death of philando castile. the police department is going to part ways with the officer. and the search for seven navy sailors is going on after a u.s. ship and container collided. they believe the sailors could be trapped in a damaged part of the ship. commander bryce benson was hurt and is in stable condition. he earned a masters degree from george washington university. jurors in the bill cosby trial will resume deliberation this is morning. they have already been at it for 52 hours with no verdict reached in the sexual assault case. yesterday jurors asked the judge to read back testimony from accuser andrea constand's brother-in-law. the defense team has asked many

called. now to theat 7:00 a.m., james hodgkinson opened fire on 22 zbop lgop lawmakers alexandria at a ballpark. the congressmen were practicing for the congressional baseball game. four people were shot including house majority whip steve scalise who is in critical condition. police shot and killed hodgkinson. pete williams reporting on the concerning list that hodgkinson wrote down. >> reporter: while james hodgkinson was firing at members of congress wednesday morning, he was carrying a handwritten list in his pocket, names of several republican congressmen adding a new element of mystery about whether he planned some kind of attack in advance. according to officials briefed on the fbi investigation, the list included congressman trent frank of arizona, jeff d

welcome back. fans and loved ones of actress carrie fisher have closure this morning. the los angeles coroner says fisher died from sleep apnea and a combination of other factors. the coroner's report also says fisher suffered from heart disease. she suffered a medical emergency on an international flight back in december. she died on december 27

you could be walking your cat around here this morning. we'll be starting off with local clouds. here's a live view from the storm team 4 tower camera overlooking washington and northwest washington there in the foreground. off in the distance, we have the fog with the washington monument and the potomac river. and a lot of low clouds around. it is patchy, dense fog, especially in the rural areas where some of the visibility is down under a quarter of a mile. and temperatures in the shenandoah valley and mountains are in the 60s. closer to washington, we are hovering near 70 in prince george's, fairfax and arlington. mid-70s in washington, low to mid-70s around the bay. we are all dry on storm team 4 radar for now. hour-by-hour timing, by the meantime, we have patches of green and a few isolated rain showers popping up in maryland and virginia. maybe even rumbles of thunder early afternoon and parts of virginia and maryland. and ait

it is widely along the west virginia/virginia border and the shenandoah vall. storms may roll through there around 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. the rest of the region has an isolated shower or storm. into the evening hours, when the two get going we'll break up mid-evening. then during the day, we'll hover in the low to mid-80s during the afternoon. back down to 80 by 10:00 p.m. tomorrow we may see more storms in the afternoon widely scattered. not severe near 90 tomorrow. then a livelihood of storms monday afternoon with some downpours, perhaps some hail and damaging winds monday afternoon. after that, we settle down on tuesday and through midweek maybe a few showers wednesday and thursday. into next weekend, a week from today, could get some afternoon storms. that's the way it looks. all right, tom, thank you very much. it's the metro maintenance program that is derailing a lot of people's commutes and maybe yours.

murder of two norud night for the teens at their ch germantown. the two were gunned down the night before graduation. the vigil took place just hours after montgomery county police held a press conference on the investigation. police said they found dozens of shell casings at the crime scene. and that there were at least two shooters and the shooting was not random. police are investigating reports that he owed someone money and that a debt collector stopped by his house. >> my wife heard a noise at the back door. it was about 2:00 in the morning. and she said, the door was open, the back door, but we have -- i didn't see that, we didn't see nobody. >> police say they believe one of the teens may have known the shooter. they urge anyone to speak up and not be afraid to do
