, if you visit arlington national cemetery this weekend, you will see flags beside many of the graves. that is because of a special effort just before memorial day. more than 1,000 old guard soldiers placed american flags at each of the head stones. they do this every year going all the way back to 1948. this morning there are flags beside 280,000 head stones. the old guard is the oldest active duty infantry unit in the army. if you can't go in person you can see more of the photos online in the gallery in the nbc washington app. a student at a montgomery county high school brought his classmates to tears with the way he honored a fallen soldier. >> still blown away by the story when we learned about

it aired last night. wantf oe video here from this it a junior at mcgruder high school, a member of the jr. rotc program there. he's in el salvador laying a breathe at a grave of a student who was killed in afghanistan. this year's class, they weren't sure whether he had been given sort of the normal military honor when he died because he was buried in another country. he bothered to do this when he was home in el salvador on spring break. >> i represented a program at the school and i feel proud for what i did. >> three our mcgruder students have died in service to this country. specialist burkhart killed in iraq, young man private justin davis class of '05. 19 years old when he died. dennis burrow, the class of '04. they both died

past 4's tracie potts is live with more on why the nfbi s interested in kushner. >> reporter: eun and aaron, we don't know specifically. what we do know is that being under scrutiny is not the same as being a subject or target of the investigation. it's not like paul manafort and michael flynn where they're looking into his actions. according to the fbi, according to our sources, multiple sources, they're thinking there's something that he knows that might lend to this investigation. we know that kushner has had two meetings with russian officials, russian banker and the russian ambassador. he has already told congress that he's willing to talk about those meetings. his attorney says he's willing to share that information with any investigating authority, which of course would include the fbi. tracie, let's turn to the investigation. where does the fight go from here? ep

action. speaking of metro, get ready to pay a lot more for your metro fare and perhaps adjust your schedule. starting june 25th riders will have to deal with fare hikes and service cuts. the changes will have the biggest impact on riders that use the system late at night and on weekends. take a look. here are some of the major changes on the rales. week night service will end at 11:30 p.m. friday and saturday service will go until 1:00 a.m. and on sunday the system opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 11:00 p.m. metro says the changes to hours should not have a big impact. >> still going to have trains in the downtown area coming every three or four minutes so really it's a matter of one or two minutes when it comes to customers. >> when it comes to fares you'll be paying 10 to 25 cents more to ride the train or bus depending on when you take your trip. if you need a reminder on the time changes and fare changes head to the nbc washington app and

good news if you've had to deal with the massive construction projects happening on beach drive, you'll see some relief as we enter the next phases of the project. reconstruction between porter street and tiny branch parkway will begin in june. the good news is that it will no longer require a 24/7 closure during construction. segments two and three of the project are being combined. detour routes are to be more accommodating to traffic patterns. it looks like lyft is trying to give uber a run for its money. the ride sharing service is adding some black car service options. now we don't know when exactly they will be available in d.c., but you'll be eventually able to choose from lyft lux or lyf lyft lux suv. it is back. the popular spanish ship "e "el
