this morning, you'll likely be slowed down quite a bit. >> right now no train service between noma-gallaudet and fort totten. news 4's justin finch is live with what you need to do to get around. justin, good morning. >> reporter: hey there, eun. so far i can tell you frustration on this misty morning at that bus stop right there. several passengers waiting for one of those shuttle buses to emerge. so far they have seen nothing, gotten no answers at the train station itself. they are waiting to get to work and school. they're telling us that close to 5:15 this morning they got word that there was this service, unscheduled track repair going on on the red line here at fort totten and to go outside and wait for service. so far several buses are packed. we have also seen so far many buses go by and neither has been a

school unclear how they will get there. so far we are hearing from metro no trains between noma-gallaudet and fort totten. riders being advised to take the green line between fort totten akd so far many people are waiting close to an hour to get the shuttle bus to get them to work and school. again, unscheduled track repair doing this. justin finch, taking action after two violent shootings. 20 shots were fired off north capital street. our cameras captured the arrest of two people afterwards. this all happened in the same area where eight people were shot early saturday morning. algernon jones was killed m that shooting. last night his friends and family remembered his lifeit

we're learning more about a pepper spray incident. montgomery county fire says one person was taken to the hospital because of the pep jerp spray explosion. we now know how a father, husband, veteran police officer will be remembered. michael walter, a virginia state police special agent was working a traffic stop in richmond on friday night when he was shot by a passenger in the car. police tracked down the suspect, travis ball, and charged him with murder. walter will be remembered this saturday at a public funeral. he was an 18-year veteran of the police force. he leaves behind a wife, two sons, and a daughter. selfless and humble, those are two of the ways the family of a navy s.e.a.l. described the man after a parachute jump gone wrong. 27-year-old remington peters of colorado was a

and had made more than 900 jumps. peters died after falling into the hudson river not far from the statue of liberty on sunday after his parachute did not open during a sky diving demonstration. that demonstration was part of fleet week that has been underway in new york. authorities are now investigating what went wrong. the dictator the u.s. kicked out of panama has died. angie goff with the breaking news. angie? >> reporter: that's correct, manuel noriega died at the age of 83. noriega was once considered an ally, as you mentioned, by the u.s. but was ousted after an american invasion. he served time in prison. i'm angie goff at the live desk. back to you.

right now congress is on a week-long memorial day recess, but senate staffers are working. they're putting together the senate's bill to repeal and replace the affordable care act. according to "politico" they're hoping to have a bill after recess but not putting a deadline on the legislation. the washington post reports that naacp president benjamin gellus will enter the rae's tomorrow. he worked for senator bernie sanders during his run for president last year. so far one other person has entered the race. in virginia we are two weeks away from the state's hotly contested primary for governor. voters will be choosing candidates for other offices as well. candidates took advantage of yesterday's memorial holiday to campaign for

now. the other sniper, john alan muhammad was executed in virginia in 2009 for his crimes. eun? >> angie goff. thank you. a big announcement could come from the supreme court today regarding president trump's travel ban. the court may decide whether they plan to hear arguments over the controversial ban on visitors from six majority muslim countries. the case to lead to a standoff between the newest justice, neil gorsuch, and the man who put him on the court, president trump. they said the ban was unconstitutional. it took days of troubleshooting but british airways is back to normal. they're running a full regular schedule at heathrow airport in london. travelers had to deal with all kinds of delays and frustrations from a devastating system wide outage this past weekend. a computer outage caused the

lost bags to all passengers. a group of people jumped into action to help a dallas police officer. it was all caught on video. they're trying to push the patrol car back on to its tires. an officer was trapped inside. a pickup truck hit the patrol car sending it airborne. it fell 50 feet into the creek below. without thinking they tried to free the officer. >> we pushed it over. we opened the door. i got in there. we drug him out and everybody showed up right on time. >> even in today's society, you know, everything is going wrong, that's the right thing to do. absolutely. i wouldn't have thought twice, you know? >> the officer is now recovering in the hospital. investigators say the people in the pickup truck left the scene. ♪ ♪

latest. good morning. >> eun, good morning. relieving news this morning. it appears metro shuttle buses are catching up to demand this morning. this is the fourth shuttle bus we've seen arrive to replace the impacted red line service. things did get off to a rocky start this morning. we did see quite a few frustrated riders out here waiting for the first shuttle bus to take off. close to 5:15 they were told the bus would be here. they had been waiting 45 minutes until we saw that first train go by. no trains between noma-gallaudet and fort totten. we can tell you frustrations were high this morning with riders. here's what they had to say. >> i had to call and tell them, i'm going to be a little late. >> i'm late for work. i'm supposed to be to work at 6:00. >> i got off the bus and

noma-gallaudet and fort totten. >> train service restored. in addition to red line delays and issues, clouds and fog. visibility reduced a good bit in some locations. down to a half mile in dulles airport. not a big issue everywhere. there are foggy spots around. low to mid 60s now. should make upper 70s to near 80. rain and thunderstorms are a true likelihood. rain showers potentially as early as lunchtime. here it is on future showers. few peaks of sunshine after that and with some daytime heating we'll have stronger thunderstorms between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. today. not much on radar. most of the thunderstorms are still well up to our north. there is a slight chance of severe weather in pennsylvania. our risk is one step below that in the marginal category. keep the weather out of the sky.
