i'm darcy spencer live in prince george's county where police are trying to figure out who shot and killed a man inside his car on the beltway late last night. i'll have a live report. and storm chances are creeping into our independence day. i'll have timing and details in your full forecast. critics are slamming president trump after he tweeted a mock video of him wrestling cnn to the ground. why they say this latest controversy is no laughing matter. >> announcer: news4 at 6:00 starts now. a father from maryland found dead inside of a car on the beltway. good evening. i'm kristen wright in for e

gonzalez. tonight detectives are looking for this man's killer. prince george's county police found him last night on the outer loop of the beltway at pennsylvania avenue. news4's darcy spencer is live with what we're learning about this investigation. darcy? >> reporter: kristin, we are here in the largo neighborhood where the victim lived, waiting to speak to family about this horrible tragedy. police still trying to figure out what led up to this shooting. was it a case of road rage, or was it something else? at this point, police simply don't know. we want to start with this logo. police want to know if anyone saw this car on the beltway outer loop between 11:30 last night and midnight. now, prince george's county police officer happened to be driving through that area and saw the victim's car.

it's a 1999 mercury marquis was stopped in the travel lane. when she looked in. that's when she found the victim's body, adriano lombre, dead behind the wheel. he was a 55-year-old father who lived in the largo area of prince george's county. police say he was shot from the outside of the car. they believe this was from someone firing from another vehicle. just a short time ago, we were able to speak to one of the victim's close friends. >> my wife and i got up this morning, getting ready for church. we just happened to have the news on, and we seen the vehicle. right away, we knew that was his car. him and i were very best of friends, and just a great guy. >> we believe an innocent victim and that somebody out there would have seen something or knows something. and we're encouraging them to please give us a call. >> reporter: police are telling us that they did not receive a single 911 call about this incident. so they say it's very important right now that they get witnesseo

car, possibly seen people weaving in traffic, just anything out of the ordinary, you're urged to call prince george's county police. we are live in largo. darcy spencer, news4. >> thank you, darcy. right now at 6:00, a live look at the bay bridge as people head to the eastern shore. this is at sandy point, and the drivers you see there, well, the cars are on the left side are going to the beach. so if you plan on taking the bridge, transportation leaders say of course you should leave very early or very late to avoid all the traffic. storm team4 meteorologist joins us from the weather center with the beach forecast. how does it look? >> this is a particular time of year to head to the beach. think about the heat we saw today, the heat we have coming up tomorrow. the only issue might be a few spotty storms. i've got a tour of the beaches. let's go ahead and take a look at that now. if you are headed to cape may, we are going to see temperatures in the 80s to start out.

a fire destroyed three homes in northeast d.c. this morning. the flames broke out on 18th street. nobody there was hurt luckily. firefighters now are still trying to figure out how the fire started. the heat many of you felt today didn't stop thousands of people from heading to the national mall. a big part of this year's festival was celebrating the history of the circus. you can see some of the high-flying stunts there from the acrobats. >> this is one of my favorite events every year.

the ntsb is investigating a plane crash that killed six people on board. they were flying from chicago to canada for a fishing trip. the cessna crashed in northern wisconsin. according to the sheriff there, the plane somehow lost radio contact right before the crash. this is a deadly case of road rage. i'm sure you've heard of this one. it's terrible. a man says he didn't like the way a young woman was merging onto the highway, so he shot her. this girl, bianca roberson, was 18, just graduated high school. police in pennsylvania say her killer, this man, turned himself in this morning. he is charged with first-degree murder. >> 18 years old, gunned down because somebody didn't want to give way. somebody didn't want her to merge into a lane of traffic. and because of that, a young

>> bianca's mother was in the courtroom today. that's her there. she says her daughter was headed to college in the fall. very sad. many of president trump's most prominent aides are very well paid. the white house released staff salary documents. more than 40% of white house staffers earn more than $100,000 a year. chief strategist steve bannon, chief of staff reince priebus, kellyanne conway, and press secretary sean spicer each make $179,700 a year. a round of severe weather caused major damage at this airport in allentown, pennsylvania. strong winds flipped this plane over, brought down trees yesterday, flying debris shattered a window at the lehigh airport. the terminal also has water damage after the roof leaked. just a mess.

it is of course hot but it feels a little less oppressive to me out there. >> that's because the humidity dropped, so it was less oppressive out there. we are going to see that humidity stay relatively doable as we head through your monday. by tuesday, though, it's kicking back up. we've got a rogue shower on the board, people. take a look at your radar right now. as you can see, most of us are quiet. we're dry. a little bit of that moisture to the south trying to nudge back in even though a front moves through overnight, bringing us this drier air. you can see this shower started just to move through parts of loudoun county earlier, around 4:30. right now it's in prince george's county. we are monitoring this. it is a bit more heavy at times. you can t

to push along 50 out towards annapolis. everyone headed towards the bay bridge is going to be impacted by this shower. it's moving pretty quickly. nothing too major, just a bit of a downpour. again, a rogue shower moving through. you can see on our model here it's keeping us dry. as we head throughout the evening, i think we have a chance to maybe see one or two stray showers, but overall a dry sunday evening. monday, we start off with a good amount of sunshine out there. as we head into monday afternoon, notice the model keeps a lot of rain showers to our north. but i do think we could see maybe an isolated shower start to materialize monday afternoon. very similar to what we saw this evening. as we head into tuesday, that's the big day everybody wants to know about. as we start off our tuesday, it's going to start off very nice as far as conditions. mostly sunny. the humidity will be on the rise. then those clouds start to build in, and we start to see that chance for some isolated showers and thunderstorms. i think they'll b
