overnight we'll see an increase of this storms moving east ward. but we're not look at a tornado threat by any means just gusty winds and large hail. mainly in this zone in oklahoma and into most of sent patrol tral and southern kansas this is where we'll see the large hail and wind gusts but no threat of tornadoes for today. heavy rain is likely across northwestern tennessee and stretching in arkansas where we could see as much as 2 to 4 inches of rain. local forecast is coming up in the next 30 seconds.

dylan this morning looking for some good news. >> i actually do have fairly good news. there's not a lot of activity going on across the country. temperatures are going to be well above average. we're going it see another heat dome build into the set of southwest, so very hot temperatures are work in. tucson, arkansas has qualified as warmest june on record ever with temperatures well up over 100 degrees. in las vegas as we get to wednesday we're back up to 110. portland, oregon, should get back up to 90s by the middle of the week. salt lake city 102 and phoenix 118. temperatures will be warming up. in the midwest we're look for highs to get back into the 80s. chicago, dallas, pleasant. new york she we should dip down into the 70s later in the week. now here's a peek out your window. it's indeed a very muggy start to the day today. temperatures 60s and low 70s.

there's no substitute for smoke but we're going to cook them low and slow at 350 degrees in the oven air nice barbecue rub with all these delicious beautiful things here. >> these are the ingredients here. >> chili powder, mustard, cumin, perp, little bit of everything we like to eat. >> and you put it over both sides of the ribs. >> both sides. you've got to get it in there, too, make sure you get what you're looking for, you know. there we go. so 300 degrees, covered with foil in the oven. >> what kind of ribs, by the way. >> these are the st. louis cust ribs. basically a country style spare rib that they cut the bottom membrane off so it's a clean are, more beautiful nice cut of pork. >> and so we go from there to the oven. >> so we go from here to the oven and then we have -- >> what is the cooking in the oven do before the grilling? why is that essential? >> so you need cook low and slow, it breaks down the

juice skisy. if you throw a raw ribbon to the grill it's going to seize up and not be delicious. so we're going to take this over the grill right there. dwhu on the grill, you just want to kind of finish them. so the grill's going hard, you want to good on the bone side, it protects the meat, it doesn't athrough to get hard and seize up. >> bone side down. >> bone side down. about a minute and a half on this side and then we'll flip it on the other side when we sauce. and at the same time we can throw our corn on her. >> we're using charcoal but you can use gas as well. >> you can use gas but charcoal's the way to go. it gets that flavor. >> husk on with the corn i notice. >> husk on if you want to you don't have to but what we'll do is bail the corn and then soak the huffing in cold water so that it doesn't burn on the grill and it kind of looks nicer. >> ladies, what's the word? >> i think we need flip those. >> you think we need flip those. >> these once over here. >
