she was last seen alive with her friends in the early morning hours of sunday. the suspect in this case, this 22-year-old garland martina torres. he's facing a murder charge. as you mentioned, torres and nabra got into a confrontation early sunday morning in the area of jer ansville and -- near the adams center where nabra and her friends walked to a nearby mcdonald's to have food before going back to ramadan prayers. now she's being mourned there at that mosque. >> it means that no one is safe here, especially the women here. my cousin comes by herself all the time sometimes. it's scary knowing that there's people out there like that. >> reporter: very hard time for those at the adams center mosque after all of this. an autopsy will determine the cause of death in this case and determine who this person is. family and friends

seven sailors that were killed saturday morning when a destroyer collided with a merchant ship off the coast of japan. the sailors range in age from 19 to 37 years old. and two of them are from here in our backyard. xavier march ton is from -- martin is from the area. rigsby's death is hitting one community particularly hard. he graduated high school in fluvanna coin and served as a volunteer firefighter. his fellow firefighters describe him as the type of guy who would give you the shirt off his back. >> can't believe somebody that young. i mean, he had a great life ahead of him. but he served our country. he did what he loved. so i'm proud of him. >> flags are flying at half-staff in that community to remember the 19-year-old sailor. today, foreign

circumstances suspicious. the car was found saturday morning at a home on excalibur lane in sandy springs. zifrn we could learn the identity of a child pulled out of maple lake over the weekend. police were searching for a 13-year-old when they discovered a body. a grounds keeper found the belongings near the lake on saturday. if you ride your back or just walk in arlington county, you know how dangerous it can be at the intersections there. changes coming to improve safety. the arlington county aboard a $1.7 million project to put new traffic lights and swaukts on arlington boulevard at park drive and manchester street. the county will spend $2 million to improve several intersections along the trails and the w and no -- trails. starting next week, it will cost you more to ride the bus or take the rails. that's because fare

light volume. love to see that whatever time of day it is. outer loop, after pennsylvania avenue, disabled vehicle there along the right side. not seeing really much of a slowdown there because of that. as you head inbound on indian head highway, near palmer, livingston road, disabled vehicle blocks the center of the roadway. starting to see slowdown there. charles town, northbound at palmswood road. have a crash there as well. as far as your travel times around town, take a look. 270 south from germantown to the spur, you're on time there. 68 miles per hour. you'll get there in 11 minutes. top of the beltway, showing the outer loop. 95 to 270 again on time. inner loop is also looking quite good this morning. 66 inbound and 95 northbound. both of those, you are in the clear. no major issues there. remember to listen to wcop 103.5 fm when you hop in your car today. minutes away from the 6:00 a.m. hour and we have new numbers about the level of gun violence
