throughout the district. we are seeing lighter showers coming out towards spring george county heading towards clinton seeing more moderate showers. take a look at the bigger picture. real action to the south. areas in a severe thunderstorm watch until 10:00 p.m. i think the atmosphere is prime the further south you move out here in the district. we aren't going to be seeing any severe weather. not going to close the window for a thunderstorm entirely, but as far as it being severe, not worried about that. so in summary, if you're going out tonight, have the umbrella on deck. temperatures in the 70s around 7:00 p.m. showers lingering. midnight we should all be dry with temperatures dropping into the 60s overnight. now, if you are planning on heading to any of the memorial services that we will see throughout the weekend, we will see the rain return. yes. the plot thickens. more details on your full forecast. back to you

we have this just into the newsroom. we sent you out an alert about this. smithsonian police officer found a noose hanging from a tree while during security checks at the museum last night. incident around 6:00 p.m. u.s. parks just told us about this minutes ago. the noose was inside the canopy of a tree on the west side of the plaza. police are now investigating. bring you more investigation as it comes in. a shooting that hurt seven people and killed a person. we're told neighbors called police multiple times before the gunfire started. today officers back out. >> all goes back to who did the shooting and to wound that many people is just heartless, callous, i'm a little dumbfounded for more words to say about it. >> police tell us they're looking for two men who left the scene this morning in a dark colored sedan. at this point, they're not talking about a motive. news 4 tells us more about the man

of the evidence police are looking at tonight. >> the aftermath. so many shots fired that the search for evidence was going on eight hours after the incident. the gunfire that awakened the residents in this northwest neighborhood claimed the life of 32-year-old man. hit several times. seven others, six males and a female were wounded. >> it was bound to happen sooner or later. >> a large gathering at the scene. >> it's constantly 40 deep any given day, any given hour. >> police responded to complaints about it late friday night, early saturday morning. >> the last car left about 11:40 last night. unfortunately this happened. >> several cars were towed from the scene. some with bullets still embedded. evidence. police removed a bullet from this hallway. came through a window. few inches tth
