afghanistan where dozens are dead. angie goff is at the live desk. -- kabul, this happened in the heart of kabul, in the middle of rush hour. take a look. security forces filling the streets as a plume of smoke continues to tower over the area. homes in many of the areas under siege, as well as residential homes. the truck bomb killed at many as 80. injuring hundreds. searchers are still pulling bodies from the rubble. this is known to be the heart of the city. we know several of the embassies are reporting damage to their buildings. no record on the nationality of victims or who's behind the attack. and also this morning, the u.s. embassy on kabul releasing a state online advising all americans to avoid traveling to the city right now. more as we get it, back to you.

if you live in virginia, you may have seen and heard all of that hail last night. listen to it. this video is from faulkner county. the big question the national weather service will try to answer this morning is whether a tornado touched down in northern virginia. that same storm caused series of damage to a mobile home park in frederick county, virginia. officials say no one was hurt but power was knocked out and five or six big trees crashed down. much of the damage centered around the mobile home park outside of winchester. one neighbor told us a falling tree nearly killed him and his family. >> when the hail started, we want inside. i was trying to get everybody from the living room when about a 70 to 100-foot tree fell in our trail right on top of my head where i was standing. thank gosh it did not come through. that inspector told me i was

darcy? >> reporter: good morning, this is a frightening situation. imagine a person out for a night of drinking here on the u street corridor thinking they're doing the right thing, taking a cab to get home safely. instead, this woman said she was sexually assaulted by that cab driver. he has been arrested. yared mekonnen. 24 years old. charged with sexual abuse and kidnapping. he's due in court tomorrow. the woman woke up in the back seats of the cab. a good samaritan heard her screaming, called 911 and blocked in the cab. fortunately, the police were able to take that driver into custody. important to note that the cab driver is denying the allegations. >> darcy, the woman screamed she was trying to get home. but what are court documents revealing about what the cab driver actually di

it is a tough day for students at quinn park. norman white was killed after driving home from his job from a pizza parlor. prince george's county police say the 17-year-old lost control of his car and slammed into a tree on temple hill road. a funeral will be held at the first baptist church of glenarden. the naacp is calling for a zero tolerance policy on hate and bias incidents on college campuses. the demands from the group and student leaders come after the unprovoked stabbing of lieutenant richard collins at the university of maryland. police have linked the suspect in this case to a white supremacist facebook group. the opportunity has announced plans for a hate bias response team. more money for diverse education. but the naacp said the punishments for these incidents are not harsh enough.

behind the wheel with the car running. once they woke him up, he was sluggish with slurred speech. a breathalyzer shows that woods had not been drinking at all. he said he was on prescription drugs. and the arrest of woods is putting the spotlight on the issue of drug driving. what police are seeing more often. what you see here is a special dwi squad in fairfax county for about a year now. the dwi officers are getting new special training with experts that way, officers can pick up on more suttle clues of drivers who are intoxicated with drugs. underground explosion. it's video that looks straight out from a movie. ahead, what's behind this blast. and as you're heading out the door, warm temperatures but a chance of showers later today. nice to end the week.
