we have severe thunderstorm watches. we have severe storms moving through kansas right now and we'll see more storms later to develop this afternoon. it is getting uncomfortable down south. with the cold front combined with the heat and humidity, we'll see very large storms begin to develop later this afternoon. this area in red, that's where we have the moderate risk. we could see golf ball to softball-sized hail. very large with the system. and a few wind gusts and tornadoes are likely. some of them could be strong tornadoes. tomorrow the threat moves to the east from indianapolis stretching down to dell rio, texas. we could see golf ball-sized hail. but if you're imagining softball sized hail, that could cause some serious damage. >> we'll come back to you for

>> reporter: hey, guys, good morning. we have been waiting all year for this, the pools are opening up and kids can't wait to get into the water. but now the cdc is out with a new warning about growing outbreaks at swimming pools and water parks. yes, it's true. thousands of pools close every year because of this dangerous bacteria. this morning we're breaking out our germ kit yet again. and before you jump in this holiday weekend, you have to see what we found. it's pool time. families across the country diving in and hitting water parks. today, so am i. but ever wonder what germs are lurking in the water? a new alert from the cdc says par sitsz aasites are oe ri outbreaks doubling since 2013, and the germs are not easily killed by chlorine. so what will we find? i'm going undercover taking samples.

tracking when rain might make its way on in here. we welcome you in on this saturday morning, may 27th. good morning to you, i'm david culver. and i'm angie goff. we are talking about the rain showers, some we could see this morning. >> we are tracking it all. meteorologist tom kierein is joining us now. what about the timing of all of this? >> those storms are likely late this afternoon and maybe a few passing light to moderate showers here over the next couple of hours. right now, the clouds are closing in over washington. live view from the storm team 4 tower camera. they are moving in from the north and west. and the clouds are producing some showers and a little bit of thunder and lightning way out here in west virginia. and just to the north up into howard county and north frederick getting a few sprinkles. but just as the area of some showers coming into the northern shenandoah valley over the next half hour or so. they may make their way into the metro area around 11:00 or so this morning. temperatures will be climbing to near 70 by then.
