now this happens after sunday when some 300-plus volunteers placed 160,000 roses on head stones over at arlington, an effort put on by memorial day flowers fund. working to place tens of thousands of roses at 17 cemeteries today nationwide. looking out, a powerful image for these three service members now surrounded by flowers and flags and messages from people across the country. this morning there will of course be tributes large and small here in this area and across the nation honoring those who have made tremendous sacrifice for us. folks gears up for the national memorial day parade in d.c. everything in red is what you need to avoid if you're in your car. road closures begin at 9:00 this morning. to start assembling the parade.

parking lot of the days inn in silver springs. she later died at the hospital. police don't know why he was attacked but are treating his death as a homicide. in the district police are looking for more than one person involved in a shooting that left one man dead and severals injured. police are describing the understand accident as heartless and callous. it happened just south of the blooming dale neighborhood early on saturday. a 22-year-old was killed. police are looking for two men who ran into a black car with tinted windows and fled the scene. if you know anything, call the police. a planned u.s. navy parachute jump at citi field won't happen today. this comes after a jump went terribly wrong, killing one parachutist. >> diver down in the water. >> that was the at

when the member of a navy s.e.a.l. leapfrog team went down in the water. officials say his chute ma' malfunctioned. developing this morning, police in manchester are raiding apartments in another attempt to find people connected to last week's attack. they searched three places just this morning and arrested a man. this is video from a different raid this weekend. investigators say a terror network set up the bombings at an ariana grande concert last week. police have 14 people in custody so far. 22 people were killed in the bombing, dozens hurt. president trump is back at home and he is railing against leaks and the media. he tweeted several times on the issue yesterday, the latest coming overnight where he wrote, quote, the fake news media works hard at disparg

it was a dark day for metro when a train filled with smoke at if metro station. hurt dozens of people, killed one woman more than 2000 years ago. many who have sued the district over that incident appears to have received a settlement. one attorney representing several of the plaintiffs will not say why. the lawsuit is filed by the family of the woman who died was not dismissed. today six stations remain closed as part of track work including the five stations on the orange line as well as the rhode island station on the red line. those orange line stations will stay closed through june 15th because of safe track and all trains are running on a weekend schedule. today passengers are still stranded because of the british airways
