inside a parked car. somebody had shot the man which caused them to shut down the road to investigate. the area since re-opened. police are still trying to figure out how it happened and they are asking anybody who may have seen something to call police. and then out of the al alexandria county, a man was killed after being hit from crossing the highway. about a minute and a half ago they tweeted they re-opened the section of richmond highway, and as we get details we will put them out through the nbc washington app. and then county police are investigating a gun battle that broke out in brandy wine. two suspects broke in around 12:30

at the people inside and they fired back. one of the intruders was killed and the other got away. a person inside the home was hurt and taken to the hospital. that person is expected to be okay. police do not think it was a random incident. want to bring you up to speed on the developing story out of little rock, arkansas. that community spending the night gathering for a prayer vigil. two people are in critical condition after a mass shooting at the power ultra lounge. it's shutting the club's doors for good. >> one moment people were having a good time listening to music, the next, gunshots, screams and panic. people tried to escape any way they could. in all police say 25 people w

this takes a regional approach. whether it's in maryland, virginia or d.c., these vehicles scare the hell out of people, if i can say it as clearly as that, and they have to get them and corral them and keep them off the street. d.c. becomes the first in the nation to offer a gender-neutral driver's license. if you don't identify with a gender, you covered this. >> it's called nonbinary, and they don't consider themselves male or female. this aspect of human life dates back thousands of years, and in

reform plan -- >> and president trump in general. >> yeah, and in the appearance in alexandria, it was supposed to be a low profile meet and greet at a barbecue restaurant, and some of the people were protesting outside and they came inside and tried to get a position on the bill working through the senate, and he's trying to stay as far as way as he can, and he does say that he thinks pre-existing conditions need to be covered and he will talk about a few other specifics. that's difficult ground for him. >> national republicans and democrats are making this a national race and a reflection on the democrats and republicans, and everybody thought ralph

of health care. if the feds cut back on the money. they have not done it yet. >> no bill yet. in virginia, if you have overdo court fees do you loose your license? >> there's a couple significant changes and it boils down to you can't be a productive law-abi law-abiding citizen if you don't have a job. if your court fees are overdo then they pull your license, and the fees wrack up, and pay some people have ten-figure fees, and they wanted to get rid of that and that has finally happened. you know, the people will be allowed to keep their driver's license and the court will help work out a payment plan so people won't get into circumstances, and similar thing with driver's license. they were being yanked in that case, too, and

have more latitude with community service except when the marijuana position comes and somebody is behind the wheel. >> and in maryland now it's the law that schools teach students about addiction. >> yeah, and it's a long-term way of looking at epidemics taking over the country. students will need to know more about drug addiction. we don't need an opioid crisis to have our schools be much more progressive and informative about a great number of issues about drug abuse. this is a good step and i wish we would have had it in the 80s and 90s when we had crack cocaine epidemics when people were being locked up rather than help. that's it for this morning. i am lpat lawson muse.

your time is 6:30 on this sunday. we are going to start you off in prince georges county where police are trying to track down witnesses who may know anything about a homicide on the outer loop of the beltway. this was a bizarre situation. an officer found a man's body inside a stopped car just before midnight on pennsylvania avenue. he had been shot. police are asking for anybody with information to give them a call. a shooting suspect on the loose after a home invasion in brandy wine. two instraouders bursts into a home and started shooting. somebody inside the home fired back. one intruder died and the other fled and a person inside the home was injured. breaking within the last few minutes, the u.s. marshal service confirming the arrest of at least one suspect in the little rock mass shooting. this is ricky hampton. 28 people got hurt in the shooting. the city is forcing that club to

90s. isolated storm chances do follow us as we head into your july fourth. back to you. a candlelight vigil is planned tonight to honor the life of a father of four that was killed in a motorcycle crash. he lost control of his motorcycle in brandy wine. it happened on thursday on ranch avenue and moore road. tonight's vigil is set for 7:00 at the crash site. a boy hit while riding his bike. the driver allegedly taking off. if true, here's what is most disturbing. there are claims the car that hit him was a police cruiser. d.c. police are investigating the claims. police say the boy ran off the road and struck a wall in an alley,

reports. >> they are saying the driver, the officer, drove away. >> was he chasing you? >> yes. >> why was he chasing you? >> because he thought i had a weapon. >> did you have a weapon? >> no. >> but you had fireworks, firecrackers are something? >> yes. >> and the incident happened in this alley between otis place and newton street in northwest d.c. police said in a state the boy ran off the roadway and struck the wall in an alley, but he and his mom said it did not happen that way. >> i almost hit the wall but i stopped but the officer hit me on the back of the wheel. >> they are concerned officers drove off without helping the boy who has a cut on his leg and it's still sore. he said the officer wanted to know what
