member jim graham. we're going to begin this hour with two deadly shootings. >> two men found dead, chopper four was up over one of the locations this afternoon. police say they found a man dead from gunshot wound in the hallway building on 45th avenue just a few blocks away police in riverdale found another man shot to death. investigators say the two individuals appeared to know each other. you're looking into the possibility, it may be a case of murder suicide. >> a chaotic scene. >> mega bus hit several cars dragging down one the street before coming to a stop. it happened on seventh street in northeast, megan fitzgerald talked with witnesses who described the frantic moments. >> witnesses say this is a crash like they've never seen before especially here. this mega bus behind me we're told was

collided into parked cars and other cars that were driving on the roadway. take a look at this car right here, this owner of this lexus says his vehicle was parked two blocks away. >> everyone is saying, oh, he's not stopping. it started on 6th and 8th. he dragged that van. he dragged this van from all the way back there. then it came up and hit that car and everything collided altogether. >> i see the bus coming with white van attached to the side of it. >> the bmw was coming this way. he hit the bmw spun around and that's when he got to the building and stopped. >> reporter: this is still on going active investigation. police tell us three people were treated for nonlife threatening injuries. they haven't said if charges are being filed at this point. they say they're looking into the possibility that the driver of that bus had some sort

medical emergency. metro riders are angry today. they're sick of being stranded and tired of being late for work. >> this is ridiculous. this is not acceptable. trains aren't coming, buses aren't coming, what are we suppose to do. >> this morning, too much water in the tunnel from the rain over night stopped service on the red line. trains are running now. today's hassle comes on top of upcoming schedule changes and fair hikes. about 10 minutes from now kristin wright is working for you digging into today's problems and the changes coming over the weekend. we posted the new schedule and information on fare increases in the nbc washington app, search metro changes. what's left of tropical storm cindy making its way to the east coast and it dropped several inches of rain of mississippi and spawned tornados in alabama. several buildings were damaged there, as you can see here.

>> thank you, doug. first at 4:00, louisiana representative scalise is improving. he is out of intensive care. he's now listed in fair condition. scalise was shot in the hip last week when a gunman ambushed republicans on a baseball field. condition of another player who was shot on that field is also improving, mat is also in good condition and getting some real shows of support. george washington university hospital of jayson werth of the washington nationals he stopped by yesterday to visit with matt in the hospital. president trump is making it easier to fire problem employees at the va. he signed a measure that speeds up the dismissal process for workers who have disciplinary problems. the bill also protects whistleblowers to report misconduct. >> two military pilots are expected to ka

lot of folks from his ward, people who he served as a council member and they were his constituent. you know, they said that he had his office here, but his heart was definitely in ward one as we hear from one of those constituents. take a listen. >> it was like, you felt like your uncle stopped by. it wasn't like oh the council stop by, he stopped by and he was genuinely concerned about what the people need and what was better for ward one. >> reporter: and even before he came to the council, he had headed up the whitman clinic at a critical time for that clinic when the cities was in the droves of hiv crisis and that clinic was in danger of closing, a lot of people it was graham's stewardship that kept it home and kept it providing that vital function. folks have been coming here all day to pay their respects. we've got about an hour left before his funeral will be held tomorrow.

>> they dismissed the case. he's been charged as practicing as a registered nurse. he was paying people $30 to draw samples of their blood and he was storing it in his southwest d.c. apartment. it's not why the case was dismissed. prosecutors have not commented. four people were injured in paris, one, seriously, when a double decker tour bus got stuck under the bridge. the windshield and roof were on the top were smashed. the company says the bus had taken a detour because of road closures in the area. >> we have seen that at 4:00. chaos on the red line, how metro is responding after a day of issues. baby flew out o

really looks the part. if you're a fan with tupac's music like me, you know, you still get to see all of the songs that you know and love how he formed them, california love, keep your head up, hail mary, brenda's got a baby, you kind of already know it. it's fun to see them check all of those boxes of the events. i will say some of the critics do have a point, i don't want to over sell it. it feels like a tv movie at times, skipping along surface of the events rather than digging down deeper. i will say it's the biggie notorious oscar nominated like strout ou -- like straight out of compton. resurrection, absolutely see that first. it's way better. if you've seen that and still a fan, maybe a decent companion piece to that. but, you know, i actually thought

party. shower activity ahead, making its way our way. that's what we're seeing right now, just showers, come through the district just over the last hour or so, that's knocking temperatures down just a little bit. we saw high temperature a little bit earlier into the 80s. the heat index was 95 degrees. it is warm and humid, but because of the showers we're now down to 84. winds out of the southwest. a little bit of a breeze out there, too. take a look at the numbers, 82 leesburg. getting ready to make those showers, see those showers, as well. montgomery county again, prince georges county. most of this rain fairly light. this is just one area, we've seen a couple through the day. most of us have been dry throughout the afternoon. here is the severe weather just to the north of the

line up towards pennsylvania, big time storms there, back to the west, look at the swirl right there, that's the swirl. that's why you have this yellow boxes, these are the tornado watches that are in effect, severe thunderstorm watch to the north and west. we're going to await the arrival into early tomorrow morning. first up, there's the rain we have out there now. the rest of the afternoon, after this moves out, we're not going to see much. if you're heading out this evening, it's going to be warm and humid, i'm not expecting you to use the umbrella tonight. here is 4:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. notice the rain started to come in. but the heaviest rain back to the west, right on through 6:00. we could see some thunder with this because, again, we'll have these spinning motion just to our north and that means we're doing to get in on what could be strong storms early tomorrow morning. tomorrow wash out. by 9:00, the rain is gone. i don't think

rain, notice, we could see some heavy showers and downpours, maybe some strong thunderstorms at this time. by 6:00, we're riding just to our north, making its way in along 6:00, could be the time we're looking at winds, gusty winds, heavy downpours as well. by 9:00 in the morning, it is gone. and all of your saturday is looking great right now. you're thinking about heading to the pool, no problem, 883 degrees -- 83 degrees at 11:00 p.m., 88 by 5:00 p.m., humidity will be decreasing during the day, we're looking at pretty nice afternoon on your saturday. on your sunday, high temperatures, getting up to 85 degrees. less humid on sunday and this starts out, when i think, is going to be phenomenal streak. 85 on sunday, 83 on monday. 80 on tuesday with few more clouds. 82 wednesday, then we get into the not so nice, back to summer, temperatures in the mid-90s. chance for showers and thunto
