lombre, a father of four had a party at his home saturday night. they were playing cards and having a good time. his daughter tells me he had dropped a friend off in d.c. and was on his way back home. in fact he told someone i'll be there in 15 minutes. he never returned. he was shot and killed in his car while driving oon the beltway. police say possibly someone in another car fired in his car. the marquis was sitting on the lane. >> he and i were the best of friends and just a great guy. >> reporter: police are trying to figure out who shot him and why whch was this a case of road rage or something

afternoon. planning this out, a few things i want you to know. those morning parades, partly sunny, probably going to be just fine. afternoon we are talking scattered thunderstorms possible. as far as fireworks later in the night you ge, the lower the storm chances and partly cloudy. but again we're going to time out your rain chance coming up here. metro service at two red line stations shutdown for a short time. the train operators thought there was a track problem when they saw smoke. montgomery county fire responded to the call about a smoking cabling on the tracks but didn't find anything. they say people were using ilisle fireworks in that area. that is apparently what those operators saw. we understand. well, tonight we're hearing from the parents of bianca

the 18-year-old was shot and killed police say because the man driving next to her didn't like the way she was merging onto the highway. >> what's wrong with people's minds that we flip out like that? >> she wasn't the type of person that would cause someone to want to shoot her. >> a 28-year-old turned himself into police this morning. he facess first degree murder charges tonight. an amtrak train derailed in washington state today, but no one was seriously hurt. 250 people were onboard. investigators say four of the 15 cars ran off the tracks on the bridge. passengers were safely evacuated from the trains to buses and continued their trip. the cause of this under investigation. president trump says his war with the media is contest between the journalists and the needf

thunderstorms. for now, though, let's get a check of our radar. we had a storm move through. for now we're quiet, and we're going to stay quiet as we head through the remainder of the night. a good amount of crowds out there, but we'll start to see those clouds decreasing. in the district of 82 degrees, 77 out to leesberg, and 70 out to winchester. about 72 degrees is what i'm going on average. maybe out to the suburbs, upper 60s. we're going to see those clouds really decreasing as we head tlouts the night. now in summary, take a look at this july fourth forecast. it's going to warmup very kickly, and humidity will be surging, so it'll feel even hotter. as we

that's when we get that thunderstorm threat, and we will see temperatures rise into the low 90s. by the evening once the sun is set, we'll still see some lingering chances for storms but not as bad as say 3:00 or 8:00. 3:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, still quiet. clousds are moving out, so we're waking up to a good deal of sunshine. in the afternoon we could see maybe one or two showers pushing through. but over all monday is going to be dry. in tuesday notice how i said we stay quiet with partly cloudy quigs. we could see some thunderstorms, but they will be widely scattered. so hit-or-miss. not everyone will be seeing these storms. that's why it's important you download the nbc washington app so you can track it. biggest chance of storms will
