>> let's get to it. two security guards killed and more than 30 others wounded. assailants armed with rifles stormed into the parliament building. one of the attackers blew himself up in a separate incident another group of attackers insiding a second suicide bomber struck a shrine outside tehran. isis has reportedly claimed responsibility. jeremy bash has been keeping an eye on things overnight. jeremy, good morning. this is very rare to have a terror attack inside iran. what kind of a signal would it send if isis is, in fact, behind this? >> this would be the first attack by isis inside iran. but, of course, it's not the first instance of isis going to war with iranian-backed elements in the region. in syria iran is back t asaad regime. that's where i

to get the agency to back off the investigation into russia and form a national security adviser michael flynn. near the end of the briefing the president asked everyone to leave the room except for coats and mike pom ppeo. also this morning "the new york times" reports the day after president trump asked comey to end his investigation into flynn, comey told jeff sessions he did not want to be left alone again with the president. while comey believed the attorney general should protect the fbi from white house influence, the times reports sessions couldn't guarantee the president wouldn't try to talk to comey alone again. when asked about comey's upcoming testimony, the president said only this. >> i wish him luck. >> sources say when he testifies thursday, he's likely to detail a pattern of what

consumed the president on every level. the report about the director of national intelligence was more than just -- he wanted him to go to comey and say lay off of mike flynn and the russia investigation. in talking to people very close and supportive of dan coats, he's been concerned all along by the atmosphere of the relationship between his interactions with the white house and intel. he testifies today. there's two days of hearings. comey's tomorrow. but he testifies today and that's going to be a big part of this conversation as well. he's going to help add to this obvious nature where the president is just consumed. >> we don't know what james comey is going to say but there are reports he will stopho of accusing the president of trying to obstruct justice. might we have a situation where we're talking about the legal definition of obstruction versus the emotional definition of obstruction? >> yes. it's by obstruction of justice

on this point. but the fact is all of the circumstantial evidence re says the president is trying to do everything he could to stop this investigation for one reason or the other. we don't have the motivation behind it just yet, and he's asked people to step in multiple times. yes, james comey is going to have to explain why if he was so concerned to write a memo that he didn't take it to his superior. in this case, either the attorney general or the deputy attorney general. we're in a crisis i think as a country with our institutions. if the reasoning is what the director of the fbi is saying that he didn't know who the trust at the situation. if we're in a situation where the director of the fbi can't trust his superiors, now you have that superior offer his resignation to the president. where are we? we're not in a very good place, and folks on capitol hill -- it's another check moment for them. >> a role for congress to play. >> yes. >> we

edward snowden has come out in support of winner, writing online that she should be freed on bail. >> all right. gabe, thank you. let's turn now to dramatic new testimony at bill cosby's trial. the woman at the center of the case telling her story for the first time in public claiming the comedian drugged and sexually assaulted her at his home. stephanie gosk is at the courthouse. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. andrea is back on the stand today. you can be sure her story will be picked apart again by a defense team determined to undermine her credibility. she says she saw cosby as a friend, as a mentor, and that he nodded yes when she asked him if the pills he was about to give her were herbal. her testimony, the most pivotal moment of the trial. the memories are more than a decade old. the details she shared in court,

caught up her civil attorney. >> how did it go? >> i thought she had composure and bravery. it's hard to talk about intimate details like that in a room full of people. >> reporter: she said soon after cosby gave her three blue pills, i began to slur my words. i said to cosby, i see two of you. she says he moved her to a couch, telling her, i was trying to get my hands and legs to move but i was frozen. unable to fight back, she says cosby molested her, adding, i wanted it to stop. the defense team will focus a lot of attention on what happened next. she maintained contact with cosby, at least 72 phone calls. >> how are you feeling today? >> reporter: even accepting tickets to attend one of his shows. she said i did not have the courage at the time to tell my family, so i

with it. after a year, she shared her story with her mother. the defense team wanted to know why she looked into civil attorneys before telling the police. i wasn't familiar with who i needed to call, she said. i just reached out to them for guidance and to get advice. dozens of women have accused cosby of inappropriate sexual contact. the ka median denies all the allegations. after court on tuesday, he left seemingly in good spirits. slipping into an old role that almost everyone remembers. the woman was unrattled by questions about ib consistencies in her statement to police or any suggestion she was just out for money, but it's not over. on her way out, one of the defense attorneys for cosby says we are just getting started. >> all right. thank you. we have a lot more news this morning including this one out of atlanta. police searching for a suspect after a bizarre incident there.

morning. what's shaking in the weather. >> rain. a lot of rain in the south. look at what we saw on camera yesterday in forest county, mississippi. this camper swept up by flood waters. caught on camera rushing down what was a street as it goes into the overpass, and the top of the camper is stuck on the bridge. heavy, heavy rain that falls in a short period of time, leads to flash flooding. today our best chance of seeing some of the flooding is across northern florida and near southern florida where the rain has been coming down hard for several days now. we've actually got this moisture coming in off the gulf of mexico that's going to produce more rounds of heavy downpours. we've already seen some areas like miami picking up more than half of what they see in june. we're only in the beginning of june. more rain today especially up near napels, we could see another 5 inches of rain. your local forecast is coming up

this story. >> reporter: that's right. good morning. michelle carter is sitting trial for allegedly encouraging her own boyfriend to take his life. the question facing the judge today, is can one person be held legally responsible for the suicide of another? >> i told him it was okay. >> reporter: an emotional first day in court. the heart broken loved ones of conrad roy wiping away tears a few feet away from michelle carter charged with involuntary manslaughter, accused of enkrjing roy to kill himself. >> this case is a suicide case, not a homicide. >> she pushed him to kill himself sooner rather than later and mocked him when he chose to delay his death. >> reporter: prosecutors say in 2014 carter coerced roy to end his life by text message. >> there were multiple disturbing texts she send roy days before his death. tonight is the night, she wrote. it's now or never. when roy texted, i'm freaking out again. i'm overthinking. rt

welcome welcome back. 7:41. there's a shift at uber this morning. >> amid a growing harassment investigation, the ride sharing service has fired at least 20 employees. nbc business correspondent jo lean kent is at the company's head quarters in san francisco. jo, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. it may be the biggest story in silicone valley. allegations of sexual harassment and the broader culture inside uber. at least 20 people have been fired and this may be the tip of the iceberg. this morning at least 30 people employed fired after an investigation into more than 200 claims of sexual harassment

behavior inside the company. all of this sparked by a former engineer, susan fouler who described unwanted sexual advances by her supervisor in a february blog post. when she reported it to human resources, she says it was swept under the rug and she was told her boss was a high performer who management wouldn't feel comfortable punishing. the uber ceo launched an internal investigation saying anyone who behaves this way or thinks this is okay, we fired. uber also brought in erik holder to run an inquiry on the broader culture of the company. his findings to be announced next week. this is amid a personal and p professional crisis for the ceo. his parents in a boat accident. accusations of sexism, bro culture and aggressive business
