right now, we believe the deaths are connected. we have new information released by police in just the past few hours. what we have learned about the man and woman involved. the attorney general of maryland and the district of columbia plan to sue president trump. an announcement as a major lawsuit is expected in the next hour. the law they say the president is violating. and from an air quality alert to near record temperatures. not to mention we are going to be seeing storms during the middle of the week. we have a lot to talk about. stick around for the full forecast.

good morning, everyone. i'm angie goff. we want to begin with our weather. it's aweather alert day because of the heat and humidity. some already hitting 90. storm team 4 meteorologist is here with more on what we can expect. it sounds like a little bit of everything this week. >> in fact, not only today but tomorrow we have our weather alert in place. that's because it's so hot out there. you factor in the humidity that's rising even higher. tomorrow temperatures are near 100 degrees we are seeing thunderstorms move in during the middle of the week. we have a lot to get to. let's go ahead and talk about the temperatures out there. right now i'm going to step off screen.

trage tragedy. blood still stains the wheelchair ramp out front. people who knew her are just stunned. >> i cannot believe i'll never see her again. one is in a wheelchair. just before 7:00, neighbors say her ex-husband showed up and attacked his former wife. a neighbor tried to give assistance but her injuries were just too severe. minutes later police got another call for shots fired at this home on ross drive southwest. that's the ex-husband's home. >> her daughter now has a severely handicappedro

no parents. >> and police have not released any names, not yet. but they do want to emphasize that there is no greater threat to the community. back to you all in the studio. >> such a sad story, thank you. we do have new information on two other lis investigations. the first one out ofwood bridge. police tell news 4 that a woman is in the hospital after a shooting at the quality inn on horner road. this happened just before 9:00 this morning. police are still on the scene and are looking for a man connected to the case. some people had to evacuate from that hotel. still no word on how seriously the woman was hurt. right now maryland state police investigating a shooting here in frederick, maryland. according to the frederick news post, police found a man shot in the head off green valley road early this morning. chopper 4 here

when police detained two people for questioning. the injured man was alert and conscious when he was taken to the hospital. we have learned that one of three u.s. soldiers killed in afghanistan over the weekend was from maryland. sergeant eric houck was killed. the afghan official says the soldier's death stemmed from an i tack by an aftghan soldier. the sergeant was 25 years old. happening today, the attorney general from the district in maryland are expected to file a lawsuit against president trump. we expect to hear from them later today about the case that they are building against the president taking aim at trump hotels accusing the president of violating the constitution. "the washington post" first reported the lawsuits focused on payments tr the foreign government. the justice department argued a similar suit filed earlier this year does not have legal standing. president trump is leading a ab

and recent cases of extreme turbulence like this don't help. horrified passengers tossed around on this flight to dallas. >> someone said we dropped at least a thousand teet. >> just weeks ago severe turbulence striking this flight. out of nowhere carts crashing, people thrown to the ground. a nightmare for fearful fliers. so what can you do so your fears don't keep you grounded. you come here to air hollywood. this is a state of the art facility where they say they can hear your fear of flying. they actually take nervous fliers through the whole experience from the waiting area where they get nervous all the way to the airplane. let's g honest, what are most people nervous about? turbulence. they have this turbulence simulator. they can shake, rattle and roll this airplane to mimic light

they are undergoing surgery. police believe that the suspect who shot this woman is in this hotel in an upper floor hotel room on the far end of this building. now that end of the building has been e evacuated. the rest of the building is in lockdown. we understand from police they don't believe anyone else is in danger. they don't believe this is a hostage situation or active shooter situation. they believe the suspect is in that hotel room. what they are trying to determine is whether the possibility that that suspect has taken their own life or whether they just holed up. we were told a short time ago that police were preparing inside this hotel to make forced entry into that room. that's the latest. we can give you another shot tr it our chopper 4 above us to give you an idea of how many roads are closed in the area and how big the response is here at this hotel. again, one adult female shot inside this hotel just before 9:00 a.m. this morning. police believe that t

like outside. 92 degrees already in d.c. it's a what it feels like. also in the low 90s. so we are just getting started. we're going to see the temperatures rise. and the thing about it is not only are we under a poor air quality alert, but it's very is humid out there. so it's making for some stifling heat. as we head into the evening, it's going to take its time cooling down. even by 9:00, we're still in the 80s. keep that in mind while you are planning your outdoor day. here's what you want to keep in mind. i want you to reduce the distance for running because of the poor air quality. you're going to want to not run or have strenuous tiflts outdoor. also bring extra water. it you're eating outside, grab a seat in the shade.
