friends say coach leonard schultz was the kind of person you wanted your kids to look up to. the beloved coach and special ed teacher was killed in a traffic accident over the weekend. students who need support can meet with counselors. on saturday, a box truck ran into the -- the two were trying to secure a boat to the back of their truck when they were hit. schultz's nephew is still in critical condition this morning. the driver of the box truck has been charged with reckless driving. turning now to prince george's county. maryland governor larry hogan is call for a full investigation into the school system. whistle blowers say they have evidence that grades were changed to boost graduation rates. hogan asked the maryland state board of education to investigate. school ceo kevin maxwell released a statement saying, "there has been no systemic effort to promote students in

graduation requirements in order to inflate our graduation rates." maxwell says politics are behind the accusations. developing this morning, japanese airbag maker takata filed for bankruptcy in tokyo and here in the u.s. they still have to pay to repair all of the defective airbags. they must cover the compensation for the victims hurt by them. they're facing billions of dollars in lawsuits and fines. at least 16 people died because of the faulty inflators. finally, it's over. but if you're headed to work on metro, the higher fares are in effect. an extra ten cents this morning. then again from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. during off-peak hours, expect to pay an extra 25 cents per trip. bus fares will cost you an extra quarter this morning. a

dramatic video showing a good samaritan catching a 14-year-old girl hanging from an amusement park ride. this happened at six flags in upstate new york. she was taken to the hospital where she's listed in stable condition. she was treated and released for minor back injuries. it's unclear how the girl fell out of the ride. park officials say there is no indication the ride malfunctioned. but it remains closed. >> you heard him yelling. they'll catch you, honey. >> i guess she felt she had no other way. thank ges
