feeling the heat. president trump fighting off critical headlines. mr. trump telling the times earlier this week he has total confidence in his son-in-law. the washington post reporting kushner asked about using russian diplomatic facilities to shield the back channel communications from u.s. surveillance. nbc news was first to report the 36-year-old is under fbi skrooutny in the russia investigation into possible collusion between the trump campaign and russia though he's not a target of the inquiry. president trump writing jarod is doing a great job for the country. he's respected by virtually everyone adding he's a very good person. the reported back channel effort getting mixed reaction. >> i don't see any mbig issue relative to jarod. any time you can open lines of communication with anyone

i think he's someone who 25 years old his father went to prison and he took over a family empire. it hardens a human being in a way that most political operatives i'd say you and i included have not been tested personally. i think he's a tough guy. i think what continues to trip up the white house, they were so unprepared to assume the office of the presidency that they had no staff. i find it hard to believe that they couldn't wait a few weeks to start engaging in foreign policy. their excuses are nonsensical and even the attorneys are trying to get their arms around the set of facts to see if the excuses hold water. they make no sense when you consider what was happening. they had no cabinet, yet, they had to urgently rush into foreign policy negotiations secretly with russia? it makes no sense. >> you're telling us it's going to be another calm week in washington? >> happy summer, everybody. >> thank you both. >> now to breaking

word that manue l noriega has died. >> good morning. he was a drug lord. he was a dictator and an ally of the united states playing a key role in the iran contra scandal until he was overthrown by u.s. troops in 1990. he was once one of the world's most powerful military strongmen. a career soldier. he served as head of military intelligence after he took over panama's government. after the leader was killed in a plane crash, norieaga installed himself as the country's later. he was a paid informant for the u.s. government. he also trafficked drugs and secretly sold american technology. the u.s. looked the other way forar

of the attack. lucy is in manchester for us with more on it. >> reporter: good morning. this investigation now focusing on the four days leading up to the attack. salman abedi returned back to england on may 18th. authorities are working to piece together how and where he assembled that bomb. this morning british police are asking for the public's help releasing this photo of the manchester bomber wheeling a large blue suitcase. he was spotted with it at two different locations on the day of the attack. authorities scrambling to piece together salman abedi's movements in his final days. this chilling video obtained by the bbc shows what appears to be abedi casually shopping near the apartment where he stayed just hours before the bombing. this is the place where he built the bomb? >> this is the point at which he finally put together a device that he had spent

making. where the suitcase went between him manufacturing the explosives and coming here to put the bomb together is the final bit that the police are trying to work out. >> reporter: the investigation not slowing down. in their hunt for clues, police combing through nearly 13,000 hours of tv shoot taj, collecting more than 600 pieces of evidence, searching at least 21 locations and counting. a forensic team on monday scouring this landfill on the outskirts of the city. could authorities have stopped the attack? britain's domestic intelligence agency, mi 5 warned about abedi is investigating why it failed to act. was there the potential to thwart this attack? >> there were opportunities. >> reporter: it's been one week since the attack claimed 22 victims, 7 of

that arraignment will happen in court later today. the suspect who was well known to police was caught on tape spewing hate speech. this as some say he was a ticking time bomb waiting to kill. the day before the deadly train attack in portland -- >> it's like we got a muslim bus ride. i'll stab you too. >> reporter: new cell phone video surfaced that police confirmed shows the suspect on a hate-filled tirade. police say the very next day christian yelled anti-muslim and ethnic slurs at two young female passengers on a train before stabbing three men who tried to come to their defense, killing two. >> the first thing i thought about was we're sitting ducks. >> reporter: michael kennedy, a former paramedic reached two victims giving bass cpr as he slipped away. >> he was surrounded by people soothing him and caring for him.

was a recent graduate. his sister addressing mourners through a stream of tears. >> reporter: everything he did in his life he had purpose. this morning a growing tribute for victims. after the bloodshed here in oregon, the president sent out this tweet. the violent attacks in portland are unacceptable. the victims were standing up to hate and intolerance. the suspect will be in court later today where he'll face at least two counts of murder. >> miguel almaguer in portland for us, thank you very much. now to texas have weather a scuffle on monday broke out between lawmakers on the house floor. it happened on a final day of the legislative session. one lawmaker said he called immigration authorities on a group of people protesting a ban of

on an atm in new york. they suspect he put them on 20 other a ttms. he's pled not. one skimmer can hit hundreds of customers in a single day. draining bank accounts. this morning we're about to show you how to spot a skimmer and the new device thieves are using to get your pin number. >> watch at this man walks up to an atm in california. police say he's pulling out a skimming device and sticking it on to the machine in seconds. tops are still looking for him. just days ago police in new hampshire finding this small skimmer in an atm. across the country, suspects still on the loose from new york to massachusetts. targeting customers just like you and these little skimmers can be hard to spot. it's a small electronic device placed right over

reader. it looks like part of the machine. as you're withdrawing cash, it's recording your debit card information for the crooks. so how can you tell if your atm is being skimmed? we set up an experiment with west come credit krunon, the makers of atms. i want you to come in closer and look at the atm. this is the kind you'd find at a grocery store. this looks normal to me. apparently it isn't. jim, our cyber security expert is here. what have you done? >> so this is a skimmer. yeah. it's that small. and that easy to place. >> look at the chip. the chip is right there. >> yep. >> reporter: it just slides in? >> yep. >> reporter: that's incredible. i couldn't see that when that was on there. that looks normal. don't you need my pin number? >> i do, but there's also a camera that we stuck in. it's velcroed into the

>> you're pushing 60 and still called a kid. it feels okay. >> how long after the show went off the air did you guys realize that you were never going to walk away omhe characters? they would always be a part of your life? >> i remember a teenage girl came over and asked me to sign an autograph for her mother, and right then i knew. i was in for good. >> i had to reach peace with it in my 20s. i was trying to get away from it. then it was always in the room before me. it was always in the room after me. >> size, you also? >> yeah. you spend a little while trying to run away from it, but you can't. it's like having a hunch back. i mean, you can't disguise it so you might as well dress it up. >> what do people -- that was one of the most unusual analo analogies i've ever heard. what do people most often say to you when they come up and

connected so with the show? >> i sort of had to figure that out. it's become a generational thing. every age group was represented on the original show, and now those people have children, and we're even into the third generation of brady fans. our fans have grandchildren. >> the it's also a style of television. people are asking i wish they made shows that way now. of course, things change so they can't, but there are network that will and they'll show classic television. there's a new one, the me tv started a new campaign called the summer of me. they do blocks of all the classic sitcoms and westerns and you can sit down and watch it. and then they have a brady wrun brunch on sundays. four brady bunch episodes back to back. >> it was wholesome, but it was a different time in all of our lives. >> yeah, but i think there's still a need
