there are a number of people being treated for injuries. two people being treated for smoke inhalation. we are hearing that hundreds of firefighters are on the scene battling this blaze. we are hearing that police have cordoned off the area because bricks are falling off and they fear the building will collapse. we will let you know what happens there as we get more information there. >> just incredible pictures there. a frighteningly close call for a child trying to keep cool on this very hot day. the 5 year old nearly drowned at a swimming pool at an apartment complex. that was just one of four incidents involving swimming today. over a seven hour period crews responded to calls for help in d.c., silver spring, potomac and rocky gorge. at least people died. >> reporter: chopp

neighborhood in silver spring. montgomery county fire rescue tell us a boy nearly drowned in the pool. a lifeguard pulled him out and medics responded and he is in serious condition. it is the fourth water emergency today during this heat wave. >> it is earl ain the season. people are not accustomed to and not in mode of safety. >> reporter: a toddler died after he was found in a backyard around d.c. around 11:30 today. the child died after he was found in this small pool at a home daycare. this evening a woman was found at the bottom of a pool in potomac. medics rushed her to a hospital after cpr was performed. no word on her condition. >> pools are attractive. heat waves make us draw attention to the pools. at the same time pools and the lifeguards at the pools

the hashtag sessions hearing is trending on twitter. the questions really brought new information into the investigation into the russian election interference or accusations of presidential obstructi obstruction. attorney general sessions -- quote an appalling and detestable lie but pushed back questions citing a long standing justice department policy that he says protects private conversations between the president and his cabinet. sessions' repeated refusals led to a series of heated exchanges. this one sparking the most conversation on social media. >> the policy is based on the principle that the president -- >> i'm not asking about the
