one person is dead, ten others injured. we do know there is a man in custody and we've learned that nypd is sending extra officers to patrol mosques in the new york city area as a precaution. earlier this month, extremists drove a van into i crowd on a london bridge killing eight there. >> thank you, molette. a developing story. u.s. navy identified all seven sailors who were killed saturday morning when a destroyer collided with a merchant ship off the coast of japan. they range in age from 19 to 37 years old and two of them are from right here in our backyard. xavier martin is from baltimore county and dakota rigsby from palmyra, virginia outside charlottesville. rigsby's death is hitting one community particularly hard. he graduated high school in fluvanna county. he's a firefighter.

station or start your commute in other area as well. we're learning more about a plan to overhaul -- prince george's in montgomery county legislators are calling for an equitable funding plan. the proposal would require the district, maryland and virginia to give metro $170 million a year and each jurisdiction would have to figure out how to fund that outlay. officials will release the full plan later today. water is filling up the reflecting pool once again today. this is what it looked like over the last week, work crews from the national park service draining and scrubbing that pool after 80 ducklings were found dead. the ducklings died because of a parasite found growing in snails that were inside that pool. officials plan to continue to monitor the water quality. it's 4:35.

assault that put an entire neighborhood on edge. >> people rattled by this. back in may, a man assaulted a woman inside of her apartment at the atrium condominiums on dee boulevard. he posed as a maintenance man. this is the new video. it shows a man entering the building just before that assault took place. you can see the suspect walking up to the door, signaling someone to open it and walking inside. the suspect knocked on several doors before convincing a woman to open hers and then he forced his way inside. arlington police say that they are devoting a lot of resources to getting this man off the streets. >> while we continue to work our leads and this is a top priority of department, we're using lots of resources from different areas, working with our regional partners, but the public plays a key role. we want you to look at surveillance. somebody will recognize that individual. we need you to come forward and report that information. >> so you can go

lake in gaithersburg. they were searching for a missing 13-year-old when they discovered a body the ground keeper found and teenager's personal belongings near that lake on saturday. if you ride your bike or walk in arlington county, you know how dangerous it can be at busy intersections. now changes are coming to several spots to improve safety. the arlington county board approved the $1.7 million project to put new traffic lights and sidewalks on arlington boulevard at park drive and manchester street. the county will also spend $2 million to improve several intersections along the trail and the washington and old dominion trails as we know it. starting next week, it's going to cost you more to ride the bus or rail on metro. that's because fare increases begin on june 25th. that means that you will pay an extra 25 cents to take the bus. it's going to cost between $.10 and $.25 more to take

an uphill struggle. we have a flash flood watch. that was just issued a few minutes ago by national weather service. a flash flood watch that does include all of the d.c. metro area. prince george's county, arlington county, fairfax county, prince william county, loudoun, anne arundel, all under the flash flood watch from 3:00 to 9:00 today. the timing is where we are most likely to see strong or severe storms. not much going on, on radar. but there are even thunderstorms here in the early morning hours across parts of ohio, pennsylvania and new york. so already thunderstorms out there. a risk of severe weather around here. marginal risk in the shenandoah valley. an enhanced risk in the d.c. metro area. primary threats, damaging winds and hail. but because of the slow-movin
