prince william county those have been dealing with the brunt of it storm after storm developing here. training along 66 especially around manassas. more storms and take a look here. look at the latest storm coming into d.c. notice the storms just down to our south. a lot of lightning with these storms all making their witowards the east. they are tending to continue to fall apart as they move into southern maryland. let's go back six hours and track the strongest of storms. two distinct storms one came right through this one right here came through d.c. came through the winchester area fred there was a tornado warning earlier. jackie bensen with more on that. >> officials here tell us that whatever came through here

and towards a mobile home park. several homes were damaged. it was a race against darkness to get the branches of a huge tree off the roof of this home before it would be too dark to do so. >> we saw the rotation in the clouds. and the hail started. we went inside and i was trying to get everybody from the living room when about a 70 to 100 foot tree fell on our trailer. >> the power went out. witnesses say the rain came down so hard it looked like midnight hours before sunset. officials in fredrick county, virginia say that the storm damage appears to be localized to this area just off route 7. >> no injuries. minor damage to homes. there is one home still being looked at by building inspectors. >> reporter: a crew from sky high tree services worked quickly to allow residents to get back inside

down 16th street when he heard the woman screaming in the taxi. he called 911 and pulled ahead of the cab forcing it to stop at 16th and emerson street. the cab driver's name is yared mekonnen. he told police he was just driving her home. she told police she wlives in virginia. new calls tonight for a zero tolerance policy on hate and bias incidents at college campuses. the naacp and student leaders making demands in the after math of that deadly stabbing at the university of maryland. megan fitzgerald is live to explain the changes they want to see. >> reporter: the state and student leaders of the naacp say they are well aware of the university of maryland's new action plan to try to stop these incidents that they see on campus like creating

tonight comedian kathie griven is apologizing for tweeting a bloody picture of the president. you may have seen the image on your social media feed. we made a decision not to show it here. it is griffin holding up a bloody decapitated head that looks a lot like president trump. the comedian tweeted it was quote mocking the mocker in chief. chelsea clinton called the photo wrong and wrote on twitter it is never funny to joke about killing a president. donald trump jr. tweeted that it was disgusting and imagined what would happen to a conservative who did the same to president obama. griffin did back down and posted an apologize on instagram. i went way too far. the image is too disturbing. i understand how it offends people. it wasn't funny. i get it. i went too far. i made a mistake

wrong. there are indications the secret service took this seriously when the image was circulating earlier tonight. the agency tweeted that threats made against those it protects receive the absolute highest priority. chris lawrence, news 4. a three hour standoff is over tonight. police say they have arrested a man who pointed a gun at an officer inside the orlando airport. police say no one is hurt, no shots were fired. a temporary lockdown was just lifted but state highway officials have shut down all roads to the airport. police in prince georges county are asking for help in solving a murder. they got a call to check on someone this afternoon at a complex on newton street. officers found a

an apartment there. they say he had signs of trauma to his body but not clear yet how he died. now to the district where a driver ran into an elderly woman earlier this evening here at the intersection of 12th street. fire officials tell us the woman has critical injuries. no word yet if she was in a cross walk. you can see they are clearly marked there at the scene. montgomery county detectives are trying to figure out if a crime was committed. someone dropped off a little girl at the hospital. there were no sign of her parents. no one at the hospital even knew the toddler's name. police say the woman brought the 2 year old to holy cross for medical treatment and said she didn't know the toddler and didn't know her parents. police will only say this about that woman. >> she was asked to baby sit the child on saturday by her sister. when she couldn't get in touch with her sister she brought the

the child is and did find one of her parents. they are trying to determine who the legal guardians are and if she has proper care. now to a story of two mothers, one who will spend the rest of her life without her son, the other who today was sentenced to 40 years for helping the ms 13 gang carry out that teen's murder. christian morales was 18 years old when police say gang members stabbed him more than 150 times killing him. prosecutors say they were waiting for him in a park. vanessa al varodo lured him there with the promise of sex. christian's mother held her son's picture as a judge sentenced her today. >> translator: those horrible people just come and kill innocent lives. they shouldn't be here. >> the judge says she hopes her sentence sends a strong message

ceremony held in new york city tonight honoring thousands of rescue and recovery workers. today marks the 15th anniversary of the end of the formal recovery operations at the world trade center. workers shared memories and discussed health issues. singer olivia newton john is postponing her current tour because she has been diagnosed again with breast cancer. she was set to tour the u.s. and canada next month. she says the breast cancer is in her back. she was previously treated for breast cancer in 1992 and was declared cancer free. after she received chemotherapy and a partial mastectomy. since that battle she has been an advocate for breast cancer awareness. a lot of consumers depend on those online reviews before they travel

complaini complaining. >> a new federal law bars companies from inserting nondisparagement clauses that threaten or penalize people for posting negative reviews. consumer reports says you should still watch what you say. >> the review has to be audited and accurate. companies can sue you for defamation if you make a false statement that can damage the reputation. >> reporter: don't generalize. just speak about your own particular experience. consumers say companies should be eager to address poor reviews. >> how is a business supposed to grow? how is it supposed to learn from its mistake? >> another way to protect yourself is if the company reaches out to you to offer an explanation and you realize you are wrong then consider deleting the comment and let the company know you did so without admitting wrong doing. >>

we have lightning around wood bridge. 95 just a mess here. nothing severe but the very strong, very heavy rainfall continues. heads up. one thing you lose the lightning and instability. we are not seeing much more make its way. right along the beltway still seeing the rain. you can see the areas that the thunderstorms rotating around the big area of low pressure to the north. there is more back to our west and another line back towards chicago. this is what we are going to see chicago. a day kind of similar to today although tomorrow i think we wake up to some fog. look at our tower cam. the rain, 67 degrees. winds out of the north at about five miles per hour. many areas well over five, six, seven inches of rain for the month. we may see more tomorrow. starting off 7:00 a.m. the blue ridge. to the east i think we have a
